  1. @Muda69 this thread is in really poor taste. That’s just my opinion and i personally don’t approve of openly mocking 20 something programs and their players. i don’t know man...even from you I would expect better.
  2. I mean that’s all good and true...but I’m not going to sit here and believe that turning the ball over 4 times had no impact on the game. here are some facts GS turned it over on downs 2 times in HH territory (HH 16 and 33 yard line) GS turned it over in HH territory 3 times (Ints at the HH 12, 38, 45) GS turned it over 1 time on their side of the field (Fumbled at the GS 31) HH had 2 touchdown runs for 66 yards and 71 yards. Both QB runs on the same run play. im not going to say that if none of those things happened that GS would have won, because that’s a bunch of ifs and thens...but let’s not pretend that GS couldn’t do anything. another thing that got me was the game vs Southridge. The second half started 7-7...here is SRs drives. 1)3 and out....Short punt of 22 yards...1 play later HH scores 35 yards out 2) 4 plays and SR gets intercepted...2 plays later 50 yard run for the touchdown 3) 3 and out punt...2 plays later 67 yard run for HH 4) 3 and out. Punt 5 plays later, 35 yard pass touchdown 5) 1 play...it’s intercepted at the SR 21. 5 plays later they punch it in from 1 yard out 6) running clock a string of run plays SR runs out the clock on themselves. HH is by all means a team that Is capitalizing on mistakes and cracks big plays to force other teams into panicking. If you don’t believe me go look at the jasper game. Turnover game was 2-2 for both teams and HH had to chip its way into the endzone every time, no big plays for touchdowns.
  3. are we even convinced the SIAC is producing significantly more division 1 football players? I mean.... Mark Doyle OL for Heritage Hills Ben Butler WR for GIbson southern Brady Allen QB for Gibson Southern are 3 current PAC players being looked at by division 1 schools that I know of and I’m sure there are a number of others HH has a number who have made it to the NFL and probably many more who finished in college i don’t know man....I feel like colleges recruit based on character and athleticism. I know the SIAC has produced tons of talent but i really don’t think it has much to do with the scheme the coaches run as opposed to the individual themselves. HH is a big statement to that by themselves with the alumni they have for a small school of 600 out and away from metropolitan areas.
  4. @Wartortle14 GS has had a specific scheme for the wishbone/wing/double wing/flex for a good amount of time. In the past it has worked great. Other times it hasn’t. I think what gets overlooked is usually the bone is used to make up for size with speed and misdirection.....But HH has both. GS is very capable of stopping it and I don’t know many teams that run their base defense vs the bone lol. Also shouldn’t be overlooked that GSs first half of the schedule is doesn’t have bone/wing teams too much but the 2nf half has HH tell city and southridge. bottom line. GS has to play disciplined football this week vs Southridge and next week vs Salem. They also can’t turnover the ball. HH forced 4 turnovers vs GS...so while GS put up 400 yards of offense, it was to little result. if you turn the ball over 4 times in a game you shouldn’t be close to winning the game at all. And vs great senior led teams like HH that is what happened in a blowout loss Btw @Wartortle14 love the name
  5. Clearly it’s working “perfectly” also this idea that Indiana can’t be a football state is BS. I guess I miss the part where other states produce great Basketball AND football. Indiana you get just 1 I guess i guess that even though this state has produced elite talent in football for decades it doesn’t matter because it’s a basketball state. Just put all the eggs in one basket. truthfully it’s all a joke and a reflection of how Indiana as a whole operates
  6. Just take each regional and seed the top 8 teams. Have the coaches in the regional vote on the top teams and put them accordingly. The other 8 are blind draw where nobody gets their feelings hurt that they are 16th ranked. play the sectionals and regionals the same with home field determined the same way as it is now. the idea that “you would have to play them eventually” falls completely flat when you consider that literally every other sport on every other level of play finds a way to seed...even racing there is qualifying but hey. Indiana I guess just knows better than everyone else. Just look at how we pay our teachers and how our education stacks up to everyone else. every sport, at every single level from HS to pro, in every state and around the world....they do this. But indiana, the state that underfunds our educators and schools while also criticizing them for not being RANKED (key emphasis in ranking) higher than other states, thinks they know better and shouldn’t do the same. I know this may be slightly off topic but come on. Only in indiana could they criticize teachers and such not being ranked higher but also disagree with the idea of ranking its own sports teams. Surprised they haven’t come out and said that studies shouldn’t rank states on how well they perform on delivering an education LOL
