  1. I was wondering the same Muda....people glued to their phones and technology. It would seem so many would rather argue/debate from their couch and simulate activities, vs. actually doing and spending time with people, actually looking them in the eyes before spouting and listening to their perspectives, experiences, etc.
  2. Anyone hear about this interesting story at the Naval Academy? After their loss to Air Force in a rivalry game, the AD went around the head coach and fired the offensive coordinator? That seems strange. I guess they did bring back the coach but only as a QB coach and not the O coordinator. The head coach and AD clearly not at the same place. Guessing the days of Coach Niumatalolo are limited for Navy. https://www.washingtonpost.com/sports/2021/09/13/ivin-jasper-navy-fired-reinstated/ Can anyone else remember the AD of a program firing assistants without the support and involvement of the head coach?
  3. I read Clay Helton's tweet following the firing and it was full of class and gratitude. I hear he is a man of great character. But this would make it more digestable for me if I were in that position...... https://247sports.com/Article/Clay-Helton-USC-football-buyout-cost-sizable-after-firing-170906658/ Seems like a lot of pennies......
  4. I am not condoning the coach's actions...but it would be tough to watch one of your own guys down on the ground indefensible while an opponent using his cleat to step on his stomach, and not do anything to get the opponent off of him. My guess is that the coach will receive some discipline from the NFL as well.
  5. Holy Toledo!
  6. Great logic.... I am a little torn on LC @ Pike, but like you I am leaning with Pike. I was impressed with BD last week, but realize in this storied rivalry, this game could go either way.
  7. I saw where Carson Steele has played and scored TD's in each of his college games for Ball State. Saw him score Saturday against Penn State in Happy Valley. In the first quarter, he caught a nice pass out in the flat on 4th down and picked up the first, trucking a Penn State DB in the process. Hope the young man continues to play well and stay healthy.
  8. It was an interesting game plan. The BD bomb on 4th down was gutsy and shocked the Trojans for a TD. The BD QB took a pounding. Kudos to that tough young man that repeatedly picked himself up from the turf and continue to compete without fear. Respect!!! CG also adjusted in the 2nd half and really rolled offensively without one their feature backs who was injured. I have to chuckle a little regarding your comment about other teams making it interesting if they use BD’s game plan. That assumes that the horses in the stable are identical and the CG doesn’t improve or adjust. Very hypothetical. Additionally, always tough to win being a one dimensional offense. Not impossible, but very tough.
  9. The Sooners better improve on the defensive side of the ball.....their recent track record hasn't been impressive, nor their recent effort at home against Tulane. SEC very different beast than the Big 12.
  10. Thank you very much for sharing this info. Prayers for Mr. Hook.
  11. I went on Google Maps and noticed that....but I was looking at the track...if not needed, could probably locate visitor bleachers there...or expand them all on the home side. Works for Indiana State football at Memorial Stadium. https://gosycamores.com/facilities/memorial-stadium/5 Just looking at options close to CHS. Always thought the Howe campus was pretty....
  12. Hopefully they adjust and get some mojo back with the Idaho game. If not, Cincy could be a mess, and it won't get much easier. Penix looked really out of sorts with missing reads and just not with it. The underhand toss over by the sideline when flushed out of the pocket was especially nice.....how about just flick the ball like a normal forward pass out of bounds?? Throwing into double coverage, while missing the open receiver...my favorite was throwing it into the running back's back, while he was engaged in a block. Penix looked like a true freshman. O coordinator is taking the blame. We shall see. Let's hope it was a one game poopfest and they will turn it around. If not, it may be time to develop the youngster..... https://www.indystar.com/story/sports/college/indiana/2021/08/09/indiana-football-likes-what-sees-donaven-mcculley/5510003001/
  13. here is irrefutable proof as to what can happen when you field your special teams with players not ready.......
  14. I don't know what that means....does that mean bleachers can't be assembled on the current running track? Or that bleacher capacity can't be expanded on one side to facilitate everyone? Did Howe not play there in the past?
  15. I love the architecture of Howe High School. Can you foresee that school return? I know its a little further away...but would it be a playing option for Cathedral?
  16. Awesome crowd last night at Carmel Stadium
  17. Grover is correct for the CG vs Carmel game. First half was awful….constant “Broadcast is streaming” vs the game. Very frustrating.
  18. Yes...enjoyed seeing his 37 yd TD run from various angles on social media this morning. That young man is a Warrior and a great role model.
  19. Really enjoy waterfowl hunting down on the river area south of Lyons, Goose Pond area, and on some property just west of Dugger with a group of amazing friends. Really enjoy the Linton community and the football tradition. Have a great season fellas!!
  20. Uncle Mark...no need for apologies...you are absolutely entitled to your opinions. We all are...that's what makes a forum fun and interesting. I really enjoy reading your thoughts....I hope very much you continue to share them. Your passion for high school football is fantastic. Happy Labor Day weekend!!!
  21. My vision of Muda this weekend.....enjoy the weekend and stay dry Saturday!!
  22. Hey Temptation...just having some fun. I love your passion for Indiana HS football. Man, its ok if we see the world differently, or perhaps just a topic differently....makes the forum so much more interesting. Keep the posts coming and my apologies for the hi-jack. Now back on your topic....always tough to take a game at Carmel stadium. But I am going with the Trojans and their streak.
  23. If you have some "exceptions" to your theory, you need to post them so we all can see. It seems like you change your theory when its convenient. "Schools with lower enrollments and higher % of free lunches can't compete with the big boys.....unless they are a football factory...." Seriously??
  24. They both own a pretty signficant error IM...no disagreement. But ESPN should have some level of quality control to verify programming before they offer it up to the nation. Without ESPN televising the game, no one really pays much attention to it, do they??
