  1. As was Ev. Reitz Memorial, although our last teaching brother (Br. Eugene Phillip) died in 2009 after 40+ years at our school. I inherited his Schwinn bicycle. It's so old it was made in Chicago. I ride it most home football games at Enlow Field. Did you ever attend the annual recruitment weekend for potential brothers held at Notre Dame? I went in 1986, although Br. Eugene didn't tell us it was a recruitment weekend. He didn't drive so he just wanted a ride to ND to see his fellow brothers from the other schools.
  2. I didn't know there was such a thing as a simple algorithm.... No question at all - they were very special.
  3. My memory isn't that good, but I would disagree with any Memorial fan who said that. To me it doesn't reflect the mentality of our program. But everyone is entitled to their opinion. As for Jay/Brady, with very few exceptions, most teams need a few extra special players to win at state. Look no further than this year where each of the winning teams seemed to have a guy who was clearly the best player on the field. That's definitely what helped us get as far as did in 2017-2019. I don't see the IHSAA ever implementing an automatic bump for p/p schools, but I know many have a similar opinion. Personally, I think both sides can make valid arguments for & against. I wish we were still in 3A, but its only because the post-season rivalries were a whole heck of a lot more fun than in 4A. I doubt we'll ever have the depth to win 4A again, but I think we'll be good enough to earn enough points to stay up. For my money, Sectional 32 from 2013 to 2018 was one of the most exciting in the state. Good teams with passionate fan bases made for a lot of fun.
  4. Don't make promises for a team you know nothing about . We aren't glad or sad. It is what it is. We will compete as a school of less than 600 kids in whatever class we are told to play in, whether it's against schools with 600-700 or 1350. We would have enjoyed playing HH in 32 Sectional in 2019, and then Chatard at state. Too many teams down here seem to fear them.
  5. Like most of these awards I suppose...
  6. If we're being honest... This might be the year when we find out if the most important number in Mr. Football is zip code.
  7. You get the lights. I'm gonna sit by the fire a little longer and finish off this Woodford. Always hate to see the HS season end..
  8. #34 was a beast. Congrats to Andrean! Not the result we wanted for MD, but the Wildcats had a great run and should be solid next year too.
  9. I think we only did the practice in 2008, then skipped it in the other years.
  10. 1A - Lutheran 2A - Mater Dei 3A - Gibson Southern 4A - Mt. Vernon Fortville 5A - Cathedral 6A - Center Grove
  11. Although Allen has improved his mobility greatly, I don't think Brebeuf can keep it close unless their DBs can stick with the WR long enough to allow the DL and LBs to get some pressure. A few hits early might help too. Brebeuf is going to have to take some chances IMO.
  12. LOL. If I were in such a business I wouldn't set (-29.5) as the line, that's just my prediction from seeing only a few games from both teams. I think a betting line would settle around 17.5.
  13. I've only seen a handful of games this year, but from what I've seen, I would agree 100% that 2021 GS is better than 2013 and 2015. Those early teams had a few great players. This team has a lot of great players.
  14. GS has nothing to apologize for. They've worked hard for a long time and earned their success. Go kick some @$$ and bring another football title back to southwest Indiana. As far as I'm concerned, its a pretty special club down here and GS belongs. Enjoy the week. Nothing better than a practice on Thanksgiving. Make sure your kids are hydrating like never before. WIN IT!!
  15. Even I enjoy a run game like the Colts had yesterday... Holy smokes!
  16. To be honest I still don't have a feel for where things stand and if this is Yr1 or Yr2 of SF. We have enough points (2) to stay up in 4A for a few more years, which is about all I know.
  17. @Muda69I'll give you that it slightly weird the HC named his child after the freshman QB....
  18. Why? Athletes play athletics. Musicians play music. Not sure what your point is but would like to know what it has to do with this young man.
