  1. Thank you for your sage advice, but I choose to continue the fight.
  2. Yeah, myself and my fellow student athletes were scarred for life having to play on muddy football fields. And the trauma inflicted on the marching band was just..... well it was bad. But hey the student manager who had to wash all those muddy uniforms on a Saturday morning ended up turning the experience into moola, he now runs a successful dry cleaning business.
  3. Real NFL locker room leaders:
  4. FTFY. It's not that hard to spell, really. And the IHSAA putting those Indy area p/p's in that sectional is frankly stupid.
  5. Umm, the NFL still has to hold FIFA's beer:
  6. Both. I've stated my reasoning for opposing artificial turf fields at the K-12 level multiple times on this forum, and I can assure you it is much more nuanced than "I own stock in sod". Go back and find those posts yourself, I don't feel the need to retype them again. Thank you.
  7. Yes, government bureaucracies need bean-counters. They tend to oppose the wild and extravagant spending like yourself and others champion. Why? Players getting cold and wet during and outdoor practice is now too big of a burden for them? The last time I checked football is not a 12-month sport in Indiana, or Michigan.
  8. So laptops are cheap? Yes. I have linked to a variety of desired and credible information concerning the downsides of turf fields, if not in this thread then in others.
  9. Some details regrading these facilities please. Are they used for actual games, and have the required amount seating, bathrooms, concessions, etc.? If only used for practices does the facility contain an actual 120 yard x 53.3 yard football field? That is a huge amount of money, don't you think? Could buy a lot of textbooks with that.
  10. Yes, I probably will. Do you have examples of this occurring in Indiana yet?
  11. How much taxpayer dollars are being spent for each installation?
  12. That is because I created the OOB. As that clubs' creator I have a number of functions: And IIRC I once tried pinning certain forum threads on both the OOB and the GID main forum. I was subsequently chastised quite heavily by at least one GID admin and told to stop.
  13. I don't know yet. Rome wasn't built in a day. I can only continue to espouse my opinions regarding the matter. If you personally no longer like to read it then you have two choices Bash Riprock; you can put me on ignore or you can contact a GID admin concerning the matter. Eventually, yes.
  14. The first time you have a #1 seed defeated by a randomly drawn #3 seed you will hear the uproar, especially in those tightly contested "sectionals of doom" where 4-5 programs have a legitimate shot at the sectional championship.
  15. That last time I checked I do not have ability to pin posts in the main GID forum. Do you?
  16. So you are saying the GID never has new members?
  17. Do you have a URL for this Indiana High School Band Digest?
  18. I care. Mr. Doyel cares. These Scottsburg residents and alumni seems to care. You apparent disdain for non-athletic high school activities is noted.
  19. Making the ISSMA state finals 30 times in the last 41 years is not just a 'decent' band. It's arguably the most successful extracurricular activity Scottsburg has.
  20. According to this missive Scottsburg is really a band school, not a basketball school: https://www.indystar.com/story/sports/columnists/gregg-doyel/2024/03/27/a-judge-on-the-sax-must-be-scottsburg-pep-band-at-ihsaa-3a-title-game/73085808007/
  21. Way back during my high school days Maconaquah had a home & away series with scheduled with Madison. It was a Saturday afternoon game IIRC. The Braves were the first to make the trip down south, and the team got to stop at a steakhouse for dinner on their way back home. Unfortunately the next year Madison canceled their reciprocal trip to Bunker Hill. 😞
