  1. That's putting it somewhat lightly, no? Two week suspension starting tomorrow, so he misses the scrimmage (ouch) and then Wk. 1 vs. Harrison. I can tell you that if he played for Goebel or Hurley (among others), his locker would already be empty.
  2. I agree on start times. We are starting at 6:30 in the SIAC now, which is absolutely stupid. But I would go the other way on transfers. Get the IHSAA out of the decision-making process for transfer eligibility completely - let any kid transfer to whatever school he wants.
  3. I think I would maybe add over-confidence as a weakness of last year's Panthers. Not having the sophomore QB was not the reason Reitz lost to Boonville. I fully expect Reitz to go undefeated in the SIAC this year. MD, Memorial, and Castle probably won't be as strong and North never seems to rise to the expectations. Jasper is somewhat of an unknown (at least to me at this point). But once that tournament rolls around pretty much anything can happen on any given night...
  4. Indiana SRN is again livestreaming all Ev. Memorial games this season.
  5. One reason any perceived or actual lack of discipline may not have been apparent the first two years is because Reitz was pretty bad and was never really in a game against a quality opponent where that kind of issue typically rears it's head... Based on what I've heard about the recent incident (and the minimal punishment) leads me to conclude the emphasis on discipline is really nothing more than a social media hashtag...
  6. Yep. The rolling two year cycle should solve that problem, right? What I find interesting this year is that if MD wins a Regional and Memorial doesn't win the Sectional, both schools would be in 3A in 2024. I expect Memorial and MD will both be much better in 2024 than this season, so that would be a doozy of a Sectional, especially if the IHSAA groups GS and HH in there too.
  7. Wow! That is impressive.
  8. Historic is a mighty strong word...
  9. Maybe so. I'm pretty confident in the 6A, 4A, 3A and 1A predictions. 5A will likely be out of the North, but admittedly 5A is probably pretty open. 2A is the one I feel least confident in, only because Mater Dei got so many votes, but I don't see them having enough this year to win it. Triton Central should be a contender. Luers and Andrean are always in the mix too.
  10. I predict all 6 state title winners will come from the teams who received a 1st place vote in these polls.
  11. The lack of 3 "d"s gives much away my friend. We teach better English than that at 1500 Lincoln...
  12. You mean you can't just #hashtag it into existence?
  13. I haven't heard anything yet... Here is the Courier preview of the Mighty Panthers: https://www.courierpress.com/story/sports/high-school/2023/08/04/ihsaa-football-evansville-reitz-season-preview/70481329007/ #discipline
  14. Looks great. Congrats to Washington and it appears they elected to not desecrate the field with soccer lines!
  15. Harrell has the last 10 years or so in the archive section
  16. That would be my bet too. I don't think there is anyone in Sectional 40 that can beat them.
  17. LOL. Working on his TD celebration?
  18. Reitz is going to have to win something before I would put them anywhere near the same category as East Central, Roncalli and New Pal. I think Reitz at #2 is as over-valued as Ev. Memorial being #6.
  19. I see this a lot on Facebook. We post our links to the official Indiana SRN link for our weekly live-streams, but still get phishing links in comments. I delete them every Friday afternoon to hopefully save our folks from scams..
  20. While I would not personally bet the O on 3.5 wins for Harrison in 2023, it is good to see the program trending upward and Coach Sutton deserves all the credit.
  21. I tend to agree, Coach. We use them in our program and while I can't point to any specific data, we seem to be experiencing less issues too. Anything that can be done to reduce impact is a good thing for the kids and the game overall.
  22. Interestingly enough, over the last 10 years Memorial and Mater Dei have each accumulated 15 Success Factor points. MD all in 2A and Memorial with 8 in 3A (2014-17) and 7 in 4A (2018-22). Head to head in that time the record is 6 W Blue, 4 W Red.
  23. Eliminate tailgating?
  24. That is asinine. I guess no Friday Night Lights in Evansville until October?
