  1. Irish can still make something if this season. Three legit squads left on the schedule (2.5 I guess with Syracuse). Can they get at least one of them?
  2. Whiteland more likely. Fastest growing area in the state. Will be a mega school in no time.
  3. The poll will extend into the postseason. They’ll get their shot against the sectional 28 winner to prove me wrong and even a close loss validates your skepticism. Their loss against Columbia City (who was also fringe top 50 all season) didn’t help their cause.
  4. I slept on them a bit in my weekly poll. Their SOS was a limiting factor but actually better than I had though when I went back and looked. I think they are borderline top 50.
  5. Whiteland is legit but they are another team that could just as easily lose in game 1 as make it to Thanksgiving weekend. Franklin is no slouch.
  6. Hell, taking it a step farther you could make a case that teams like Ben Davis, Brownsburg, Carmel, Westfield, Carroll and Penn could just as easily lose in game 1 as make it to the state title game.
  7. Never, since the inception of 6A has there been a postseason with so much intrigue and so wide open. I think you could honestly make a case for 25 percent of the class to get hot and end up in LOS on Thanksgiving weekend.
  8. Off topic but I think Norwell is barely top 5 in 3A…(ducks head on way out).
  9. You still evaluating unproven quarterbacks and anointing them while giving them nicknames such as “the chosen one?” “Expertise.”
  10. Time and place, right? Seven of their wins have been by double figures. Wouldn’t you get them in on those situations and not a tie/3 point game in week 9 of the season? Head scratching to me.
  11. Bobref is always beating the drum for playoff qualifications, but in the same breath speaks about the lack of officials. With a tourney cut in half (potentially), you would have a REAL officiating problem. Folks who are not getting tourneys will continue to quit.
  12. 3. Michigan hasn’t had enough talent to compete with Ohio State in the recent past. They still aren’t on par but a helluva lot closer than they’ve been in some time. Hoping Ryan Day forgets he has talented running backs again… 4. It’s a rivalry game. I’d expect nothing less. These two teams are competing for similar recruits. Running up the score against your rival sells in living rooms of high school kids who may be on the fence.
  13. 1. What makes you think their D is better than last year? Knowles? They still haven’t played a competent offense (sorry Notre Dame fans). 2. Can the case be made that Penn State is light years better than ND and Indiana could play with ND? If so, remind me who was in control of the ND/OSU game for 3 quarters? Can’t pick and choose. 3. A running game travels better than a passing game in the unpredictable Midwest in late November. Stroud, Harrison, JSN, etc are absolute studs but if weather is a factor (likely) and Michigan can run the ball and keep the OSU offense on the sideline, I love their chances. 4. Revenge is such a dumb metric to cite when predicting a sporting event. Is OSU suddenly going to play harder because they lost last year? Come on. If so, I had been waiting on “revenge” for over a decade prior to last season. 5. The Vegas line has dropped from -14 (preseason) to -8.5 (currently).
  14. You didn’t hear? They found some kids in diapers in the stands at halftime and decided to give them some second half playing time.
  15. Time to exercise those Madison/Camp Randall demons Boilermakers. Cannot believe you are getting two points.
  16. Back to this topic, has/will OSU played/play a team capable of scoring on every drive? Michigan DID NOT PUNT on Saturday… Now obviously they can’t settle for FGs in the red zone against OSU like they did Penn State but all I heard all last week (including from the great Urban Meyer on the pregame set) was that PSU was going to shut down (or at least slow down) Michigan’s running game. They ran for 418 yards…Penn State had given up 399 TOTAL rushing yards in their five games coming in. Are you convinced OSU’s front 7 is better than Penn State’s?
  17. Heard this one many times…she has her moments.
  18. Coaching malpractice? (I love it when Cody responds to Cody by the way.) ”There.”
