I didn't attend in person, but watched the stream and it was sad. It didn't take a behavioral specialist to see what players were instigating much of the issues, and the matter may have been avoided by simply benching them early on. Whether the coaches had 3 days or three years, its pretty easy to take a kid's helmet and tell him to enjoy the rest of the game from the sidelines.

How many teams have won state after being bumped up? I can think of 3 - Cathedral, New Pal and Ev. Memorial.

MD certainly has worthy credentials and has proven itself to be a top-notch 2A program year after year. @Screagle Ev. Memorial has 16 Sectionals, 11 Regionals, 5 Semi-States and 2 State titles (3A & 4A); Reitz has 16 Sectional, 6 Regionals, 2 Semi-States and 2 State titles (4A); and Heritage Hills has 13 Sectionals, 10 Regionals, 3 Semi-States and 1 State title (3A).

Pretty good list of games on Wk. 1. So nice to see some football stuff again. June and especially July are just dead months for local sports. My Tigers need to stop the 3 year regular season losing streak to the JCats, but at least we got the one that really counted in October last year...

My money would be on GS to advance further. 4A South is a gauntlet and whoever wins Sectional 24 is going to have their hands full with East Central in the Regional.

As I understand it, they vote a full squad for big & small school divisions, so there are basically 6 schools that make up each All-Conf team. That will change a little bit this year as Tecumseh has joined the small school division.

Yes, but the same Success Factor rules apply to all the class sports (3, 4 & 6), right? It seems a little unclear if the new rolling two-year period starts in 2024.

Does this mean a school like Mater Dei, who has accumulated 7 points over the past 2 seasons, will be moved to 3A for 2024, or does the new "rolling 2 year period" start this season?

I dropped by school last night on my evening cruise and watched the workout. As I suspected, we have a lot of depth everywhere but the trenches. I predict Memorial will be putting the ball in the air more than the last couple of years. We have some younger kids with nice size at OL/DL, but they are going to have to take some big steps this summer. The best part was seeing coach Andy Zirkelbach back in royal blue. He will be a great addition to the coaching staff. BTW, it is the Colts 7 on 7 in Indy this Saturday. We play East Central, Brebeuf and Beech Grove in pool play. I suppose EC will be a different animal in 7 on 7 than back in November when they lined up and ran it down our throats in the Regional. LOL.
