  1. This was mostly tongue in cheek, but GS is going to hit a lot of pass plays unless someone hits QB1 off his spot. I certainly wouldn't want to be in your D-Coordinator's shoes...
  2. I assume WREF 97.7 will cover either the S40 (MD/NP) or S32 (GS/HH) game on Friday. Does anyone from Brazil know if Northview has a radio station that will be streaming the game? I could put a link on our Memorial Football FB page.
  3. I wasn't responding to you. I was responding the Trojan12 who (I think) was inferring that maybe TigerFan20 was assuming Memorial would be EC in regional. As I've said a bunch, I don't know of any Memorial fan who is looking past Northview. We are going to have our hands more than full Friday night.
  4. What were his numbers as a sophomore and junior? I haven't followed GS as closely the last few years since we aren't in 3A, but my sense is that he has emerged more recently. Obviously he went to camps, etc. over the summer (as I see retweets from a GS fan I know 🙂), but I don't remember seeing as much the previous years. Also, a deep playoff run will probably get him some more exposure (and maybe a lineman or two). Things kind of heated up a little more for a couple of our better guys (Lindauer & Branson Combs) once we won state in 2017. Even with that, Branson Combs was a kid who many thought was under-recruited, much like what is being said about Heltsey.
  5. Exactly... Or "hit someone"! Every time I hear that in the stands I punch (lightly) my wife in the shoulder..
  6. If I'm HH and win the toss, I defer and bring the house on the first play to try to "get the Quarterback" as half the people in the stands always yell during every game... LOL.
  7. Uh, no. Did you read the entire post, which shows Roncalli match-ups involving EC and Northview?
  8. Northview has a lot of weapons. Probably more than any team in the SIAC.
  9. That's even more impressive then. OV must be a damn good team. Lincoln will have its hands full, but they have some tough kids who play very hard for 4Qs.
  10. The field was not an excuse. You guys whooped our butts and would have whooped our butts on any surface. That game was actually a pretty important moment for our program. We were pretty young in some spots and it showed us we needed to be tougher. I suspect the turf was well-received by most, if not all of the BTC faithful, right? Good luck to you guys this week, npatman. I forgot about the Hollow. It is worse than what BTC had. There is no question improving the facility would benefit the Hatchet football program, and probably other sports programs too (soccer, baseball, softball, etc.).
  11. I remember that long drive, painful night, and also that your field was the worst natural surface I had ever seen for a varsity game. Nobody in Indiana has benefitted from installing turf more than Brownstown.
  12. What a game between MD and Linton. Just watched the GCSN replay. First off, the broadcast crew is fun to listen to. Second. I under-estimated Linton. They were a very good team with some athletes. Game came down to just a couple of miscues. Tough way to end a fine season. Must have been a great atmosphere.
  13. So this is the t-shirt graphic I've been sketching out the last couple of weeks.
  14. @Lysander LOL. My ears are a little smaller. Northview has some hammers.
  15. 2005 was when NP made it to the state title game. Since then they've run into a whole lotta MD with a side of Southridge and a sprinkle of Linton. MD will be tough to beat in the Bowl coming off a great win on the road at Linton.
  16. Apparently yourself. Northview is a clear favorite. Lots of athletes. At home. Memorial has 2+ hr trip.
  17. I listened to the radio call. That's pretty much it. But hats off to Reitz for battling back from down 14.
  18. Somewhat disappointing night for the SIAC with Castle and North both losing winnable games, especially Castle at home. The other games went mostly as expected. Congrats to Lincoln for a big win to make the S30 title game and Bosse for giving HH a better contest than what I expected in S32. I was also surprised Reitz hung around so long against Northview. The conference has a chance for 3 titles next week. I would say MD is a heavy favorite, while Lincoln and Memorial will be underdogs with tough challenges ahead.
  19. I cannot imagine the IHSAA would allow a switch to help a team host a later game. If so, Memorial should have agreed to play Central at Central this week, which would give us home field for the championship (if we win of course)....
  20. I don't think there will be a mental let down in preparation. If anything, I think knowing we'll have to ride a bus for 2+ hours to play an opponent who defeated (and kind of embarrassed) an undefeated Jasper team at their own place will help sharpen the focus next week. Plus, it doesn't take too many plays in the Jasper game to see that Northview has some hammers.
  21. Reitz has a great tradition, but the current reality is they are a low middle of the pack SIAC program and have been sub-.500 the last few years. Most programs go through cycles. We have for sure. Unless Northview absolutely implodes, Reitz will be lucky to keep it within 3 TDs. They squeaked by a 2 win Boonville team 41-34. Putting up 41 is great and the RB had a big game (300+ yds), but giving up 34 points to Boonville is the red flag to me. Northview's OL and RB will be a tough task for the Reitz D. Having now watched Northview's game from last week several times, I think Memorial is gonna have its hands full too.
  22. I watched the game early this morning on the WJTS replay. Jasper did not look like the Jasper I have watched several times this season. NV is a darn good team though - good line play, the RB was a handful and D was tough. If we are lucky enough to get past Central and NV beats Reitz, we will be very lucky to get past NV. They look much better than in years' past.
