  1. Chatard 35-9 final chatard shows it’s the best in 3A imo. Not sure if Southport was full strength. No word from last week on their QB and they had 2 players no playing due to ejections. Also other injuries last week. Even with all of that, I think chatard still makes a statement. Probably the clear #1 in 3A but West Lafayette is also super talented
  2. Week 3:another tough defense. Packers really have had a tough draw with tough defenses but if they can continue to improve the offense against tough competition it only bodes well. That and the NFC is really down compared to the AFC. I like the chances of a good playoff run if we can continue to win
  3. 16 to 94? That’s a crazy turnaround and student investment into a program Is that even possible to have only 16?
  4. You guys are showing calpreps this calpreps that...but look at this. this years team is only 4 points better than last years team according to the computer....which is malarkey imo. This teams defense has really stepped up and is pretty fast. The 2015 team with klem is the only team I would argue had a better defense. In terms of offense...this year it’s really special. In years past running the up tempo, GS almost struggled to drive the ball down the field. It was largely chunk plays and there were plenty of times where you could get GS to a 3 and out. It’s the downfall of up tempo. If you get stalled, you just give the ball right back and the other team can eat up clock. It’s been the gameplan of other teams.....but this years team there are simply so many weapons and they have shown that they will drive the ball down the field if you stop the big plays. It’s truly something different this year. Between delong butler and May at WR, any of those 3 could go for well over 100 yards on a given night. Butler can play RB in place of Spindler...Spindler has really stepped up as a pass catching RB too. This last week we seen a new wrinkle of using the TE a lot more. The OL is also improved over last year in that they are picking up blitzes better and playing smarter. This is all without even factoring in Allen who spent all off season training at camps and going to 7on7s and is playing like a true upperclassman. all in all, the computer projections can say whatever but it simply isn’t as accurate as it should be to speculate like we want to. This year’s GS team is much better than just a 4 point spread over last years and that’s a testimony to how much these returning players have worked to get better. Speculate all you want about memorial vs GS but it’s pointless. I think what we really need to be talking about is this matchup in 2 weeks in the jungle. Last year Heritage Hills smacked GS bad and handed them a 31-7 loss. After the game, Coach Hart was very upset and said on the radio broadcast “whatever it takes, I’m going to find 11 kids who want to play titan football”. Heritage Hills has returned a ton of their team and are locked and loaded. Memorial Vs GS is for the birds GIbson Southern @ Heritage Hills is the game we need to talk about. And imo I would probably rank them 1A 1B in this ranking.
  5. Of course! Never wrong. If Team A beats team B by 10 and team C beats team B by 20 then team C ALWAYS beats Team A by 10+ 😉
  6. That’s pretty cool! I didn’t hear about that. I think this game has been overshadowed by 1 moment at the end of the game that left a sour taste in most people’s mouths...but all in all the game was a great one and Southport is a great program.
  7. Not gonna lie. I had some words for that game. I started manny sanders in 2 of my leagues and was all pumped up that he would whoopin up on the bears. And then they blew it
  8. At least this week we can get some sort of Comparison across the state. Chatard plays Southport and that should give us an idea of how strong Gibson Southern is. It’s not a perfect comparison but it is something. And by default when GS plays Heritage Hills next week we really should have a good idea.
  9. That was a pleasant surprise. Although I’m not exactly sure what the deal with MN was. Maybe it was the packers OL doing a good job against a defense not as stacked as the bears
  10. 3A looks accurate. The 1 vote for #1 of Mish Marian is cute though. Sectional 28 and Sectional 32 are brutal....7 of the top 10 in those two alone Whoever survives those two sectionals are definitely favorites to make it to LOS..but favorites or not they still have to play the game and win. There are definitely teams outside of the 2 sectionals wanting to fight for that bone and will look to play spoiler
  11. GS loses to Southport 43-35 WL lost to Lafayette Jefferson 74-66 Chatard lost to Cathedral 31-21 IMHO West Lafayette 1A Chatard 1B Gibson Southern 2
