Been to many IU games over my lifetime…especially as a youth. Yesterday it was different…it felt like a major college program. The atmosphere was electric. Thank you Coach Cignetti!!

I guess...although Georgia hasn't been there that long...took Kirby Smart to get there, and work for awhile to finally get the Dawgs to the Bama level. Teams fall from that level as well. Look at Bama currently, and Florida after Urban moved on. The question is which direction is Michigan headed with Moore at the helm?

Would assume a blue blood program like Michigan doesn't rebuild...it reloads, right? If not, guess they need to up their NIL game.....and focus more on the portal.

Muda!! Turn that bus around! No need to head to NegativeTown!! You gotta believe man!! Perhaps some good news about his return..... https://www.si.com/college-football/indiana-kurtis-rourke-may-return-quicker-anticipated-injury

Show me a kid in his era that played baseball that didn't try to emulate his delivery....you can't. RIP El Toro......

6A Tournament Discussion
Bash Riprock replied to temptation's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
I think every team goes through attrition...CG at the start of the season lost 2 guys on the defense that have D1 offers. Big time impacted their D and their chances. My guess is that this happens to a number of teams and if they lose certain players, its tough to overcome. But, that's how it goes. Like Cathedral, CG is still a good team without those players...they would have been better with them. Cathedral is still easily top 10 or even top 6 in 6A....and no one is looking forward to playing them. -

I don’t know… you tell me. How many former Attucks players have advanced to the D1 and professional ranks during the last 40 years?? Ask hypothetical questions all you want. History is pretty clear about Cathdral’s performance in 6A. -
He may be correct in this case, even though the delay resulted in the correct call being made. But I just think Smart is such a big whiny Baby Huey.

6A Tournament Discussion

I didn't understand him at all. I disagreed with him. I can read John Harrell's website and know how many championships CHS have won. Bottom line, they have beat 2 major 6A programs this year, and was 3 points away from beating the state champion last year in the playoffs. Cathedral is typically always in the top 5 or 10 in 6A and always a contender. Other 6A schools face depth issues as well. Regardless of 6A or 5A, Cathedral has always punched above their weight class....and won tons of hardware. Hard to find another school that has placed many more into D1 football programs and certainly the pro's. There is not a team that looks forward to playing Cathedral in the 6A playoffs...not one. They are always one of the best. -
Rivalry trophies

Sure hope Center Grove and Carmel get back to their rivalry game and play for the Copper Kettle. Time for some adults to grow up and let the kids play!! -
Wasn't that many years ago when a soph QB Tayven Jackson led a CG team with a 4-5 regular season record (back in the MIC days) all the way to the state finals and nearly won it all...came down to the wire against Carmel. As we all know, a team can turn it around and get hot when it matters most.

USC loses to Maryland and the Army and Navy still rolling. Makes the upcoming ND game against Navy interesting. How did the Wolverines fare this weekend??

oh no....what a bummer if a fracture.... ESPN had reported at least one game. https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/41901239/sources-indiana-qb-kurtis-rourke-set-miss-least-one-game Go Tayven!!

If you aren’t fond of the name I chose, pick another! Just one of many examples that can be used to support Coach’s comments. Tons of examples of great coaches that develop their craft while winning first at lower divisions or levels of college sports.

6A Tournament Discussion

Ok…I guess….but the enrollment of 900+ to little over 2000 must work just fine given the number of state titles won by Cathedral in 5A. Could have sworn Cathedral won against BD and CG this year. Cathedral can play with anyone in the state. -
Coach Moore on his post game comments on CG TV last week after the LN game commented that "next week the Washington Commanders (perhaps he said Redskins...can't remember) are coming into town". Definitely a compliment of the quality of the St. Frances MD team.

How ironic that OSU will have to root on Michigan against Oregon when they play later this season, if they desire a puncher's chance at the Big 10 title.....
-
Spot on coach....John Wooden led Indiana State to a 44-15 record over his time there. He led ISU to 2 Indiana Intercollegiate titles and runner up to Louisville in the 1948 NAIB National Tournament. We all know what he took with him and accomplished at UCLA. https://gosycamores.com/honors/hall-of-fame/john-wooden/19 Even more impressive, during his time at Indiana State, he taught, served as athletic director, coached baseball and earned his masters degree......

Did anyone see the Kirby Smart contact with the Mississippi State QB? Thoughts? He does claim unintentional. https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/41762599/georgia-smart-says-shove-van-buren-jr-unintentional

Great points about clock management..... The QB has to know how much clock left and either get the ball to the sideline or out of bounds with the throw...or run a few steps and get into the slide signaling time out. Just seemed like overall lack of awareness by staff and the field general.
-
interesting thoughts about Oregon's OL....really good insight. Oregon gained 341 yds through the air...10 yds/pass completion avg. and 155 yds on the ground. 5yds/rush attempt. That is sending a statement. Now, about the Oregon receiver spitting in the face of his opponent....and then throwing the tirade in the tunnel. Hope that is dealt with appropriately.
