A simple study of Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs (be honest in thinking you’d never see that cited on a football message board) should let you know where I stand on this topic. It’s worth reviewing if you haven’t brushed up recently.

Look, on any particular Friday night, any team can be beaten. These are 15-18 year old kids.
But what happens the other 166 hours of every week can’t be ignored.
Watch the news every now and then. While depressing more often than not, it’ll open your eyes in terms of the lives lived by students of these particular districts.
Some are worried about what football camp they are going to attend next summer… others about where their next meal is going to come from.