  7. Sounds pretty similar to what Heritage hills ran vs the xGS for 470 yards lol. In some ways this is probably a good thing seeing as if GS were to take care of business and win vs Salem it would be good prep for what we can assume will be HH round 2...but then again HH could also show up and run a completely different offense and throw any of that out the window haha
  8. Does anyone know what Salem is like? Really haven’t heard anything about them maybe ever
  9. Gibson Southern lost by 35 to heritage hills too. They also lost to Southport by 8. Yet they are ranked. I’m a GS alum and of course big fan. So I say this recognizing that it’s a tad unfair to punish Southridge like this while GS is unpunished. really the fact of the matter is that Heritage Hills is crazy good. GS was ranked 3rd in 3A last week when Heritage Hills (at the time #4) smacked them 49-14. Then Heritage Hills followed it up this week by smacking Southridge with their first lost 42-7. Southridge was ranked in the top 10 of 3A too. idk man. I get what you’re saying. But something stinks among these voters thoughts for 3A. And I don’t mean that with any disrespect to the members here that vote. It just doesn’t make much sense to me. Southridge has 1 less loss than GS (granted GS lost to 6A Southport) and both GS and Southridge lost by the same margin.
  10. Yikes. No love at all for Southridge. And they played Heritage Hills to a 7-7 halftime score before Heritage Hills broke it open in the second half.
  11. In my 92 team IDP super league we were discussing which teams had the top defenses this year. I feel pretty strong about the patriots defense. But some others wanted to criticize who they have played even though they had a top 10 defense last year. They wanted to hype the 49ers defense. all in all. If you really want to criticize the scheduled opponents even though the nfl is generally pretty close top to bottom compared to other sports, the NFC north has the top defenses locked down. my personal rankings would be 1) patriots 2) 49ers 3) packers 4) bears 5) bills if you factor in opponents 1) packers 2) bears 3) vikings 4) 49ers 5) patriots
  12. Just thumbing through this delightful thread but came across this this likely will never happen. I say this because the PAC was looking into this potentially this past summer. 1 great point brought to everyone’s attention by some member here who I can’t remember their name pretty much shut down the entire thing. say you have your 5 conference games and 3 non conference. So you schedule a non conference with someone on the other end of the HCC. Week 9 comes and cross over game means you now play them agains...and you also found out during week 8 or so that you play them round 1 of sectionals. You now have the possibility to play a team 3 times in a year. Cross over games can make an absolute mess of things. Idk how 6A sectionals work out but to make it happen you have a lot of jumping around to do. Last minute scheduling for the cross over games...a scramble for getting games scheduled.....it’s a mess. the one thing 6A has going for this is the “bye” week for week 10. That could make a conference championship game viable. all together it’s probably best to avoid that scenario all together. Just play a conference schedule and roll into the playoffs. If you play a team a second time that year so be it.
  13. Maybe. I would like to think we should be 5-0 but the loss to the eagles was probably deserving. You can’t average 3 takeaways and 4 sacks a game and then get 0 against a bad eagles OL but it’s whatever. im still happy with the packers. The thing that still gets me is that fumble recovery that was nullified by a false start. The play was full go and the whistles were late after the clear recovery. But the cowboys false start actually saved them from turning the ball over. Never seen that one before. most of the other calls were correct. The hands to the face was the right call even though it nullified an INT. The roughing the passer one is a head scratcher but I think it’s close enough within the rules i hope the packers get home field advantage. I would love to go to a playoff game.
