  1. They have to beat Brownsburg OR Carmel, not both. Not “headed down the drain” by any means but let’s not pretend they’ve climbed some mountain by beating Brownsburg (perennial November choke artists). Anyone with a BRAIN picked CG on Friday night. Only those with an emotional attachment to the BD program or those needing a mental evaluation chose otherwise.
  2. Eh, don’t believe in that destiny nonsense.
  3. The Vegas O/U on Michigan wins was 7.5…
  4. Cool they are going to be good next week but how is that going to help them next YEAR?
  5. A simple study of Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs (be honest in thinking you’d never see that cited on a football message board) should let you know where I stand on this topic. It’s worth reviewing if you haven’t brushed up recently. @Bobrefhinted at it in another thread but refused to come out and say it. Look, on any particular Friday night, any team can be beaten. These are 15-18 year old kids. But what happens the other 166 hours of every week can’t be ignored. Watch the news every now and then. While depressing more often than not, it’ll open your eyes in terms of the lives lived by students of these particular districts. Some are worried about what football camp they are going to attend next summer… others about where their next meal is going to come from.
  6. I’m still talking MIC which sets them up nicely for state. I’ll keep waiting on the HCC though. Westfield and Brownsburg are the future but I’m getting a bit tired of waiting. Not sure if next year is the year.
  7. NO way UGA drops out of the top 4. I too fear a close SEC title game in which Bama still gets in. I just can’t see them putting them at number four though which then sets up a rematch.
  8. True story but I believe that game was foreshadowing what we have seen from them in the semi state the last two trips.
  9. What do Warren/CG have to gain from that potential matchup? And why do you think this is?
  10. Ask @BTF how bets go with me on here. (Hint: I don’t lose.) Predicting the demise of the Center Grove machine is such an amateur move. They are winning at all levels right now (varsity, JV and freshman). I believe they lost 1-2 games this season COMBINED. They, not Warren or Ben Davis are now the transfer destination of central Indiana talent. I’d also go in depth regarding the SES component but every time I do, I hurt @Footballking16’s feelings. I made another bold statement on here a while back that I will also stick to. Westfield wins a 6A title before Warren or Ben Davis wins their next one.
  11. I’m not sure how you beat them… Run the ball 50+ times and control the clock? Score TD’s in the red zone. Can’t settle for FG’s? Bend but don’t break and hold them to FG’s whenever possible in the red zone? Tackle their receivers in space? Get to the quarterback and don’t let him get comfortable? Get some turnover luck and win that battle?
  12. While it looks better for the Irish this morning than it did yesterday I’m not so sure this is entirely true. What’ll be interesting is if Bama loses a close one to UGA do they have the balls to drop them out? They wouldn’t go to 4 because of a rematch. Then, does the big 12 champ jump ND (especially if it’s Okie State who has 1 loss) while the Irish are sitting at home? They CAN’T jump Cincinnati if the Bearcats continue to step on the gas like they did yesterday. As to your other point. While I don’t label myself a Notre Dame “hater” I don’t like em. I think Kelly is slightly above average on game days but he’s a great recruiter. They are benefiting right now from the fact that their “rivals” are all in a downward spiral. They were heads and shoulders above every team on their schedule this year in terms of talent.
  13. BD should make the semi state annually in the current tournament format. It should be a formality. A regular season finale against annual MIC bottom feeder North Central, followed by a bye week and then two gimmes before the regional. Gimme a break. State championships are how the BD program measures itself. Not wins over IPS, Perry Township and suburban schools.
  14. “You can tell the difference in the way they conduct themselves on the sideline.” ”You can tell the difference in the way they are prepared for situational football.” DYING for specific examples to these two claims.
  15. How’d that workout when Merrillville scheduled CHATARD in 2020? Win those ones first, otherwise beating the MIC in the regular season and tournament is a pipe dream.
  16. Quite the opposite actually Bobby. I cashed in on this bet (as well as IU under 8 last week). Pretty weak schedule for the Irish honestly and it finally looks like not playing in a conference title game is going to hurt them for a change.
  17. Making this even scarier, rumor has it CG was down 2-3 studs. @Grover, can you confirm?
  18. Just saying, the folks here love to give me shit but the HCC (barring conference realignment) will put everyone in the rear view mirror by then.
