  1. This is a good point. Maybe still too early to tell though. Would Spegal benefit from a move to a smaller school? Is it an option he is even entertaining?
  2. People, particularly those in Indy are STILL salty about the 2018 Mr. Football voting.
  3. I mean the holes that the Indy running backs were given and the free reign given to the WR’s to do whatever they wanted was absolutely putrid.
  4. The first two sentences of your second paragraph nail it. Too many variables to make the assumption that IU/Purdue “missed” on the kid ESPECIALLY this early in the process. Who is to say he didn’t use the disrespect that he WAS shunned by big time programs as a motivator that has contributed to his impressive start? So many folks are “D1 or bust” or “P5 or bust” when in fact there are countless examples (even some in this thread) that show that it really doesn’t matter. If you’re good, they’ll find you. If they miss once, the transfer portal is always an option. I loved watching the kid play and echo the sentiments of many on here (albeit from afar) but to pretend we know more than the staffs that recruit these kids is a bit extreme.
  5. Can you please provide us with your resume including references and reasoning why your eyes and ability to see him “up close” is superior to the Indiana and Purdue coaching staffs? Are you on a university’s football payroll somewhere?
  6. Anyone else long for the days where a person’s medical/health decisions were not a public matter? Oh, just me? Okay…
  7. How in the HELL have the Jets won two games?
  8. The irony in this post (though no one at Carmel would probably say this publicly) is that sectional titles probably mean LESS at Carmel than anywhere else in the state. At this point (and anyone who has seen Carmel’s athletic HOF/gymnasium can attest to) I would not be surprised if they just use sectional champion trophies as door stops. Yes, in most sports.
  9. Nah, maybe that was a bit premature now that I look at it in retrospect but to make this outlandish claim as if it some sort of disrespect two-thirds of the way into the kid's freshman year is also premature. The MAC is a respectable mid-major conference but it is not the Big Ten.
  10. Oh, I agree completely. "Finding a way" just comes across to me as David vs Goliah or "against all odds" when actually the "odds" are pretty good that you are going to have success in a numbers driven sport with a high enrollment/SES (there it is AGAIN!).
  11. I think it is far too early to make this claim. Now, if the kid is at the combine in 2-3 years? Sure. How does 582 rushing yards against a MAC schedule compare/translate to the Big Ten?
  12. Never been a white wine/caviar type of guy. I'm more of a burger/brats individual who sprinkles in the occasional pre game keg stand.
  13. Ah yes, because my comments are by far the most egregious in this thread. Way to duck the question by the way.
  14. “It's hard as hell to find parents committed to the sacrifice of $15k/annual.” LOL at this line. Shows how out of touch you are with reality. A new low. Meanwhile, two miles down the road in Lawrence Township, it’s hard as hell to find student athletes that can afford football cleats. I’m sure Cathedral just has superior coaching, better X’s and O’s, and works harder though, right?
  15. Nah, went to CATHEDRAL…it was a 400 level class.
  16. Nah, I just call people out on their bullshit which you don't like. You could insert any school name.
  17. Neither honestly. Just want transparency, that’s all. Denying Cathedral’s advantages is one thing…having the nerve to imply they are actually at a DISADVANTAGE is next level delusion.
  18. Now do the "type" of student athlete that "applies" at Cathedral in comparison to other schools of similar size. Say it...you know you want to.
