Is there hope for Attica?
Bash Riprock replied to Muda69's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
Not disagreeing my friend...you are far more closer than I....I just noticed the records were pretty solid up through 2020....was decay already in place? Time flies....do I remember them in a state final once? Or advancing pretty far in the playoffs? -
Is there hope for Attica?
Bash Riprock replied to Muda69's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
challenging times for Attica.... looking at their history...from 2007 to 2020, they had .500 or winning records. Makes a person wonder what changed and did it all start during the pandemic? I did see in the early 2000's, they had some records that align more with the current times. -
No...there are a number of dual competitions in the sports I mentioned. I do understand the difference.

Its all very interesting...I went in and looked at CG's current fall sports teams schedules, and their previous winter and spring sports schedules. Warren is much more consistent....they only play CG boys and girls in basketball. (at least what I could see) Carmel does compete against CG in a variety of sports such as tennis, track, golf, volleyball, wrestling, etc. Carmel does not play CG in football, basketball, baseball or softball. (at least in the past year) (this does not include events such as track invitationals where they could come up against each other) I am not sure why Carmel and Warren will compete against CG in some sports and not others. All seems very silly.

Love how you assume I haven't watched it.... I don't have the time and energy....and quite honestly, being a holiday, extremely low priority. I was just trying to compliment you on your response tactic to coach.

Temp’s Top 25 (Week 2)

Has Pike turned the corner?....Star is giving them some love https://www.indystar.com/videos/sports/high-school/2024/08/31/pike-football-coach-mike-brevard-on-thrilling-win-over-fishers-ihsaa-indiana-high-school/75033496007/ -
I didn't take it that way....I have no problem admitting if I am wrong. Everyone knew he had the tools....I just questioned his leadership and choices to put himself in the public limelight via social media. I questioned if he could really be the face of a franchise and lead vets in a locker room. So far, he has been outstanding on and off the field. Hope he is successful...I don't wish "bust" on anyone, and it would be nice to see the Bears have an excellent QB...for a change. 😉

Trojans got the big win and Coach Kelly ticked in the post game press conference.....good stuff! https://www.si.com/college-football/lsu-brian-kelly-ripped-for-throwing-tantrum-after-loss-to-usc

All in fun.....I just appreciated your approach with Coach Nowlin...he asked you very simple questions, then you rationalized cheating....using the "everyone does it approach". In reality, nothing like Stalions. You then went with the "outrage" approach at Coach.....nice tactic in "flipping the script". Patches O'Houlihan would be proud...."Dodge, duck, dip, dive and dodge"...... Coach, I agree with your comment about Coach Lundy at OK State bringing it up Stalions....good stuff! https://www.freep.com/story/sports/college/university-michigan/wolverines/2024/08/31/mike-gundy-connor-stallions-michigan-football-oklahoma-state/75037700007/

Just saying your tactic of “offense is the best defense” is noteworthy. where is that darn caps button????
-
Nice tactic Temp….rationalize UM’s behavior….then go on the offensive and let Coach know he just didn’t understand what he was watching and throw out the accusation of fake outrage. Great deflection!! Well played!!

Coach, wouldn’t be the first time in my life to feast on a big ole plate of crow. Guess we shall see how the real season goes…

I was at Montana’s campus years ago. Cool location in Missoula. Walked up the side of the mountain overlooking the campus and stadium with the big M. Love the Griz mascot!

R.I.P. Arilington?
Bash Riprock replied to Dave007's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
Historically, my Chatard football friends told me that lighting was a major issue to overcome. I just took their word for it. I am familar with both locations. That is why I totally get the Cathedral parking challenges. I also had children that participated in sporting events (JV) at CHS on the turf field and in the gym. -

I totally agree...I know parking is a real barrier. How about throwing in a large parking garage?? 😉 -

Bash Riprock replied to Dave007's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
Totally understand your's and FB16's comments about parking and neighborhood ordinances. Did Chatard used to have the same barrier as far as city ordinances mainly due to lighting? If so, wonder how they got around that eventually and added lights? I do know today's LED lighting technology is more directional and produces less "lighting pollution". But realize that even if got past that, parking would be an extreme challenge..... -
They are in FCS...won several FCS championships....did you mean FBS?

If I am wrong please correct me
Bash Riprock replied to Trojanmp52's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
Sure it was a factor....not the only factor, but one nonetheless...the call gave Westfield a free score with about a half minute remaining before halftime. Westfield carries momentum into the lockroom and they won the game by 6 points. Huge impacting call. That being said, it happens....humans are involved and mistakes will be made by all parties in a football game...mainly players and coaches, but officials are human as well. Hopefully, teams do not put themselves in a position where one incorrect call is the sole difference in the game. I am not saying it was here, but the call definitely had significant impact. -

Temp’s Preseason Top 50
Bash Riprock replied to temptation's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
So instead of working harder and mastering your craft, cut bait and run to where hopefully the competition is less?? Never heard Tom Brady tell that story given his experiences at Michigan and the Pats.....As a matter of fact, I don't remember many sporting legends share that view..... -
Temp’s Preseason Top 50
Bash Riprock replied to temptation's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
No disagreement at all....especially with one of the largest schools in the state. I would hope they'd focus much more on their feeder systems and player development as well. -
Temp’s Preseason Top 50

I wasn't one of them....to be fair, township schools like Warren and BD have been drawing from IPS for years.....it now looks like they have expanded their search....
