  1. Football won quite some time ago. (I am a basketball guy too BTW). Been to any games in the Hatchet house lately?
  2. Because football is king in SWI....we work together to elevate the play in our region. Successful football is driven by volunteerism. Starting when kids are very young, if you don't have a strong volunteer population you are destined to fail. Volunteers are proud of their efforts and like to talk about it. GID has provided SWI volunteers a place to do that. If volunteerism is weak in a region (and yes this has strong socioeconomic ties), you won't be as successful and you won't have as much talk (online or otherwise).
  3. Prayers for family and friends of Coach Fouts.
  4. You'd be mad too if transfered your daughter from Reitz and paid $8k in tuition to be part of a "championship run", only to come up short. I mean, that is the expection right....pay the $8k and get a trophy?
  5. Kyle Brakie (Evansville North High School) Chandler Mckee (Gibson Southern High School)
  6. I hear there is traction but I also hear there is opposition among former Big 8 schools mostly. All hear say.
  7. I'd say it all worked out for the best....especially for EVERYONE not named Mt. Carmel. Once the Vincennes, Tecumseh deal is in place, I think everyone will be sitting really good. I think PAC Big/Small will be just fine aligned how it currently is. I'm guessing SR wants to stay where they are, they cross over and play everyone they want to play anyway.
  8. https://www.courierpress.com/story/sports/high-school/2022/02/08/ihsaa-girls-basketball-gibson-southern-beats-memorial-sectional-final/9285268002/
  9. Successful teams are competing in thier conference and sectional most seasons. Maybe they have only done that for 2 or 3 years. It hardly takes a 38 year body of work. The great thing about Indiana HS football is that it is a little like the stock market, past performance doesn't guarantee future results.
  10. Has anyone heard if Tecumseh actually likes this idea? I don't know why they wouldn't but I'm sure I don't have all the decision making factors that they do.
  11. I have gotten wind of some of that "bad taste" from former Big 8 schools. But, at the end of the day people make mistakes. Grown adults in charge of educating our children probably shouldn't hold long term grudges. With regard to your second sentence, wouldn't the PAC want Tecumseh and Vincennes as a package deal?
  12. I've been here since 2011. The old timers all know me. I see you're listed as a parent. Can you confirm who you are the parent of? Either are probably irrelevant to the topic at hand.
  13. What schools would vote against Vincennes Lincoln and Tecumseh joining the PAC and why?
  14. Interesting that our friend seal_63 rarely makes a post without the full term "Levi Salters" or "Salters" being mentioned in the post. Perhaps nothing, but interesting none the less. Name recognition is important.
  15. What...is Mt. Vernon going to vote NO?
  16. Jasper has the perfect home and they won't leave any time soon. 812hoops does some amazing things for local kids and their exposure but this suggestion was really really dumb. There are several divisional conferences in the state. I say add Tecumseh to Small school PAC and Vincennes to Big school PAC and call it a day. Scheduling just got a little easier in the PAC and the SIAC gains some much needed non-conference matchups. Seems like a win, win, win.
  17. I was surprised our friend HHF wasn't on here saying every young couch in the state should be vying for this position....because hey...it's in Indy where the special football is played.
  18. It is true the bottom dwellers in the SIAC are pulling the conference as a whole down. Really no excuse for that based on the size of those schools.
  19. GSs strength of schedule looks about the same as the SIAC schools based on the chart above. It’s a shame more PAC schools haven’t taken full advantage of that flexibility. Fair enough.
  20. Oooo I see what you did there. That said, I think GS would have beat Jasper every year out of the last 11 except maybe one. I posted a calpreps study with regard to that last year. Why do I feel like I need a bath after reading a Jasper guy pumping the SIAC….feels wrong? Don’t worry HH will be back with a fury this year. Looks like Mt. Vernon will come away with a loss week 1.
  21. Would be if you could lop off the bottom half of the conference I suppose. Well at least Vincennes is making the SIAC stronger.
  22. Excellent point...and as you can see from those signed up that is how must do it. However, last year North Posey only put their varsity in the tournament in the small school division where they narrowly defeated the Gibson Southern JV to advance to the small school championship game.
  23. As for your second paragraph you are speaking out of both sides of your mouth again. How can you continue to hype Vincennes as a great idea for the SIAC? If the SIAC is so far superior to the PAC how does Vincennes make that conference "stronger" as you have said in at least a couple Coach interviews. Particularly based on the below Sagarin data: The PAC has 5 of the TOP 11 teams this season or 6 of the top 12. Not bad considering the disparity in school size.
  24. I don't disagree that having at least one travel game is a good thing. I can't argue that point.
  25. I would add matching up the smaller players with the bigger ones for all drills....how else will the smaller players get any better?
