  1. Great story....I first learned of these ultra races from reading the book "Can't Hurt Me" by David Goggins. The audiobook is great too. His goal was to run the Badwater race that goes through the desert in Nevada. Pretty incredible. Nowhere near as intense of a terrain, a friend of mine ran one here in Northern Indiana, called the Indiana Trail 100 in the Chain O'Lakes State Park.

  2. Forget the NFL draft machinations and the NCAA basketball tournaments, this was the most important story in sports over this weekend: https://www.nytimes.com/2024/03/23/us/barkley-marathons-jasmin-paris.html If you haven't seen the aforementioned documentary I encourage you to watch it. And congratulations to Mr. Paris on her monumental achievement.

  4. Well said. I keep going back to those Brownsburg kids. I'll run that into the ground for the foreseeable future.

  5. The Brownsburg and Ben Davis game of 2023 (if there already wasn't a better example) SHOULD have been the eye opener. Unless you're living under a rock (which apparently some of the powers that be are doing). Bob's a great guy and I'm glad I (along with all of you) have the reading ability to know what Bob really means/ wants to say here. Lol

  6. IHSAA calls it "unique," which is laughable. There's a reason only one state does it this way, because it's really kind of stupid. If the Brownsburg/Ben Davis game didn't open eyes, than nothing will. What would Texas, California, Georgia, or Ohio say if they were told, "by the way, the two best teams in the state are going to meet in the first round." They'd declare lunacy. Would these same people who voted against seeding vote for a blind draw for the college football playoff? We all know the answer to that. Kudos to Bob Gaddis for his politically correct response.

  7. https://www.indystar.com/story/sports/high-school/2024/03/22/indiana-high-school-football-ifca-proposal-to-seed-class-6a-fails-to-pass-athletic-directors-vote/73065072007/ Bummer. The mostly boomers running the IHSAA hate change.
