So a portion of these decisions is based on laziness by the Athletic Director and/or the Athletic department staff.

The aforementioned Wabash H.S. has also canceled it's 2026 boy's soccer schedule due to low numbers. Indiana DOE data shows their 9-12 enrollment at 457.

A substantial amount of my earnings gets "donated" to the Community Schools of Frankfort every year. Let their athletic department support itself.

The Illinois schools that I am familiar with that co-op for football are all very small, even by Indiana high school standards. We are talking grades 9-12 enrollments of less than 100 students for each school. Are there currently any Indiana high schools with enrollments that small that field a tackle football team? Not to my knowledge.

The co-op proposal the IHSAA recently turned down had strict enrollment caps:

8-man is just football-lite. The real solutions are: 1. Co-op programs. 2. School consolidations.
