I like MD and Castle to cover -11. Not sure North, Memorial or Reitz can cover their big numbers though. I would not be surprised if we hold a player or two out and I heard some chatter about Reitz getting hit with some injuries, but not sure the extent. North should be able to finally get some points on the board. If I had to bet, I say they have the best chance of covering of the 3 big favorites.

Hurley has given Fish the green light to run it whenever he thinks he can get it, so it isn't being called from the sideline. The first one against MD was pretty clear, but on the second one I was definitely doing the "No, no, no...YES" thing. He is deceptively elusive, which helps. It will be interesting to see how teams respond going forward. I also believe there are a few more wrinkles that have yet to be shown. In any event, there's no question it is a huge weapon and I agree, it completely changed the complexion of the game.

HH at North Posey and GS at Southridge this week will help shed a little more light on things. Of course the big one is next week in Lincoln City. -
Sure did last night...
-
Sorry, his name is Ryan Wagler. Auto-correct got me.
-
He is very similar to Lindauer IMO. Very even-keeled leader. I was a little surprised Mallory didn't run more. He is slippery.

MD at Jasper should be a good game. I expect MD to give the JCats problems similar to what did in Wk.1. I'm also intrigued by Lincoln at Castle. Will be interesting to see of Lincoln can stick around into the second half. The other 3 games should be running clocks. On the WREF show this morning Ryan Waller mentioned Harrison was without their QB last night.

Took 'em to the woodshed tonight. Tigers looked good. Big matchup looming in a few weeks with Reitz. Hopefully both are undefeated because Enlow will be rockin'...

Memorial (-4) at Mater Dei - Should be a huge crowd for the Catholic Bowl and the only game that should still be interesting in the 4th Q. Kendrick will be the difference. I'll take the Tigers 27-24. Reitz (-11) at North - For all the beef up front, the North O struggles to put points up. I'll take Reitz 35-10. Jasper (-14) at Bosse - Jasper puts a running clock on the hapless Bulldogs 42-7. Castle (-17) at Harrison - Harrison is competitive and separating from Bosse and Central, but still can't break into the win column. Knights 34-14 Lincoln (-21) at Central - After a week celebrating the first W since 2021, things crumbled quickly for the Bears last week, highlighted by 2 ejections on the same play before the half and Coach Artis going into the parent section at the half (and it wasn't to sing Kumbaya). Lincoln 38-6.

Actually, only a handful of the 77 games between Memorial and Mater Dei have had a combined score of 15 points or less, so I'd expect both sides to hit paydirt a few times. This will be the first scrambling QB Memorial has seen so I'll be interested to see how the D matches up.

Mater Dei was in 3A 1995-1996 and 2003-2006, winning 1 Sectional and 1 Regional (2006). All the rest were 2A. Memorial was in 4A 2019-2023, winning 4 Sectionals, 2 Regionals, 1 Semi-State and 1 State title (2019). All the rest were 3A. -
Foot injury. No reason to play this week. Hopefully back next week for MD.

PAC Week 3 Games
tango replied to HereComesTheBoom's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
No doubt. They are usually battle tested. I notice they have a Wk. 8 opening on the schedule though, so being in the 4 school Circle City conference does have some drawbacks I guess... -
Opening minutes of 4th quarter is probably more accurate. Fisher's 39 yd. was at the 11:45 mark and the 22 yd. pass to Anslinger was at 8:31. Thankfully we did not have to hear the "Mr. Sudsey" commercial in the second half...

PAC Week 3 Games

In 2021 I remember people giving you all the business about it being a great opportunity for GS because Memorial and Chatard were both bumped up to 4A. I think everyone pretty much knew South Warren was a juggernaut in 2021 and GS was gonna be in for a long night, but I would imagine having gone up against the talent they had helped GS somewhat in that state game against Brebeuf. I keep forgetting to tune in. -
PAC Week 3 Games

LOL. What Memorial people have naysayed anything about HH losing? As Alduflux mentioned, I saw nothing but radio silence. I don't really know anyone who gives a rat's @$$ about polls. I think your "SIAC disrespects the PAC" thing is more imagined than a reality because with the exception of MD, nobody in the SIAC has really seen a PAC team in quite a while (and certainly none of the top teams like HH and GS). This year will be a lot more interesting with the possibility of multiple match-ups. That's a breath of fresh air for us, but admittedly a tough challenge. I agree with you though, playing a team that beats the brakes off you is much more valuable than curb stomping a weak team. And I also agree with you that us playing the teams at the bottom of the SIAC doesn't help us all that much. It's really just a chance to put in some wrinkles and rest players who might be dinged up. It's why I'd like to see the SIAC go to divisions like the PAC, which I hear has been discussed recently. Even then, in looking at schedules there's some weak teams on almost everybody's schedule. We have Central, Bosse & Harrison. GS and HH have PCHS, Washington & Boonville. Pretty much the same difference. -
Yep, incomplete pass.
-
NO idea what you're saying but its funny nonetheless.. I need to look up STC's dictionary he posted a few years ago.
-
Historically yes, its always been a fairly close match-up. Reitz beat Jasper by 27 last time at the Bowl. And that was a pretty good Jasper team. At least after two games, this might be one of the more challenged Jasper D units we've seen in quite a while (a long while IMO). I have to think Coach Lewis returning to the Bowl always gives the Reitz folks a little more juice and being at full strength for the first time all season could make it a long night for the JCats.
-
If the Mighty Panthers don't beat Jasper by more than 14 there ought to be an investigation. Jasper is giving up 35 points and 400+ yds. per game.
-
This week specifically, or just in general? I used to think the IFCA poll had more validity, but I'm not sure how much thought coaches actually put into it. They have enough going on as is. I think the USA Today poll is probably better than the old AP poll. Since there aren't many small town papers anymore it would seem the chances of "homer" vote are less likely.
-
Yes, based on previous years, but I would take Reitz at that line assuming the starters played the entire game.
-
Would love to play Owensboro Catholic this year...
-
Not a very interesting slate this week. MD/Lincoln and North/Harrison will likely be the only games that have a chance of still being in doubt by halftime. This is why the SIAC needs two divisions.
