This is the exact thing I’m talking about man... like....why can’t you just let this kid do his thing without comment? The way you talk about him is just in a condescending manner. There are many things that I could say...but simply put, you’re attention seeking now that the spotlight isn’t on you and those closest to you. And it’s about time you let these others have their opportunity to earn that spotlight without you putting them down in any way you can. enough said

@Patriot 74 i dont think banter is the issue. I think the issue is you missed the ship for GS fans being over confident 3 years ago. It really seems to me over the past couple of years the hyping of GS has died down among the fans on here. We all know GS has a great team and is capable of winning. But now it’s just about taking care of business. Heritage hills is definitely circled on calendars....but there are 5 games before that. 3 of them have to be won if we want to roll into the jungle contending for a conference championship. Sectional 32 didn’t even catch a break this year either. Long distance games...HH and SR in the mix. From the way the atmosphere feels among GS fans this year....nothing seems to be taken for granted. Everyone knows what’s possible. Everyone knows the teams who want to stop GS. Everyone knows the numbers to look for....it’s just time to go out and execute. No excuses this year. Go out play the best we can. Hope these kids stay healthy and earn every victory they get. Idk man. The week of Sept 27 will likely get a little rowdy on here but GS still has forest park, south Spencer, north posey, Southport, Princeton before then. We just need to chill for a second I’m sure on Sept 21st things will be wild here. But until both teams have 5 games they need to go out and try to win

i get that there is a lot of dislike for Evans for various reasons but the kid can straight up ball. Nothing against anyone else in the SIAC but from what I have seen here and heard, People just don’t like him or his family. And that’s fine if you are in that belief....But that is the only thing that is stopping people from saying without doubt he is the best athlete on the field every weekend. It’s actually pretty clear to see that people want to judge his football abilities based off of what is going on around him rather than just admit he is a phenomenal athlete.

Smith was the only one who was smart about his contract of the big names currently in Dallas. Reports are saying the cowboys have offered top 5 contracts (by position) to zeke dak smith and I believe cooper too but that may be for this next offseason. Jaylon only had to negotiate a little and was happy so the deal was done in 10 days. Meanwhile zeke is holding out for more money and dak apparently wants 40 million a year instead of 30. good on Jaylon for keeping his goals within the same goals of the cowboys organization.

Media/other fans: GS returns a lot to an already great team. They are looking to make a deep push into the post season this year GS/GS community: yeah you know we have a great community/team/coaches to be competitive with most teams. We have a chance but let’s take care of business this week and focus on winning the conference title HH fans: OMG. GS is so freaking great. Nobody should even freaking try....they are the best 🙄🙄🙄. Crown them champs already. They already have won!

I think the number of students participating is contingent on the coaching staff and community support. I also dont think lacrosse has much to do with anything. I played lacrosse in college at Wabash and there were a number of football stars who played. It’s mostly a spring sport with some fall ball. If there is any sport “taking away” from football it’s soccer but even so, I don’t think it’s anything major. like I said. Coaching and community support. Gibson Southern currently has its largest roster in the history of the school with 90 and it was said yesterday by coach Hart that the youth program is only 6 students shy of reaching its all time record. A school of 650 students having a roster of 90 (9-12)

@Titan32 would probably be able to comment on that. I believe GS has them.

From the radio show last night tell city is returning a bunch of guys and they had a bunch of close games last year. 3rd/4th is about what I see them possibly finishing at. I think they have the upside to go 6-3/5-4. Obviously won’t be easy as the middle of PAC looks to be ready for a nice boost. Lots of 2nd year coaches returning a good number of kids

Tell city a sleeper for the PAC? I seen the 7 on 7 that they did very well in. I think they beat jasper

MFL and sleeper are my preferred sites for fantasy football. With that said...if I join another league I’ll be on the couch for the rest of the football season. 😂. So I can’t join. But MFL and sleeper are the ways to go. I think sleeper is free

They will be good this year but the biggest factor is probably GS and HH are bringing a lot back and SR lost their Qb. Montgomery was a 3 sport athlete with baseball basketball and football but he is deciding to drop football to focus on the other 2. This kid is getting a lot of attention in baseball and a good amount in basketball too. He will only be a junior this year too and I believe has a few offers from schools like Louisville. Amazing kid, but a tough loss to fill for QB

I’m not a big believer in funchess tbh...but autry...man. I don’t know how to explain how bad it felt to have him on one of my fantasy teams last year and have him sit on the bench the game he put up like 4 sacks lol. Im a packers fan so I don’t really follow the colts too much but man. I would say McDaniels backing out and getting Reich was like changing your mind on the powerball numbers and picking the winning numbers doing so. Colts are in such a good position with development/cap management/roster strength.

What are your expectations for parris Campbell? I picked him up in a few rookie drafts thinking that he would be an immediate starter with TY and either Cain/funchess

I’m not drawing questions to the actual concept of getting better, just that saying “get better” is a bad take in the scheme of debating the topic of p/p vs public in athletics. Im not sure there is a good comparison to use but it would be similar to telling a depressed person “don’t feel sad” or if someone were to stub their toe and say ouch and me to reply “well don’t do that”. Basically it’s the idea of person A saying “I got this problem” and person b saying “well don’t have that problem”. That’s what I meant by that comment

I can get behind this too. And while I agree, there are some people in the belief that getting to that game has more implications than just a trophy. Maybe there is a kid that went unnoticed and a college scout spots them on the field during the title game. While sure it may be a game and fun, I think you would be surprised by the number of families who view football and sports in general not as just a game but an avenue to a college education...especially in lower income areas, athletics is a more promising ticket to a college education than academics. That’s just a sad reality of today’s education.

There is no need to include T32 in response to what I’m saying. He is his own man and can/does stand by his comments. I personally don’t agree with separating p/p schools from public schools in athletics. That’s just my personal opinion. But I also agree with the assessment that enrollment isn’t the best way to evaluate level of play for athletics in high school. Sure the success factor helps and isn’t perfect but there are a number of other factors that play into this complicated matter
