Luers vs. Eastside Sectional 35 Final
Yuccaguy replied to 07_statechamp54's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
Perhaps they learned that a "HOME": game need not be played on Paulding Rd, to be won? Field conditions are a MAJOR factor to the outcome of every contest.... The injury to Hale? Did this occur in practice, or in last weeks' game? He was fine following the Snider contest.... -

Again, I ask @temptation are you actually an "official"? Or just a guy using the moniker of an UNBIASED OFFICIAL to respond as a "member" to numerous postings? -

I am not so sure that they (IHSAA) should impose their "will" in this situation. -

A couple of years ago, Bishop Dwenger was told to MOVE their Regional game from Zollner Stadium (due to field conditions). They played East Noble @ USF. I know, because I was there! I am also sure that this happened again, though not sure if it was Bishop Dwenger or Concordia that had to move. But eventually Zollner Stadium got field turf, and then Bishop Dwenger built their own turfed field on campus. Problem solved for both schools. Also, Snider had routinely moved postseason games from Spuller Stadium to Wayne Stadium due to field conditions; though NOT decreed to "move the game". Spuller Stadium now also has field turf....that problem solved also. -
SAC Sectionals - Week 2
Yuccaguy replied to CLKeller16's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
Welp, NO dog in any of these fights.... But it's obvious that Homestead at Carroll is THE game! Enjoy the passing attack of both teams this Friday, because "Bart Ball" will give a distinctively different offensive scheme at the Sectional Final. This Sectional will provide 3 teams that are so equal, in different terms, it's ridiculous. Just flip a coin, and hope! This is a 2021 Sectional that ANY TEAM can win.... -
How Are Officials Selected For, And Advanced Through, The Tournament?
Yuccaguy replied to Bobref's question in Officiating Forum
My concern is that, I hope that crews 'on the cusp' of advancement are the ones that NEED/SHOULD be observed. As part of a crew that has "legacy", we have had a hard time trying to make crews who need guidance understand that the system does work for them. We were THAT crew once upon a time. I don't want to post an exponential comment on a blog about how I see the current sysytem in place as it relates to our situation....but I DO want to say that observation needs a focus on helping crews that are on the rise, and need focus on the elements needed to get them advancement. No official who has reached the penultimate goal, should ever feel that they don't wish or need others to also reach the same. . Just my .02 cents. -
It always is, but my experience with using USF is that it really isn't the most conducive arena to HS FB. Terrible sight lines, and not a good experience for visiting teams with the seating arrangement. But, yes it could and is an option in this situation in the FW area.

The SAC was NOT "down"... the middling teams were 'down'. The top of the conference was, IMO, just fine. It didn't help that Wayne, North and Concordia were re-grouping and not to level that most thought they could be. South has done a fine job under Coach Lee of taking steps that will lead them to be a factor in the years to come. Make no mistake, for the SAC to be "down" it would be a situation where you'd have a conference full of .500 teams all beating up on each other. Just because Luers was a force as a 2A school, THAT is not the impedance for anyone to think the conference was/is not a factor in the IHSAA playoffs.

Oh and BTW. Paraphrasing these idiots' post-game comments that were notfactual....they Haven't won the Sectional title yet. Still 2 games left. But no need to get all concerned about facts. "I see you _____"

How Are Officials Selected For, And Advanced Through, The Tournament?
Yuccaguy replied to Bobref's question in Officiating Forum
I agree that tournament experience has to count for something. My question is...as more crews (new) are elevated/pushed/ranked higher through the current sysytem....ASSUMING (and this is a big assumption) that most crews remain in place to advance in the ensuing years. It does compress the number of "old" crews that would/could advance. The system may still favor the "old/original" crews in place when the system was implemented. But it also has led some crews to advance by the bylaws in place for tournament selections. -
How Are Officials Selected For, And Advanced Through, The Tournament?
Yuccaguy replied to Bobref's question in Officiating Forum
Is there any caveat to the State giving 50% of the State Finals crews a slot that have NEVER been, a bonus? This also trickles down a few rounds also....in most sports. And yes, 4 of 6 last year were "new" crews....basically. -
The topic (from this IDIOT) was about turf at Luers. Then it devolved into Snider getting a separate Stadium and turfing their lower-level facility. I will continue to be oblivious to the reality of things that have been in place for 50 years, and allow you and those of your ilk to continue your PIPE DREAM of tax payer supported facilities that are not now in place, nor will ever be in the near future. Yes, I am a total clown! Thank you, very much.
-
Agreed. Time to put an end to this convo! Perhaps this is way past just talking about Luers' situation regarding Field Turf. It seems that any conversation...In FW, always turns to Snider and their limitations.....

Talk to your "foremost" Indiana State Senate Representative: Bob "UNIBROW" Morris and see how much help you get in getting any of this off the ground. Talk to the other residents that pay into FWCS, and see if they are willing to pay higher taxes in order to meet your 'suggestion'... Ain't gonna happen! (Jim) Shields Field (a privately financed Stadium on private property) located at 2 major intersections... not necessarily in the middle of a neighborhood....is quite different than the area in which you espouse to do major reconstruction to 2 educational institutions. The traffic would be unbelievable. Who is paying for the overtime needed from policing in order to control traffic? Who is paying for the infrastructure needed to repair off site roads that could be damaged due to the increased traffic? I have lived in SACS for 36 years. The campus of Homestead was totally autonomous, and had multiple alternatives for expansion, regardless of the surrounding neighborhood. Quite a different situation. You can also put NACS (Carroll HS) in the same vain.... Only 2 FWCS HS's fall into the ability for expansion and not impacting the surrounding neighborhood...Wayne and Northrop.
-
Again, the LOCAL RESIDENTS will and have never allowed a Stadium complex to be in the best interest of the 'neighborhood' in that an alternative situation is currently in place for more than 50 years. Keep up the fight, but like Sisyphus...you are just rolling that rock up a hill....
