  1. Pretty amazing story here. Kid tore an ACL at the beginning of junior year and missed the entire football season. Came back this year and was easily the most explosive player in SW Indiana. Actually kept Memorial in the semi-state game with Mt. Vernon Fortville until he injured his shoulder in the 3rd Q. Hearing he's getting interest at the next level for track.

  2. And Andy Owen didn’t appeal the transfer? (shocked face)

  3. He posted on his twitter and one of the fan sites posted he had been offered.

  4. Not based on anything I’ve heard. Technically was not fired though the App State loss was the nail in the coffin. Both sides agreed it was time to “move on.”

  5. Indeed it has been rumored for a while. Massive addition for Reitz as I've heard and seen nothing but good things about him and they lock up their QB spot up for the next 3 seasons. Tons of potential with him, and pairs well with the skill position talent they have. By the way, where are you seeing these rosters? I know about some other transfers around the city but unsure if any have been made roster official yet.

  6. https://reason.com/2022/06/04/today-marks-80-years-since-congress-last-bothered-to-declare-a-war/ Agreed. It is more clear than ever that the U.S. government is run by the military-industrial complex, not the people.

  7. Traction AP is the new name I believe. Great program that develops athletes. Do they still complete in the IMG 7 on 7 National Championship?

  8. THis is such a sad thing. I have certainly called the name Vernelson many times over the years at Linton/Sullivan battles. Jeremiah fought so hard to be a part of the Arrow football team... it was admirable to see how dedicated he was to get to suit up. He will be an inspiration for sure.. .and from what I am told he was just a stellar kid... made a difference in people's lifes every day. My thoughts and prayers go to his family and his teammates and friends. We may be bitter enemies ...the Miners and the Arrows.. in anything from football, cow-tipping to horseshoes and watermelon seed spitting... but when it comes to this...we are all human beings---and brothers and sisters in the ultimate game of life.

  9. I respect various opinions and see both sides. I have a very different perspective on the reps impact. Many years ago, had a son that was a soph on a 5A state championship team. Because they were very good and opened up leads sometimes pretty quickly, he got tons of experience getting friday night reps in the 2nd half against starting lineups and second string players. There is no doubt that experience helped him prepare to be a 2 years starter for that program his junior and senior years. Playing against freshman and other sophs during Saturday's JV game did not offer that caliber of experience. Was it essential? Perhaps not, as the majority of his development came in practice against older state championship caliber players. But was it a plus for his development beyond playing JV ball? Absolutely. I guess I am old school and during my days, played on both ends of wide score margins. I survived and wasn't harmed long term to experience some beat downs. We all know life itself will offer some beat downs, and calling time out or simply ending it early isn't always or even typically an option. I thought your 10 run rule in baseball was a good comment....but unless things have changed, I believe both teams still have to play 5 full innings.

  10. Avon in 2022 is akin to the top Marion County schools in the mid to late 90s when it comes to SES and enrollment. Some folks do not like to hear it but certain sports lend themselves much more to students of varying socioeconomic backgrounds and ethnicities.
