  1. But they took out the sidewalk between the scoreboard and the fence!!
  2. No worries. As I said, good topic to get us through the off-season...
  3. I tried to tell him yesterday. Its a good topic so now I'm just ignoring it..
  4. I agree, but prior to 1985 it might be tough to glean much because some good teams missed out on the post-season due to the cluster-"you-know-what" of the cluster system...
  5. Drew looks like he's been working the farm out there in St. Phillip...

  7. Ev. Memorial has never played in 2A. We were in 3A from 1985 through 2018. In 2019 we became the only 3A to win state in 4A after being bumped because of the SF. And we've always bled blue blood. . . IU hasn't been a blue blood since Calbert Cheaney graduated.
  8. This is exactly why the schools and IHSAA need to stay hell out of eligibility decisions. Owen doesn't care about what is best for Rode. He just doesn't want him to play at Memorial because Owen hates Memorial. By the way, why are kids precluded from switching schools when coaches aren't? Just this week, former Princeton girls basketball coach Brittney Maners took the same job at Jasper. From her comments in the paper, it is clear she felt Jasper offered a competitive environment that did not exist at Princeton. But so far, nobody has told her she has to sit out or only coach JV. Brunson coached at Mt. Vernon before taking the Reitz job (and Harrison before taking the MV job), Zirklebach coached at Reitz before taking the Central job, Schnur coached at North last season and is now moving to Princeton. Why aren't they limited to coaching JV? Obviously, that assertion is silly, but why is it not silly to tell a kid that? Especially when the kid only has a limited number of years to begin with?
  9. Off topic, but also somewhat unique is Evansville Memorial having a football/futbol sweep in 2017 and 2019.
  10. I believe the 09/30/2022 game between the FJ Reitz Panthers and Reitz Memorial Tigers will be the 100th meeting of the two schools in football.
  11. The Mt. Vernon Fortville Marauders broke the spell this year.
  12. Not a surprise. Now the SIAC ADs need to get together and create 2 divisions to free up Wks. 1-2 for non-conference games.
  13. Ahhh. Bad info. A frosh isn't really a transfer, right? BTW, I meant nothing negative with the post at all. I think any HS athlete should be able to transfer whenever and wherever they want. Nobody makes the speech, band or German club kid sit out a year if they transfer. All three of our primary RBs graduated. We have a transfer from Central, who came to them from Westfield, but last I heard Central was not releasing him. I hear we also have a transfer from Mater Dei. I suspect nobody on the GID will care about that one. Transfer portal, school choice, I guess you can call it whatever you want, but why shouldn't a kid be able to attend whatever school he or she wants and fully participate in all extra-curricular activities that help them become well-rounded young adults? Ouch. That has to sting. I wonder if they will try to come back to the SIAC?
  14. I heard GS was getting a transfer from IL who is a QB...
  15. That is correct Coach. Both use the turf fields for all sorts of athletic and non-athletic purposes. Great investments for each school.
  16. Any chance the Titans schedule some real Tigers in Wk. 8?
  17. The student that transferred to Memorial came for the academics.
  18. I already knew all that. Known it for years... Also know the kids who went to Reitz have been cleared. Because the EVSC and IHSAA is all about the kids...
  19. Yes, a former player from Central has enrolled at Memorial but last I heard he has not been released and is going through IHSAA appeal.
  20. Says he's accepting another position elsewhere. It's tough to build anything when there's a revolving door on the coach's office.
  21. Heard they picked up several from Central who've all been released for full participation?
  22. No way we trade Jasper for Washington...
  23. I sure as heck don't want to schedule Cathedral. There is nothing to gain for either school. Cathedral is in a league with CG and few others when it comes to quality and quantity of athletes. We are close to 2A enrollment and already razor thin depth-wise trying to compete in 4A. Last season is a prime example. Barely escape a very good East Central in Regional and then nip and tuck with MV Fortville in Semi-State until our SIAC POY RB goes down mid-3rd Q with a separated shoulder and that, as they say, was all she wrote... Memorial and GS needs to happen.
