  1. No matter how frustrated I get with some of the inconsistency, once the game is over, I am extremely thankful for those 750 officials. Hopefully we can get that number to grow, or Indiana high school football as we know it could look a lot different in the years to come with not all games happening on Friday nights.
  2. This guy is starting to sound a lot like that Cody guy. How many D1 athletes Fountain Central got on their roster this year if you don't mind me asking?
  3. Is Harding's 06 Championship included in the 23 titles? Forgot how good Harding was for a couple of years. Without Jimtown, I'm sure Harding and Luers would have that number up in the 30's. I think comparing the DAC and SAC leans more towards the SAC being better historically. However, comparing the Northwest to the Northeast is a way closer comparison when you start adding in teams like Andrean, Hobart, and Lowell (RC if you count that as region). Not sure the SAC gets that playoff help that the region gets from those other teams. Also then opens up the can of worms on where you draw the line at for either area.
  4. Honestly, I'm not even sure anyone except for maybe a couple 5A or 6A programs would sub anyone in on defense unless they were a supper deep team. I mean no matter what we see at the 2A level, we usually have the same 11 cats playing D and we adjust based on formation, not personnel. Maybe before the half we take a D-lineman or linebacker out and sub in a more skilled guy. Other than that, not sure this rule would even be used other than to slow down a high paced offense maybe.
  5. Yes, but I think it would be a nightmare for officials. Enforcing it would be difficult for them, so I don't think it will ever happen.
  6. I wonder what the post season for both areas is overall, not just when the two conferences play each other. SAC bringing home 23 state titles is very impressive, and I'm sure the region has more than a respectable amount. Head to head in the playoffs is a good start, but what would be the overall playoff success of the entire conference from a certain time till now. It would be a lot of data collecting, but that would be the true test to determine which area is the 2nd and 3rd best in the state. I think it is easy to say they are the next two areas after the Indy areas to historically have the best football. The only area you could possibly make an argument for is Evansville maybe but might be a stretch there.
  7. That was the sagarin predictions. He didn't post his opinion. Did you start on those mud slides and beers early today lol?
  8. Maybe 2 or 3 years ago. This is the weakest sectional in the North in 2A. Maybe a balanced sectional, but definitely not a loaded one.
  9. Appreciate the shoutout. Hopefully the TRC can make a little noise in the playoffs this year. Been getting a bad rep about the conference being down this year, but the Zebras were just on a different level than the rest of the conference this year. Best scoring defense in Rochester history allowing just under 5 points per game. Will be pulling for all the TRC teams next Friday in the first round!
  10. Rochester - 48 Maconaquah - 6 4th Quarter
  11. rochester - 34 maconaquah - 6 2nd quarter
  12. Not to derail the thread, but a quick question. Is LCC's enrollment still 1A? Might see them move down in the next few years if that is the case.
  13. I'm not convinced...could you say it right to my face? Haven't seen them play, but have been very impressed with their scores. If they are bringing a lot back from the team this year, Riverton Parke might be in 2A in 2 years. Hopefully they have more talent and numbers coming up after these next two years.
  14. Not saying the defenses' they've played against are any good, but if you haven't seen their offense and the way they run it hop on the ihsaa network sometime and watch a game. It's very impressive. Really good athletes. It will take a very disciplined defense reading keys every single play just to be in the right spot to make a play, then you have to tackle their athletes that are pretty darn good. Their offense is fun to watch. Again you are right, not sure the defenses they have played have any discipline like an Adam Central or Eastbrook might have, but still going to be difficult to stop would be my guess.
  15. Based on youth numbers and middle school, it's going to be difficult to say the Knights can do what they did in those couple of years. The constant change in coaches isn't helping anything either. Yes, the conference has been at 10 teams always. The second a team leaves, another has replaced it the next year.
  16. Can Mississinewa put up enough points to contend in 3A this year? Defense is still very solid, but doesn't seem like they have the fire power on offense that they had a year ago.
  17. Go Monrovia, their sectional is about the only one I pay attention to from the south in 2A. One public school surrounded by a bunch of private schools in the sectional. Go get'em Bulldogs!!!
  18. Eastbrook vs Alexandria should be a pretty good one.
  19. Westfield, HSE...we know what you're searching for, sorry Carroll and Crown Point, it's not happening this year.
  20. Last week of conference play before the tournament starts! Game of the week, Rochester vs Mac for the conference championship. Both teams undefeated in conference play. Same situation as last year. Maconaquah at Rochester - The Braves survived a scare last week against Manchester. If anything, I think it shows how dangerous this Mac team can be. To come back from 28 points down is very impressive. On the other side of that you can't be putting yourself into a hole like that this late in the season. Everything is more difficult from here on out with the tournament coming up. I think this will be a good one. Who wins the battle between the Rochester defense and the Mac offense. Both are very impressive. Rochester's offense had 400 yards of total offense in the first half against Northwestern last week. The wing-T offense is starting to click big time here late in the season. Northwestern at Northfield - Northwestern wins this one. Been a down year for Northfield. However, they are young so things can only get better for them in the coming years. Peru at Manchester - I don't know what is going on with Peru. I thought they would be better than they have been so far this year. Manchester wins this one after an impressive showing against Mac that they probably let get away from them. Southwood at Cass - This game might be better than expected. I think Cass got a great draw with a chance to make it to the Sectional finals in 34. Gotta take care of business this week against a Southwood team that has come up with a few wins. I think Cass gets this one tho. Wabash at Whitko - I think Wabash has the better athletes. It will come down to who plays better defense this week, and I'm not sure either team really wants to. I'll take Wabash. Who ya got this week?
  21. I can make a Gibson Southern and Memorial thread for you guys if you would like, won't take me too long at all to do it...lol (Just messing with you guys)
  22. What might be even worse is Greencastle has beaten 3 other teams this year...yikes!
  23. Sounds like they did everything they could not to put 100 up on the board.
  24. Bluffton - Stop the QB, win the game AC - Limit the big play, win the game
