Dang. That’s some rough times. Beyond just having limited guys for the games, there is the entire issue of trying to practice and prepare for games.
-
Wow. That’s a statement victory for jasper. Whatever they learned about themselves in week 1 and 2 stuck with them and they seemingly have their ship turned around out of the harbor

Pat “kicker tackles” McAfee lol

De Pere is a wonderful area of Green Bay to live. It would be my first choice to live if I could afford the houses lol. Great schools there too. As for AR12 I thought he did really well. For me the big surprise came with 2 pieces. Both centered around Antony Miller. 1) I don’t believe I heard Millers name once and don’t think he was targeted at all. 2) Cohen lined up almost exclusively as a Slot WR and effectively benched Miller. Cohen also didn’t get a single carry. Granted I think Davis and Monty are good. The latter especially...but mike Davis taking numerous catches was a head scratcher. Put Cohen in the backfield and feed him carries to offset his receiving. Keep teams honest

Someone follows the greatest punter in the history of the NFL on twitter 😉

I agree definitely will be an ongoing challenge. I like the way the SIAC is headed with 10 teams though. Definitely a plus. And GS might have faired better with non conference games but that is not to say all the other teams will have the same positives

I completely agree with both of you here. I live in Green Bay about a mile from Lambeau and have lived here for most of my life (outside of middle school and high school at Gibson Southern) so I’m tempering expectations of the packers. I think people did sleep on the packers defense.....but not playing the starters in the preseason hurt. It took 3 quarters to get Aaron Jones to have a positive rush it seemed...passing was out of sync most of the night. Also seemed like the Packers were scared to throw it over the middle. Bears have a great defense and incredible LBs but Rodgers can make those throws. Need more crossers and drags imo. Trubisky did okay imo also. I think he made a fatal mistake staring down his receiver on the INT in the 4th and had a few others that should have been picked off but overall I think he did well within whatever scheme Nagy is calling. Nagys plays confused me and earlier on they just looked like a complete mess. The bears strength in offense is probably up tempo short and intermediate passes with feeding Monty as time goes on. i truly believe the packers defense asserted themselves last night. The DBs we have are very good...especially our safeties.

I think my favorite aspect of this whole thing is Heritage Hills is fighting for the conference championship with GS and we keep Southridge. The two best PAC opponents we had and we get to keep them while getting a completely refreshed schedule. Nothing against the other PAC schools like tell city forest park and such but I tend to believe that they are just as happy as GS is when it comes to football and not having each other on their schedule. I was weary at first thinking the SIAC was the better move but I now feel GS is in a much better position living outside the SIAC still. The non conference flexibility is huge and I like that GS can change things up later on down the road if they feel it is appropriate....dare I say...play Chatard one of these years? Lol. That would be a fun regular season game

So I was just looking at the numbers... Gibson Southerns 2020 schedule will have an average enrollment of 1064 students across the 9 game regular season (didn’t include central scrimmage because...its a scrimmage lol) Gibson Southerns 2019 schedule has an average of enrollment of 694 students across 9 games. If you were to remove Southport that average is 499 students over the other 8 games Quite the challenge ahead that’s for sure, but I love this schedule. Essentially going from a 2A schedule to a 4A schedule and making it where the team has to play their best football 9 weeks in a row. No days off

Your resident Packer fan here just dropping by.😬😬😬 how bout that game now? Looks like there are 2 good defenses in the NFC north. reading the comments. The comment on Cohen being a gadget guy is kinda on...Monty is an every down guy and Cohen effectively the slot WR replacing Miller.

Wooof. 103rd right now. PC at -27? I have only seen wood and union dugger in the negatives and I think both stopped playing football
-
Oh I’m thinking more about the wine! Lol
-
Jesus. 👀👀👀.

Looking at GS....they are only keeping, as of now, 3 games on their current schedule for 2020. Princeton, Heritage Hills, and Southport. Rumor that Southridge will also be scheduled too

Top 15 Statewide Classes 1A-4A
DumfriesYMCA replied to hhpatriot04's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
I know nothing of mooresville and assume east central is still good but this is probably pretty close. Evansville memorial needs to be on this list though. You wouldn’t think it after graduating so much talent the last 2 years, but their defense by all accounts is top notch. Offense lost some edge but not too much. Still a very good team. Very good chance they win the SIAC/their sectional this year even after being bumped up to 4A -

Yeah I wouldn’t put GS ahead of WL just yet. Heritage hills is also probably better than Reitz...and all of 3A is better than 4A minus like 3 teams -
Great response 😂
-
I hope southridge is earlier on. Would be better for both teams if they didn’t face week 9 and then again in the first round of sectionals potentially
-
Any rumors as to who will be? I figure the teams who can’t play the SIAC next year are the front runners

S.I.A.C. Week 3
DumfriesYMCA replied to Evansville50's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
I think most people were under the impression that central Reitz and others would improve in the SIAC. Seems to me now that only Memorial North and MD have taken those steps. Also...don’t sweet talk us into believing Memorial’s offense is just as sharp as last year lol....not even Chatard or West Lafayette could slow you guys down last year. Last years WL team had 3 of the best defensive players in the state I believe too, headlined by both Karlaftis brothers. I will eat crow about Memorial’s defense being better this year though. I said it wouldn’t be and all signs say I’m wrong -
I think there was a lot of truth to the people who criticized the hiring of Tony Lewis...i only hope for jaspers sake that when they go to the SIAC next year that Lewis’s experience will help them. I know they had 2 tough games to start but making excuses is generally not something Jasper does

S.I.A.C. Week 3
DumfriesYMCA replied to Evansville50's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
It’s interesting to see the change in how memorial is this year. Last year it was an unstoppable offense. This year it’s an unbreakable defense. If north can score against the varsity defense of memorial...and not just in a big play, but actually driving down the field and punching it in, I think that will be a pretty good indicator. I’m going to guess the score is similar to that of the jasper game 35-21 memorial. But it’s just a matter of how many of those scores are vs the varsity defense and not the backups -
Is GS keeping North Posey next year? Crazy to think the watermelon bowl may come to an end

S.I.A.C. Week 3

Give me the same. The north vs memorial game should be interesting. We will find out just how good north is this year based on this game....I still think memorial wins though. But I’m pulling for North to do great
