I got it being a 21-7 type of game with Warren winning Let me be clear about Warren, they won’t win 6A state title with the way their offense is performing now. Brownsburg, Westfield, HSE, and Center Grive would be clear favorites over Warren right now

We agree on that, but do you really believe Crown Point would beat Warren Central if the played? I sure don’t. I do believe Merrillville is a top 25 program in Indiana right now. They should be with all that D1 talent. Warren’s offense is average at best, but with that defense, that is all that is needed

Not arguing that point at all, just saying Merrillville isn’t all that. Everyone thought that 5A was weak last year, if that team is one of the 3 best teams in 5A then that is like saying Notre Dame will beat Northern Illinois by 35 points… Oh wait, I guess that happened…

Please. Despite Merrillville having 47 D1 players on their roster every year, they are annually the most overrated team in Indiana high school football. Warren has the better win over Snider in comparing to Crown Point beating the paper champion Merrillville. Hell, from now on I will refer to Merrillville as the Notre Dame of Indiana high school football

They can show whatever they want, they aren’t beating those 2 teams. 7th is about right for Crown Point

HSE and Warren Central have to be ahead of Crown Point. 13 thru 16 should be ahead Chatard

Train wreck falls inadequately short of describing the dumpster fire of North Side’s program. Having passion is great, not having self discipline and allowing thuggery type behavior from your team is not. That is North Side. Root for them at your own peril. Dwenger is a different story. Their issue in my opinion lies in their feeder programs not producing as they have in the past and also the really good players they are producing are bailing on Dwenger and going to Snider and Luers. I think Garrett is a good coach, but there is a disconnect somewhere with the kids, the parents, and administration. If Dwenger loses tonight to North Side, I believe that seals the coaching fate for Garrett at Dwenger. They will lose to Carroll and most likely Homestead and would be 0-5 to start the season. They would still have Snider and Luers to deal with as well so you are looking at 2-7 heading to sectional play. Not a good look for them. I do think they will get to 3-6, but not much of a difference especially at a tradition rich school like Dwenger

I am sold on their defense for sure. The schedule they have left is not overwhelming either, including a down Ben Davis, Carmel who is iffy at best, and Cathedral who just got waxed by Brownsburg. Those are 3 of their tough games. How can you not see 8-1 at the worst? If you put Brownsburg, HSE, Westfield, or Center Grove on their schedule I think it might be a different scenario

Go back and read what I said about Warren. This year is different than last year. Still think their offense is not great, but the defense is really good. Never did I say Warren was bad this year.

Warren has 4 games on their schedule that aren’t guaranteed wins. Ben Davis, Lawrence North, Carmel, and Cathedral. Very likely, they will be 8-1 or 9-0 heading to playoff time

Ok, East Noble is a 30 minute drive at most to Fort Wayne. Pretty much the same deal for Snider. Both team’s probably had to be at their school by 7:30am to bus to the game. Don’t forget, EVERY Snider game is a road game for them…

I am hopeful that the new head coach will get them going in the right direction. Maybe it is a pipe dream, but Penn has been a great football school for a long time.

I really thought Mishawaka would beat Penn, I really think Mishawaka is that good, but I was surprised at the margin of victory. As always, I have great respect for Penn, but I think it will be a couple years before it happens for Penn to assert their dominance

Prairie Heights is 2-0. They have certainly been one of the worst teams in the state the last 10 years. They will likely come back to Earth this Friday as they play Lakeland, but nice to see them at 2-0

My question to you with BD is how they #19 with these 2 losses? Are they going to be in your top 25 if they go to 0-3?

Dwenger 24 - North Side 14 - Saints showed me something playing Moeller tight until the 4th quarter. This is a must win for them or the season will spiral out of control. North got rocked to sleep on Friday/Saturday by another mean Indy team Luers 49 - Northrop 28 - Knights get a defensively challenged Bruins team who do have some offense this year, but Luers too much in this one Carroll 56 - South Side 7 - Chargers recover after facing the Indy juggernauts and happily welcome South to Charger field. Frustrations will be taken out in this one Wayne 28 - Homestead 17 - Generals go to 3-0 against a disappointing Spartan team. What a beat down Sparty took from Noblesville Snider 49 - Concordia 6 - Panthers offense started to show some life against East Noble. Cadets 2-0 start is surprising, but the big step up in competition will prove to be too much