  12. Maybe Harrell was at The Boat and hit 17 for big money this past week.
  13. There was that one part where Rodgers was walking down the sideline towards lafluer and it seemed he was yelling at him. It was a great win for the team but agreed that we started out hot and then fizzeled the rest of the game. Big ups for an actual run game we had but the passing game is not as smooth as I would like it
  14. I think NP is better than their record shows. They put a good fight against GS and have done the same vs their other opponents. Just haven’t got the Ws...I think it’s more of the same though. HH defense is lights out 42-7 HH
  15. It appears they only credited GK3 with 1 sack and the TFL on Alex was a “QB run”
  16. Now? They have a great QB and have great skill players....from my understanding they threw it 2 times vs Columbus north and then they opened it up vs GS throwing for almost 400 yards. From my understanding...the Brevin Jefferson kid played in his first game of his high school career...and what a debut for 9 catches 221 yards. Probably a kid who might start popping up on college recruiting boards if he keeps this up.
  17. Maybe you’re right. I really wouldn’t know. It just kinda caught my attention that you spoke to the type of team they were and how they lost their great coach.
  18. @DT I’m not much of a guy when it comes to knowing anything about Northern Indiana football....but I think I highlighted the issue. The best coaches always bring out the best in their players. Idk anything about the new coach or schemes or the numbers they have but at least on paper/your post...just think you answered your own concern here. Replacing a great coach is always a tall task
  19. No no no. Completely separate incident. When he was walking back across the field towards the home stands he apparently was flexing his arms above his head like a Mr Olympian competition. At least that is what the radio broadcasts were saying. There was everything on the sideline. Maybe some taunts over there then from my understanding a completely separate incident after players were separated This is just the way I’m understanding it. There was a lot going on and the video is far from showing everything. Radio broadcast definitely was upset about flexing his arms walking across the field
  20. GK3 watch party 👀👀👀👀 think he is tired of being held. So far in the 1st quarter...2 sacks and an INT
  21. I’m not entirely sure but I believe there were like 3-4 penalties for that play alone. There was 1 for the hit 1 for the lineman then there was another where on the video the ref was talking to one of the Southport players. Don’t know what he did ...speculating he said something the ref didn’t like. then there was 1 for taunting that would leave the GS penalty and 1 other to offset and then there was 30 yards on 2 penalties to be enforced. the videos I have seen there were 3 things where hankies were thrown and then from my understanding there was a taunting that isn’t on video
  22. I seen that earlier and I kept watching because 55 was cracking me up 😂 he had a certain swag to his step with a “you messed with the wrong QB today son” Not that i endorse the extracurriculars, But I always love to see the Big OL guys stick up for their QB. Just one of those things where I sit back and say oh boy with a grin
  23. Heckuva ball game. Titans really put it all out there and only fell 43-35. A 1 score game. Great game by the guys. This is the reason GS schedules these types of games...to get your bell rung a bit and see how you respond. Notes of the game: 1) GS’s OL and DL can play with the big boys. They stopped the run plenty of times and they could run pretty well all game as well as give Brady time to throw on most plays. Some weren’t there and the defense got there but the big boys at GS largely did their job and did a great job. 2) Southport made a number of false starts that put them in less than ideal situations....many on 3rd down. 3) The titans secondary did okay most of the game but the Brevin Jefferson kid was a “back pocket” weapon. Titans could get the Cardinals into 3rd/4th down with a good chunk to go...and Southport would just run a go route and Brevin had it almost every time. 9 catches 221 yards....definitely give that kid a game ball because GS had no answer for him. 4) Just a good all around game that ultimately GS couldn’t get off the field on 3rd down and 3 turnovers decided the ball game Never a thing as a good loss but GS is probably very happy still and will get a lot to build on from this game. this is the box score from the game. Good luck to Southport on the rest of their season. Thoughts and prayers out to their QB who went down in the 4th. Hope he is okay
