Not disputing point #3 but to my earlier point, Warren has 4-5 “massive tests” on the schedule…Snider has 2. As @Komets2727 has reminded us frequently, I underestimated Snider last year and won’t make that mistake again. However, I think that week #1 is much more important to Snider than it is Warren. Warren is pretty stacked on the defensive side of the ball and has two new “unproven” players at the two most important offensive positions so catching them in week #1 may be to Snider’s benefit.

I don't want to have high expectations, but thinking 2024 in 6A may be interesting.

North Central seems to focus on other sports imo..basketball n track..similar to Northrop..so much success in one sport yet nothing in football..on the other hand wc bd and Carmel all have titles in the other 2..

Westfield sorta already has. It’s time for Fishers/HSE. They have D1 talent. Nah, it’s Penn being stuck in the past and a lack of regular season competition along with poor youth leagues. That’s what the Penn posters on here have implied anyway. The Kingsmen are pretty damn good in most country club sports.

Explain why NC, who has absolutely been in the top 3 during this period has 0 championships in football, while winning multiple championships in other sports. I only went back to 1990...BD/Warren/Carmel has won 19 of the 34 championships for 56%....the others have won 15 championships (44%). That doesn't include teams making it to the state finals which is an accomplishment in itself. The 3 schools you mention have had hall of fame coaches, talent, great feeders, football cultures, great admin support, top notch facilities, etc. To narrow it down to enrollment and enrollment only is very narrow. Heck, Cathedral is a perennial power, has sent more kids to D1 and the pros, and can we agree its not based on enrollment??

And you would say that’s because of enrollment? Because in the last 4 seasons, Carmel hasn’t gotten out of sectionals, Warren is under .500 and BD was flirting with it before getting a new head coach.

C'mon. The three largest schools have 28 combined titles since 1978. The rest of the field combined has 18. I'm not asking for much here, just a small amount of acknowledgment. Maybe something like this: "Carmel, Ben Davis, and Warren Central are all great programs, but they have had an enrollment advantage over their competition over the years." I don't think it's that hard to say.

I consider enrollment today, especially at the 6A level, irrelevant. As I've stated umpteen times, more than half of 6A has passed the point of diminishing returns when it comes to male student body makeup in relation to fielding a competitive football team. That's not limited to Indy either.

Interesting graphic I came across which shows the amount of NFL players per 1 million residents of each state. Indiana fairs pretty well in comparison to the rest of the country I thought.

If Saban were at Edinburgh, bet there would be a number of move-in's and transfers. Columbus Schools would feel that big time. 😉

I also put a higher placement on other variables needed for success. You stated the big 3 won 90% of state championships....simply not true based on the data both short and long term. I put much more emphasis on MIC teams having much better athletes playing much better competition week in and week out when comparing them to Penn before screaming “enrollment”. Who is the last D1 player to come out of Penn? Where did he go?

Partially. You should see a MIC head coaches’ “teaching schedule.” You are falling into the “black and white trap” my friend. There is a little bit of truth in what everyone in this thread is claiming, just a disagreement about the weight of weight variable. You and I place a higher priority on enrollment, others don’t. Doesn’t mean they are in denial. Don’t get frustrated. I’ve been trying to open folks’ eyes on here to the emphasis of socioeconomics for years…and it continues to fall on deaf ears.

Warren Central could go 0-9 and still make regionals. They play in the worst sectional in the entire state. Making a regional with that draw shouldn’t be an accomplishment.

Offensive line most specifically. If you don't have a deep, imposing offensive line in 6A, good luck and God speed.

Why has North Central been largely terrible throughout their existence despite having a mega-enrollment since the inception of class football? Haven’t sniffed a state title.
