  1. Avon @ Westfield: Avon was at the bottom of the conference last season and is likely headed there again but that does not mean progress has not been made. Westfield had the state's top team on the ropes last week before a back breaking special teams return flipped the script. Rocks get back on track here, 34-14. Brownsburg @ Zionsville: Not falling into the "trap game" idiom again but I do think the Eagles show some pride at home here. They will keep things interesting for a bit before Brownsburg pulls away. 'Dogs win 34-20. Fishers @ Franklin Central: As I said last week, it appears that Fishers' temporarily lost its mind against Pike in week 2 as the Tigers have rebounded with some quality wins and took Brownsburg to the wire. The Flashes are respectable but just not on par with the top 4. Tigers win this one 28-13. Hamilton Southeastern @ Noblesville: Well, its October. We know what that means for Noblesville as we have seen it before. Early season success turns into a reality check once conference play begins. HSE wins a low scoring one here 23-10.
  2. Ben Davis @ Carmel: Things went from bad to worse for the Giants last week as their "Warren hangover" carried into a dismal performance against LN. Shows how brutal and unforgiving central Indiana can be as the Giants fall from grace just months after winning the state title continued. Carmel needed last week badly as NC was a "get right game" for them. I think there is a healthy respect between these two rivals which is why I think it will be closer than most think. Carmel still pulls it out though. 27-17 'Hounds. Center Grove vs Cathedral (@ Marian): Really excited to follow this one as I am still on the fence as to whether or not these two are title contenders or are a step behind the HCC's top two. Admittedly, I have not followed much more than box scores from CG specifically but their last two contests were closer than I anticipated. Cathedral will be interesting coming off of a bye which is rare. I will take CG 30-24. Lawrence North @ Warren Central: Best offense in the state against the best defense in the state. Might shock some folks to read that LN is 4-0 in the last four meetings between these east siders. I think these are two programs headed in opposite long term directions. Doesn't mean Warren CAN'T win, but they will have to clean a lot of things up as LN will make them pay unlike others on Warren's schedule. I think this is a changing of the guard at the top of the conference. Mallory is using the CG blue print with track and field and the Wildcats are thriving in both seasons. LN wins 31-14. Pike @ Guerin Catholic: Did a double take when I saw this one on the schedule as this is an odd matchup. Pike has a couple of impressive wins on its resume but has sort of come back down to earth. Guerin has taken on some local 3A/4A powers and has provided little resistance to them scoring. Guerin can score but I will stick with the larger school with the more impressive win to its credit. Pike wins 30-21. North Central @ Lawrence Central: Not sure what else I can say about this one as it is LC's turn to get right with the Panthers on the schedule. Bears win 34-7.
  3. They’d often be better off punting on 3rd down and putting their defense back out there. No lie. 26”ish” lol….also depends on the margin.
  4. I mean, I am a poll of ONE. They are a compilation. You’d think any bias of any kind would be negated or offset and that it would balance out. They are damn good and have an amazing defense…but I just can’t imagine one of those top tier teams failing to capitalize consistently when they are given the ball frequently. It’s week 7. Teams are what they are at this point. Warren’s offense will not get them past the regional unless something changes drastically.
  5. I’ve got em 6th which is WAY lower than any other poll I’ve seen. This week tells me everything I need to know about the Warriors.
  6. Eh, this week’s game against Carmel may move the needle a bit but unless they somehow shock Brownsburg in the sectional, I think we’ve seen the last of BD in Temp’s Top 25.
  7. They aren’t sniffing it.
  8. Can’t really argue but when you lose by 3+ touchdowns and have zero quality wins on your resume it’s hard to give you the benefit of any doubt. Shaping up to be an ingesting sectional 2.
  9. Concord? Lafayette Jeff?
  10. I had tons of respect for Plainfield (not as much as the other polls I mind you) after 5 weeks and Decatur Central ran em the field on their homecoming yesterday afternoon. DC had to have underestimated (not making excuses) what has turned out to be a damn fine team in Columbus North in week 1… They, along with Fishers, seem to have put their head scratching loss behind them and are playing great ball right now.
  11. Once again…gotta win games. Not just gonna shuffle around the bottom half HCC teams weekly. You just cannot lose to Brebeuf…sorry. They’ll get their chances with the upcoming schedule.
  12. Winner moves into Temp’s top 20.
  13. I mean, Greenfield and Mount Vernon are not slouches and New Pal ran them off the field. Then you add in what Decatur Central has done since that head scratcher in week 1 and New Pal as a top 10 team makes sense to me. Those two were tied at 21 before the game was called. I could see New Pal putting a scare into teams ranked outside of that top 5.
  14. They were on the list preseason but when I saw what Dwenger did against Moeller and compared it to East Central, I had pause. 23 game winning streak against in state teams.
  15. Brownsburg Westfield Crown Point Center Grove Lawrence North Warren Central Indianapolis Cathedral Fishers Hamilton Southeastern New Palestine Carroll (Fort Wayne) Bishop Chatard Columbus North Roncalli Concord Mishawaka Decatur Central Evansville Memorial Fort Wayne Snider Martinsville Lafayette Jefferson Brebeuf Jesuit Carmel Elkhart East Central
  16. Santa Claus knocking on the door of Temp’s Top 25…
  17. Hell, I misunderstood his question. He questioning them in tier 2 thinking they should be in tier 1? I was thinking tier 2 vs tier 3.
  18. We will find out next week. Has there ever been a 6-0 team that has 20+ turnovers?
  19. Called it this summer. Pull the receipts. (My triceps hurt.)
  20. If they are somewhere between 18-25, we calling Roncalli top 10-12 and Brebeuf top 15?
  21. Exactly my take.
  22. Barely gonna hang on in my top 25 tomorrow. Head scratching.
  23. Wow. What a roller coaster for the Braves.
