It was 2 years ago... Webo didn't select when to win the 2 championships (they try to win every game) and Webo didn't set the guidelines of the succes factor. You won a Regional and a State title and got bumped. The exact same thing is happening to us now. IF we lose this weekend or next weekend, I am not (and I seriously doubt any other Webo Fan) going to troll every post about Mater Dei/Pioneer/Ft. Wayne Bishop Luers. It is what it is, and we will move on and regroup for 3A next year. You should focus your attention on Danville. Lots of similarities between 2018 Webo and 2020 Danville. Because the Championships bracketed a the 2 year cycle. I don't necessarily agree with the cycle. basically you have Freshman that will be Jr. paying for the classes that came before them for being good. Idk, Webo may have had to move up anyway because of enrollment (I honestly don't know) but it feels a bit ridiculous to punish Sophomores/Freshman/8th Graders/7th graders for what classes above them have done. I know that doing sectional realignements every year is difficult as well.

Danville will bump with a State Championship I believe.

There is 1 on OL (62) and 1 on DL (5)... Though 62 will come in at times on DL

Sounds a lot like Webo. With what Webo graduated the last 2 years we had a lot of young kids playing and I am not sure anyone expected them to get to Semi State. Started the season 1-3 and won 8 of the next 9 (only loss was to Danville who is playing 3A Semi State). I think the Coaches have put these kids in position to win both Sectionals and Regionals. You are right, though. The players have to perform.

Danville HC was the former offensive coordinator at Western Boone. And I hope Southridge has more than one DB. Danville has several weapons out wide and a really good running game. Think Western Boone in 2018 except I think Danville is bigger than Webo was in 18. The reference of 2018 isn't a shot at Southridge either. The teams are very comparable to one another. Danville's QB is an athlete and can spin it several different weapons and 2 different running backs that are different type runners, but both are pretty good. Defensively, Danville is solid as well. Both Semi State Games will take place on Friday at 7:30 EST. Danville at Southridge Mater Dei at Webo.

An hour difference in the time In 2018 vs what was discussed above. And I believe it rained the night before or early that morning... both teams played on the same field...

Danville drills Sullivan. 35-16 Webo hosts Evansville Mater Dei on Friday at 7:30 EST in the 2A South Semi State. Danville will travel to Southridge (I havent heard a time/day)

If this was just 1 girls bball game, I think it would probably be rescheduled. But its a tournament and I am sure our Athletic Dept would find it difficult to be at both and I am sure our student athletes would like to be at both. Again, I wont pretend to know everything that goes on during these conversations. Im not against Neutral sites, except I think it takes away money from the schools/towns that are still in the tournament (concessions/restaurants, etc. would assume gate fees to be split anyway?)... They do this for basketball (neutral sites).... This comes up every year (almost as much as DT wanting P/P bumped). Its not like Webo (or any hosting school) did anything special or cheated to get home field at Regionals or Semi State. Its the luck of the draw and the way the brackets played out. Webo had been on the Road for 3/4 current playoff games now. It sucks that MD has a 3 hour drive on a Friday afternoon. They could have had the same drive Saturday morning but chose Friday instead afternoon. Good points.... Basketball has Locations already selected.... Why not Football?

Again, there are other sports going on at the school. Rescheduling a 4 team basketball tournament would be a little more complex than trying to find a day/time that works for everyone for this game. Thats all this is... I am sure no matter the day/time someone wouldnt be happy. I would assume thats why Webo asked for an early afternoon start on a Saturday because of the basketball tourney. Its my understanding the visiting team requests the day and they work together for the time....

I know that there is a Girls BBall tournament this coming weekend which may be why Webo asked for a 1:00 pm Eastern Time (Noon Central). We played Southridge 2 years ago at Semi State at the same time I believe. I wont pretend to have any other insight as to what the coaches/ADs have discussed. I dont believe there is any intent of “gamesmanship” or trying to be “unsportsman like”.

Bobref, we were told it stops after Sectionals. We should have had a running clock in Regionals last year and were told it ended after Sectionals.

What about a waiver granting play on Sunday as well? Playing 3 games in 1 day and trying to either get fans out, sanitize locker rooms/seats, and then the next game starting 3 hours later would be extremely difficult. Wouldn't it make sense to do 2 games a day for 3 days? EDIT: The Colts have a home game on Sunday... So scratch all of the above.
