  1. Was moved to Ben Davis from North Central due to construction. The reason for the move to Anderson University, as I am told, was UIndy was not comfortable housing the players and coaches this year as they have in the past. Anderson University stepped up and said they would do the whole thing. Good for the Ravens!

  2. Hey all! I realize I've been lame and absent for quite abit. Life summons I guess, but football season is upon us...so I plan to be active as I can! Anyway... I was made away of the passing of Tom Dawson. The name prolly doesn't shake any thoughts, but he was very active as well as a moderator at some point as "ItIsWhatItIs" and before that as "USNAVRET". You might have been aware that he had been fighting cancer for a long time. He wasn't able to go to games last year because of the Covid scare. I feel badly that I hadn't kept in touch with him. But this medium was our main place to meet and talk. Granted, he could be a little over the top in his posts, and certainly was a hardcore Linton Miner advocate... he was a great guy in person, and I know I will miss his it is what it is ness..... My thoughts are with his son... a former Linton player.. and of course his family. He also was a veteran who served his country well. Godspeed Tom. We'll carry the torch! Miner Pride

  4. Doesn't sound like either kid is moving from a school just down the road. When an Evansville kid moves from one school to another without a change of address it could, and probably should, raise some eyebrows. To have a kid move from Warrick County to Gibson County and another from 100+ miles away doesn't sound like a big deal.

  5. That is fine, though I do not recall asking. I sure do. Have a great day.

  6. Guess I can see that but you know my stance by now on academic/athletic success. Starts at home. Carmel’s affluence has more to do with that 90+% than anything else.

  7. I get it. I just have a hard time believing anyone at Carmel (the easiest target in this argument) could look at me with a straight face and tell me they are doing what’s best for their students in a school of 5200.

  8. I know it’s been that way quite a while. Maybe a dozen or so years or more? D1 programs like to enroll their incoming freshmen into a summer school course early/mid June. Once the player enrolls into college (in summer school) the rules change regarding benefits: training, coaching, workouts, etc. and the level of contact the school can have with the athlete. I’m not an NCAA expert, but it basically boils down to college students cannot play a game against non-college students. Which is what a D-1 enrolled player would be doing with someone who was going to a D3 school and doesn’t enroll until August.
