  1. 6A playoffs won't be a walk in the park....requires teams to stay healthy and beat multiple talented teams twice, which is never an easy task. I believe CG understands this and won't sell the farm friday. They will play hard and play to win, but will not sacrifice their ultimate prize of a 6A title. I think this was Grover's point in earlier comments. Just my opinion, but Cathedral's gap to win in the 5A playoffs is much greater than CG's in 6A. I don't see the playoff risks identical at all.
  2. I found this view...... https://irishmegaphone.com/10633/sports/from-field-of-weeds-to-field-of-dreams/#modal-photo Can get a top view from google map satellite view
  3. I follow Kyle. Followed his tweet last night about limited capacity. One comment that included safety. That is what drove a Cathedral freshman coach to jump in.
  4. I follow a number of Twitter feeds...feels like you might be embellishing this a little. I've seen one comment complaining about the facility, which drove a Cathedral frosh coach to jump in the fray and start commenting. I don't see that happen much. Truthfully, how many CG fans have you read Tweeting about the location due to safety? I have no dog in this fight....but perhaps I am missing all the CG fans comments. Point me in the right direction in my thoughts about your post are inaccurate. I am a Twitter guy, so I can find them if you point me to them. You have me curious.
  5. Thanks for explaining...just curious why what was done in the past has been changed for this friday. Just seems that a larger capacity facility would bring in more funds, but perhaps it doesn't offset the cost of using Tech. Just don't hear often about capping attendance as a result of facility constraints. I understand the history of the game, but thanks for the comments about playing surface.....
  6. Serious question...is there no longer an agreement between Cathedral and Tech high school? I believe that is where the last couple of CG vs Cathedral games have been hosted by the Irish. I ask because the Tech schedule has them on the road against Kokomo, so I assume the Tech field is open friday night. Turf field, larger seating capacity, perhaps better parking (not sure), so it just made me wonder. Thanks!
  7. I am reading CG’s 2nd straight undefeated MIC championship is the first in MIC history. To MIC guru’s, is this correct? Back to back undefeated conference championships a first? Congrats to Center Grove Coach Eric Moore for coaching his Trojan teams to an 8th MIC championship, passing the great Dick Dullaghan. Both legendary coaches!!
  8. Danny with a great block against Boise State. IMG_0912.mov
  9. Former All State HS Center from Bishop Chatard Danny Godlevske is making a big impact for the 5-0 Oklahoma State Cowboys. Danny, a former player and graduate of the Miami of Ohio Redhawks is using his final year of eligibility for OK State. He immediately was moved into the starting center position on the OL and is playing really well. His experience is really helping out the O line and the Cowboy rushing attack. OSU is off this Saturday and next week play at Texas for a big conference game. The Cowboys have knocked off Kansas State and Baylor in consecutive weeks. If you get the chance, tune into some Cowboy games and watch a true master of his craft. Stay healthy #51 and keep driving forward Danny!!! Making the Hoosier State proud!
  10. I just read on Twitter...Indiana Prep Sports Network in a tweet indicated this move has been taken across the country in major cities for games in "areas of violence". Its a shame...
  11. ACC Network is available if you stream on YouTube TV
  12. Thanks Irish....this helps these worn eyes to see it better. I understand the frustration much better now.
  13. Again, not disputing you...to me it looked like it could have been his leg with the burgandy pants. I guess it wasn't clear to me, but with my vision, my view is lacking.... I can also see where it would be the ball...just not 100% positive.
  14. My eyes are not great..first to admit. I can't tell from the photo if that is the ball or the leg of the Minnesota player....
  15. Penix out indefinitely according to AP and ESPN….
  16. Great questions...and I agree...kids today most likely are not swayed by traditions of the past. Perhaps a school like Penn State has a nice market on talent not only in rich PA, but also much of the northeast. Throw in some individuals from the midwest and south, and they have quite the roster. They also have that connection of putting guys, especially on D, into the NFL. But what a comeback they made as you said from a tremendously bleak event just a few years ago that could have been the death of the program. They also defy the trend that you see from so many programs that have multiple uniform and helmet options....they wear the same old home and away uni's with the same helmet....and they still attract the young talent. Interesting case study. MSU is also interesting...I thought they were plummenting on the way down, and that ship seems to be back on course.
  17. So true Irish...I remember going to an IU vs Wisconsin game at Memorial Stadium as a kid back in the Corso years and IU shut out Wisconsin 24-0. Wisconsin's best attribute back then was the marching band they brought with them. Alvarez really changed the culture of that program.
  18. Michigan State had little issue with Western KY yesterday. I’m not sure if IU will be favored in another game this season if they don’t turn this offense around. I can’t tell is the offense is predictable because of the limitations of the O Coord, limitations of the QB, or both.
  19. Can really hear the shots in this video. I understand how people must have thought this was inside the stadium. Had to be just right outside.
  20. Hines is great no doubt. But Mack and Hines are different backs. Mack is 6' 210lb man that was a workhorse between the tackles. He broked the 1000 yd barrier in 2019 before going down with an injury in early 2020. When I say "1-2" punch, I am talking the kind of back than can run repeatedly inside. Taylor and Mack can do that. Hines is not that kind of back. Had he been seen as such a back, there would have been no reason to draft Taylor following the 2019 season. Mack could have been released with Taylor and Hines on the roster, but he wasn't. He was given a $2M contract for a season in March 2021. Clearly, the GM felt he would compliment Taylor with fresh legs. All I am saying, is that feeling changed quickly once the season started...so much that I don't believe Mack was even active last Sunday. I am curious what happened to change Ballard's mind from earlier in March.
  21. that's probably the root cause..... but when they gave Mack a one year deal in March instead of releasing him, many thought for at least a season, we would see a 1-2 punch. Guess that has changed, but changed quickly.... https://www.stampedeblue.com/2021/3/17/22336717/breaking-news-colts-re-signing-running-back-marlon-mack-to-a-1-year-2-million-deal
  22. Things went south fast between Mack and the Colts...wonder what happened behind the scenes??
  23. OK,,,not going to argue with you. You can assess character from your internet sources. Glad you were able to locate some accurate, non-biased and trustworthy media sources. I don't always seem to have that luck.
  24. I'm not disagreeing...I meant in the long run. No doubt they are struggling offensively.
