We start 2-3rd grade with tackle. No kickoffs (each team starts at their own 40) and punts is a 35 yard walk off by the officials (cant go inside 20). Really at this age its teaching/coaching the right way how to block/tackle, but if I’m 100% honest they just kind of run into each other and fall down. We have weight limits to run the ball. Its getting the kids accustomed to pads/helmet and contact.

@Tanka Jaharithis may come as a total shock... Western Boone does not use an EZ camera. Somehow, by the grace of God they were able to win 3 State Championships in a row. I would assume winning without EZ camera is equivolent to playing/winning up 2 classes?

Technically they didn't finish 3rd because no Sagamore Championship was awarded. 😀 I completely understand what you are saying. The kids and coaches worked their tails off and they grew up. These kids losing the personnel and leaders like Connor Hole or Casey Foster or athletes like Spencer Wright and Brett Wethington didn't get the opportunity to have the summer to learn and grow but the last 2 years they have had a lot of practice . We lose 10 seniors, 6-7 that played significant minutes. I think we are all looking forward to seeing what 3A has in store for us.

Fortunate to make it to State? Webo Dominated everyone in the South of 2A. HC gave them some problems in the 1st half, but Webo still won by 2 scores. Yes, they needed a FG to win state, but Webo had the ball 32 of the 48 minutes.

I wouldn't guarantee that Danville goes North. Webo will be 3A next year as well. They may go North (basically I could see them replacing Chatard in that Sectional). Danville may be borderline 4A enrollment (and if they win, they go 4A). It will be very interesting to see the sectional alignments when they come out.

I remember watching him against Danville in Regionals in '93. He was a stud. Danville had a good team that year and got destroyed by that Roncalli team.

110 yards passing 204 yards rushing per game. We have been told we are undersized all year. We have been told we are going to get beat against Heritage Christian and Evansville Mater Dei. We will show up and play. The coaches will prepare the kids for BL and the kids will show up Friday morning and work their tails off for a 3rd Straight Blue Ring. I fully expect to get BL's best shot. Should be a good game... I don't think either team wins by 28 though.

They arent. They are balanced. Average 156 yards Rushing a game and 177 passing yards a game.

Congrats to Mater Dei on a great season. Some talent over there and that may be the Largest 2A team I have seen. What was there 75 kids on that roster? congrats again on a great season
