  1. I hope we beat them by 50. Total bush league move by Bosse Principal Huff and EVSC AD Andy Owen. Oh well, it gives us extra motivation for an otherwise blase' game.
  2. Rudy, your site is the gold standard. Congrats on the well-deserved recognition.
  3. LOL. I'll bet you whatever amount you want to bet with Memorial getting 2 points against Boonville.
  4. LOL. You think? You saying Linton (who has lost to MD 4 straight years with very solid teams (3 games at home)) could win handily over MD is bolder than me saying Harrison would beat Boonville by 2 scores... But maybe we'll get to see if Linton can end the losing streak to MD this year. They would meet for a trip to LOS, so it would be a great environment at either place. Time will tell if my thoughts about Boonville are off base or not. Believe me there's nothing I'd rather see than them knocking off Reitz or Jasper this year.
  5. I wasn't flexing or being disrespectful to Boonville, just giving my opinion based on past and current observations. In fact, I think Coach Ward is a good coach and an even better person. And, while it isn't a big thing, I was one the sponsors for his weekly coaches show on WREF for several years. I base my opinion on the fact that Harrison is much improved and has a good sized line and several weapons. Bosse doesn't seem to be as strong as Harrison (we'll find out Friday night), but its pretty well-known that one of the reasons Boonville cited as for not wanting to join the SIAC in 2020 was having an undefeated team get taken to the wire by a 2 win Bosse team in 2018. If Boonville was undefeated I might feel differently, but from what I saw of them this summer and feeling they will be 5-4 heading into the tournament, its my opinion they would have trouble against Harrison and maybe to a lesser extent, Bosse. Last year they lost to a 3 win Reitz team that was hit with a key injury and was no where near as competitive as they are this year. When the tournament rolls around, a team like Harrison / Bosse having a chance to play someone besides Reitz, Memorial or Jasper will probably get them pretty motivated.
  6. I'm just glad we can avoid a drive to Brazil....
  7. Northview is now in S21 with Roncalli & Brebeuf. S24 is 6 SIAC plus Boonville.
  8. If you are talking all conference sports and not just football, I can't imagine Gibson Southern would want the step up in competition. With the exception of football, girls basketball and softball, they would struggle to be middle of the pack in most everything else. And I mean no disrespect to Gibson Southern in saying that. It's the reality of playing in a conference with larger schools much larger.
  9. Only if they get a crazy draw. I think Bosse and Harrison would both beat them by a couple of scores. Pioneers would need a bye and then something crazy to happen, like Central upsetting someone. Boonville isn't going to compete with Reitz, Memorial or Jasper.
  10. I'm looking forward to seeing if Castle and Memorial can find a way to slow down the Reitz offense.
  11. It would be Semi-State. Linton is S37. MD is S40. If MD takes the sectional they would likely face Scecina or Brownstown in Regional.
  12. Woah Nelly, I think you mean Brian Jackson at WSTO...
  13. Where is Guerzini? Was he dressed @SEAL_63? Kudos to Castle's kicker, she took a pretty good pop making the tackle, but she sure wasn't afraid of the contact. We will find a little more out about Reitz over the next few weeks - Castle at home, then at Memorial. At this point both are IMO the top 2 defenses. No surprise MD righted the ship at Jasper after 2 straight losses. Probably wasn't much fun at practices on Harmony Way last week. Jasper should get happy against the Bears in the first of three straight road trips for the JCats. Any word when the injured players will return? Castle - Reitz will get the talk, but I'm also intrigued by MD - North. A Husky W would not only give them their first over MD since 2007, it sets them up for getting the winning record they've been chasing. Good article on the Courier site about Central trying to remain positive in a challenging year, which mentions the transfers of some key players. Would be interesting to see an article about all the EVSC transfers as there seems to be more than usual this year, with different levels of scrutiny/challenge depending upon the destination school. C'est la vie I guess...
  14. Harrison is much improved over recent years. Good size in the trenches and several threats. 9 (Jackson), 31 (Wadlington) and 81 (Thomas) are very good.
  15. Surprised Harrison didn't utilize #81 more from TE position tonight. Kid is a beast and could really help sustain drives and run clock, which seemed to be part of the HHS game plan. Would fit well in our O for sure.
  16. Castle, Memorial, Harrison, Mater Dei, Jasper.
  17. Then Hendrix Magley's team might have negative points. Mike Goebel is usually between the numbers and the hash. LOL.
  18. Don't overlook Mater Dei in the South. They have room to improve in the trenches and in the secondary, but give Mike Goebel another month and the Wildcats will be a very tough out in 2A.
  19. Reitz is a 60 point favorite? LOL. With those lines, I would take: Central to cover (I think it would be a BAD political move for Coach Brunson / Reitz to beat the EVSC AD's former school that bad Castle and the points with VL ML MD and the points (is Jasper still short-handed? Their O looked worse than ours in Wk. 2) sprinkle North to cover Memorial to cover an alt. spread of -16 for the Uncle Buck big payday of the year
  20. I'm curious as to how that is possible? I get (and welcome) refs being more lax on penalties in a lower level (MS, frosh, etc.) game, but not at the varsity level. Besides, the game was in IN..
  21. Regional. Semi-state would be Roncalli or New Pal.
