Heckuva ball game. Titans really put it all out there and only fell 43-35. A 1 score game. Great game by the guys. This is the reason GS schedules these types of games...to get your bell rung a bit and see how you respond. Notes of the game: 1) GS’s OL and DL can play with the big boys. They stopped the run plenty of times and they could run pretty well all game as well as give Brady time to throw on most plays. Some weren’t there and the defense got there but the big boys at GS largely did their job and did a great job. 2) Southport made a number of false starts that put them in less than ideal situations....many on 3rd down. 3) The titans secondary did okay most of the game but the Brevin Jefferson kid was a “back pocket” weapon. Titans could get the Cardinals into 3rd/4th down with a good chunk to go...and Southport would just run a go route and Brevin had it almost every time. 9 catches 221 yards....definitely give that kid a game ball because GS had no answer for him. 4) Just a good all around game that ultimately GS couldn’t get off the field on 3rd down and 3 turnovers decided the ball game Never a thing as a good loss but GS is probably very happy still and will get a lot to build on from this game. this is the box score from the game. Good luck to Southport on the rest of their season. Thoughts and prayers out to their QB who went down in the 4th. Hope he is okay

GS had some mental mistakes in the final 5 minutes of the half. Southport had a 4 and goal from the 25 and elected to go for it...and in a sea to Titans the 6’5 TE for Southport got the jump ball. Speculation that it could have been batted down. That led to 20-13 Then Brady Allen threw his 1st INT of the year and gave Southport the ball. A few plays later and the GS DB lost the ball trying to turn his head and it was just broken coverage for a nice long ball TD for Southport. 5 minutes of bad football makes it a 2 score game but the Titans have shown they absolutely can stop Southport and score on them. Need to clean up the mistakes and im sure Coach Hart will make the adjustments needed. GS gets the ball to start the half. 2nd half should be interesting. GS needs to get a turnover. They are losing that battle 2 turnovers to 0

I feel ya there. Being out of state almost guarantees you won’t get to see a video of the team outside of highlights. Pretty much get 1/2 chances a year to watch live for GS and seemingly it always has issues Southport 10 GS 7 southport returns a kickoff to the 21 that leads to a score.

That astounds me honestly. I don’t know how feasible that is for some communities. All I am saying though is I wish that was available when I was at GS which was 2009-2013. I know specifically that myself and 2 others had to walk home from practice/games a few times..which at GS is Miles home on back roads. It wasn’t an every day thing as teammates would help if they were going that way... i imagine that at the time if this was available for kids, currently or in the past, the numbers and involvement at schools would be higher. Idk lol. I just never even considered that was an option that could be had 🤷🏼‍♂️

I’ve been taking heat all offseason because I’m a big believer in Derrick Henry for my fantasy team...and with a 170.66 to 116.16 win this week thanks to a big game from Henry all the haters have disappeared lol Now on topic. Browns are good. But they needed to be humbled. Titans are really good and I feel like them having 3 winning seasons in a row is going unrespected

I’m not gonna comment on the other aspects to this, but a lot of people anticipated Vincennes and Jasper leaving the BIG8 it has been an ongoing discussion for years how the BIG8 should disband and join another conference. It has been a topic of discussion here every year and this year it finally happened....but it only happened because Illinois moved to a districts system for their postseason and what not....well not yet but they are going to. That left Mt Carmel (Illinois) in conflict and one thing led to another and they removed themselves from the BIG8 bringing it to 6 teams. From there Jasper and Vincennes joined the SIAC. Bville opted out of that keeping the SIAC at 10 instead of 12 with the addition of Gibson Southern. The 4 remaining BIG8 teams agreed to join the PAC and the PAC is now 2 divisions of 6 teams each. it was a wild offseason but by no means did any not think the BIG8 would dissolve lol. Because a lot of us did and were repeatedly asking for it

I mean the last 2 years have shown GS can play above their size vs HC so I imagine they can do similar vs Southport. I just personally feel like the 3-1 record is misleading lol. If I am not mistaken those first 2 years were the HC team led by the same coach who is now at Jasper

While true. I believe the first 2 years were out of the ordinary years for HC. We did have great teams those years but it wasn’t the same HC that GS faced in 2017 and 2018 where Gs went 1-1....shoot. Last year they shut GS out 23-0 I believe

I think the packers will put up 21-35 points this week. The difference between the bears defense and the Vikings defense is about a mile and overall the Vikings don’t have as good fo LBs which should help the pack establish a run game. I would like to see Aaron Jones line up in the slot though against them. I think he possesses that ability to line up there and perform well. Definitely need to attack the linebackers this week

If mason crosby can miss 4 FGs and an extra point last year to the lions and keep his job, Adam Vinatieri will keep his....he will probably rebound for a huge game this week. The man has had a spectacular 24 year career. I’m not going to doubt him now after 1 bad game.

I have a buddy who is a big TCU fan and he mentioned just today that apparently a lot of other programs follow TCU closely due to the fact that they play in the B12 and face high octane offenses all year. He was arguing that TCU often gives a good indication on how to stop some of the better teams even though they in general lack the talent to get the job done themselves.