  14. Thoroughly impressed by the packers tonight even after the refs tried giving the game to the cowboys they found a way to keep them at bay. roughing the passer on a dak run play and seconds before he was even tackled was comical. The false start on the center when they hiked it into Cobb who was in motion and lost the fumble. probably two of the worst calls I have seen. Which is on par for a cowboys packers game lol
  15. Are there any big names as the front runners in the MIC or really anywhere? I feel like I haven’t heard any names really. last year there was always a lot of talk between the Warren RB, Bell, and of course Kizer...but this year I think it’s pretty clear Spegal is the front runner.
  16. Heritage Hills is clearly the best in the conference right now. Tell City is doing great this year. I know someone laughed when I suggested that Tell City was a “dark horse” of sorts this year but they are definitely showing they are a good team. Obviously haven’t taken care of business vs the Patriots or Raiders but if those are your only 2 loses this far, I would be very happy as a TC fan/coach Also as of now, Southridge and Gibson Southern are a dead even tie according to sagarin 64.16 Southridge 64.15 Gibson Southern

  18. I’m not too confident we will get the W. But it could happen. we need to stop the run game. Zeke is one of the very best and that OL is superb. So if they can run at will they will. losing adams isnt the end of the world. It really just makes the redzone difficult. Between the 20s I’m very confident in MVS Allison and whichever RB we use. But in the redzone, Adams presence really shows up and is the difference maker
  19. I definitely find it interesting that the NFL was quick to slap burfict on a year long suspension but numerous other players get only a fine. 2 in mind I guess are the hit on Williams and then the hit on Josh Allen in the Bills Patriots game
  20. It’s pretty much how Coach Hart has done it his entire tenure so far. There are definitely exception. I think mostly, it’s a numbers thing. There are 90 kids 9-12 on the team this year. in the past...I wanna say Griffin Scheller was probably the most notable player to play both ways. Dominant DB and could go all the way to the house on offense whether he was carrying the ball or receiving it. I would tend to think this year GS is playing more kids both ways than they typically do. At least in a situational standpoint. Seth Delong has played CB some this year even though he is the leading WR. Caleb Sellers has been playing LB and TE. All in All I think it just comes down to scheme. HH likes to wind the clock down and then hike the ball. Rinse repeat. If they have the players who can play both ways (which they obviously do) it makes perfect sense. For GS running the up tempo, it’s probably not ideal to run a play every 9/10 seconds and then have the same kid play defense. All about fresh bodies
  21. To be clear Southport is really unknown with its matchup with chatard. Chatard fans here on the board even have said after the game they don’t know what to think about it because Southport was without their QB and DT due to injury and there were 2 other players on defense who missed that game due to being ejected during the GS game. for all we know, Heritage Hills may be the top 3A team and Chatard had a looks good on paper game. Chatard probably would have won against Southport either way, especially considering how they played cathedral, but I wouldn’t draw any real conclusions about the Chatard vs Southport game. Chatard fans themselves are not too sure what to make of that game.
  22. Ummm...by my accounts this thread is for Charlie Spegal. I don’t give a hoot about cathedral tailgates, who played on their JV team for 4 years or about Center Groves team. on topic, I seen something about Spegal being offered from Indiana...or maybe they were pursuing him heavily. But I’m not seeing an offer on 247. Is this a preferred walk on like Tennessee
  23. I know it may not be on topic completely but...isn’t Kyle King being looked at heavily by D1 schools? Or is that someone else
  24. They certainly had a chance to bring it to 21-28 in the 3rd quarter. But you just can’t turn the ball over like they did against a good team like HH. that and you have to be able to stop the run. I don’t have a vote in the All PAC voting but I think it’s pretty clear that Sigler is the MVP of the PAC. He is the best player on the field. It doesn’t matter if he is on offense, defense, or special teams.....in many ways, he reminds me of Kenton Crews...just perhaps even more versatile
