I can only speak for myself so I’ll do my best. ND lost 2 games against teams that made the playoffs and they agreed to these terms.4 points

General statement applied across multiple conversations of same ilk..... BTW: My dark horse is Jeff Brohm to U M2 points

The Committee’s final act, before it goes away forever, should be to sit down with Jeff Sagarin. They should explain to him what is important in determining relative playoff rankings. Then they should go away, let him tweak his algorithms based on that discussion, and he’ll take it from there. No muss, no fuss. Oh, and it should be a condition of Sagarin’s contract with the CFP that he has to continue the Indiana high school football ratings page. 😉2 points

Exactly what my inner ND peeps tell me as well. They played, they lost, complain all you want about the rules of the process but they played by them and lost out..... they have all moved on it seems...... here, nope, the amount of same Rhetoric repeating itself over and over again.... ugh and quite honestly, boring Maybe because I have been here so long, I literally knew the moment I came back to the laptop after not being on it since last Tuesday, last day of school for me, that when I clicked on all these threads in here, without reading a word I could of told anyone what was said and by who and the circular round about we go..... over and over.... so again, ask, what is your end goals here?2 points

Well, infinitesimal progress has been made on retroactively awarding ND a spot in the 2025 playoff and vacating Michigan’s 2023 national championship. Same here. I was far more disappointed in the program’s decision to skip the bowl game.1 point

I never said it wasn’t potentially advantageous, but the committee can and does do what it wants. All the stakeholders of the CFP, the P4, G6, and now Notre Dame, have some provision that guarantees an automatic berth if a certain condition is met. Still, the provision is only triggered by ND being in the top 12 and it can be avoided by making them 13—it’s that simple. I’m not saying there will be some tinfoil ESPN conspiracy to keep ND out, I’m only saying a ND team with a marginal resume, like the 2025 team, risks being in the drop zone regardless of an agreement to give ND an automatic qualifier of its own. It’s very easy to see how different ND’s ranking might have been relative to Miami if the committee was operating with this provision in mind.1 point

Somehow, the committee had no problem putting IU and ND in a first round game last year. They would have no issues putting them in the same bracket this year or any year in the future. That is a game that would bring intrigue and ratings. But you are probably right as to where they would have been with the seedings this year had they Irish made it in.1 point

Who is winning? What is the goals here fellas? Groundhog Day EVERYDAY FYI: JMU covered vs Oregon, would not call that a waste of a spot The 3 closet ND friends off mine have been the most level headed about it all and have acted 100% opposite of the tone here What else is left to discuss in the world of Michigan under Harbaugh and Merrone? Think it's well covered, however Moore move on Instagram seems ..... interesting...... oooof1 point

Fair, however, in year Smith won heisman, the 2nd place vote getter was QB Trevor Lawerence, I bet the Colts wish they had him over DeVonte Smith1 point

It's a bang bang play, fine, yes, probably, ejectable, cmon ..... silly talk 11 Wins Playoffs Get 1 more and lets host get 2 more and .......who knows That throw by CW18, aided by his painted nails btw, seem like the locker room is okay with his leadership, just saying) was the highest rated throw this year according to PFF Onto SF and SNF1 point

This is my biggest issue with the coaches. Why in God's name are you kneeling when they have timeouts, and there is no possible way for you to run out the clock?1 point

You don’t think the committee would have found a way to get ND to 13 if that absurd outcome was likely?1 point

That game has always been toward the end of the year . USC wanted out of this game , Lincoln Riley was talking about getting out of it last year . USC was tired of taking an L and hurting their CFP chances . Notre Dame has won 7 out of the last 8 matchups .1 point

Every time someone brings up Bobby Petrino, I think and laugh of that picture of him beat to h*** with the neck brace on. Still in coaching gear, if memory serves me.1 point

How cool would a new stadium right in the lake in Indiana? Boats can drive up like UT, casinos right there. @Coach Nowlincan ride his bicycle to games. This concept is really intriguing. I enjoy the bears, not a fan like coach and others, but I can definitely get behind that move.1 point

Why? In every other sport, in every other league, winning your conference/division/group grants you admission to the postseason. What’s the point of playing a regular season then? Join a conference, it’s 2025, soon to be 2026.0 points
