  1. I was there and saw it all first hand. Rewatching made it obvious. I don’t normally complain, but it was the worst I’ve ever seen. It was filmed for ref training, so you’ll probably see the film eventually.
  2. If you rewatch the game and focus on all those penalties, SA probably actually committed less than half of them. Some plays I had to watch every player in the game to see if they moved, and I couldn’t come up with anything justifiable. They called a false start before anyone was even set, and called illegal man down field when the pass was caught behind the los. Those refs were conspiracy level bad, especially when I can point out 2 or 3 plays where AC jumped bad and nothing was called. SA definitely does have a penalty issue, but not to the level of Friday. Possibly the worst reffed game I’ve ever seen. I would imagine Currie will be back this season, but I don’t know if he can get to full strength. I heard high ankle sprain, which even if playing will slow him down for a while. Would’ve been interesting to see the result with him healthy, but you gotta play with what you got. Which for SA was two former running backs on the line and a center that just started snapping on Tuesday. And 100% LCC will not be playing long in the tournament due to Covid issues. I don’t know if it spread hard, or the school tests the kids frequently, but I’m pretty sure they’re the only school so far with multiple Covid breaks. I’d be shocked if this didn’t rear its head in the postseason on them.
  3. AC made great adjustments in regional to defend the pass, but it definitely hurt SA not having Drew Stutzman. And Currie can only guard one of Stutzman/Wanner, which made such a big deal in regional. Losing Voirol also hurts, because it was way tougher trying to stop both him and Collier.
  4. South Adams has a lot of talent that could start at any school in the area, but there’s not near as much death. In head to head, SA is probably around 8. I think they could hang with most of the NE8, Columbia City is comparable. But pound for pound, definitely vying for that top spot.
  5. That’s a thought I had. What’s the doctor gonna do, sit in the middle of the field and protest?
  6. Care to elaborate? You posted this 15 hours ago as a confirmation and I have seen nothing yet regarding any SAC schools.
  7. I wonder if this won’t affect Chesterton because it was a coach, not a player. The coach is the person you would have to be in close contact, and the MC players are close contact, would Chesterton quarantine for being a close contact of a close contact? How many levels of contact tracing goes too far?
  8. Add Nick Miller as a DE/TE and then you got something
  9. All depends on who cancels. I know if I’m SA, I’m not working too hard to find a replacement on week 9 if they don’t draw the Southern Wells bye first round.
  10. To be fair, it was easy for AC to pickup Southern Wells’ would be opponent. Not sure what their other options were. And SA picked up Cass before week 1, so I think the assumption would be that they were still decent.
  11. Dekalb cancelled first because they had a player that played in that game with Covid. Sounds like Leo and Garrett will pick each other up. Plus Angola already had an open week 3 anyway, so if this were to happen, at least it’s already on an off week.
  12. It’s may be too late to get a game for Friday, but Bellmont is planning on going back to school earlier than planned.
  13. South Adams picked up a game against Lewis Cass for week 2 to replace the Bellmont game
  14. Those maxpreps numbers are off, it was around 30 in 2017. Part of the reason is there hasn’t been much success lately, and that’s leading to upperclassmen not wanting to play, them having to play too many underclassmen that then get beat up and not want to come back. I’ve also heard some rumors about the coaching being subpar for those years. All of this, plus a declining school size, leads to where they are now.
  15. That school is probably a few years from closing, overall numbers are down for the school. They had less than 20 kids come out, and most of them are under developed freshmen.
  16. As much as I hate seeing his consolidation stuff pop up, it really does need to happen at Southern Wells, and for many reasons beyond football.
  17. Bellmont cancels first two weeks, so Adams Central week 1 and South Adams week 2 are looking for opponents. They could probably take Southern Wells’ opponents because their season is cancelled due to lack of numbers.
  18. I’m a big fan of digital scout from a fan perspective. I get live in-game stats and can look back at all the games and career totals. No clue how user friendly it is for input.
  19. Why? The IHSAA doesn’t have to worry about crossing state lines and most conferences kind of have their own Local Bubble. Big Ten canceling is all about liability on the owners, which the liability for high school sports falls on the students, parents, and local medical officers.
  20. I like that a lot more. It’s like there was actual research done about the logistics.
  21. Exactly. I had symptoms on a Sunday, took a test Monday, went back to work on Thursday after I got my negative result back. If you think you have enough to get a test, then act like you have it til proven differently.
  22. Good luck on that lol. Signed, Adams County resident in very low impact area.
  23. That’s dumb. The people on the field shouldn’t count towards the stands, there should just be a rule to not have interaction. Even then, that’s still probably an extra 80-90 in the stands, could at least fit everyone else’s parents.
