  1. Would love to see 5 come to fruition. 2 is DOA....Not a prayer that happens.
  2. sorry, I guess I should have included that lol. The original date was August 10th.
  3. FWCS just announced this evening kids are starting back on August 13th. Teachers asked for more time to prepare for the combination of virtual and in person teaching, as well as putting other plans in place for safety.
  4. I am willing to bet there are people on the right who don't want Trump near a debate stage either. I tell people any debate will be like two old men in a memory care facility trying to argue.
  5. I worked with Mic for several years while we coached at Cathedral. He is a great coach. This is an unfortunate situation to say the least. I am certain he will find another spot somewhere very soon. Best of luck to him going forward.
  6. Secondhand Lions is a great one as well.
  7. I think you are right. There may just be a handful of programs still playing by the time the playoffs start. The IHSAA will press on. What would be interesting to see happen, is see which programs are still playing at the end and reclassify those teams; maybe even reduce the number of classes.
  8. I know that there have been several mutations of the virus since the outbreak. Some strains are far more severe than others.
  9. A little humor in light of all that is going on...enjoy https://twitter.com/coachregalado/status/1287557534157438985?s=21
  10. You sure about that? :) They WILL make decisions regardless of how we feel; that is true. I am not confident at all about the timing of them.
  11. Here is the X factor in these stats though.....kids under 15 have little to do, and it’s been that way since schools closed. They cannot drive, so their ability to go places increasing their risk was significantly limited from March 13 to around the week of the 4th of July. I really do pray that risk remains minimal to them at best.....but that still means someone will get it. While that is a given, no one wants to be the one responsible for throwing a kid into the fire. I have said it many times.......the stats don’t mean much to a community, school, or family when one of their kids gets it, or even worse, when one dies from it.
  12. This country has not even come close to going to the lengths many other countries did to slow the spread. Contact tracing and surveillance are just two things that come to mind. Anyone have an app on their phones here that sends them a message when they are close to someone who has tested positive? I am sure there are other restrictions they had in place that did not happen here as well.
  13. Kids are not giving it to teachers because they have not been in school since March 13th. Kind of a no brainer there.
  14. Regis was always so genuine on any of the shows he did. I loved watching his appearances on Letterman’s show. RIP and Go Irish https://www.wishtv.com/news/entertainment-news/reaction-pours-in-following-death-of-regis-philbin/
  15. To be fair though, his job is to make sure as many people as possible don’t catch anything.
  16. I figured the name change would come as soon as Wolowitz was nicknamed Fruit Loops by the mission crew he was a part of. 😂
  17. The problem Roncalli had in their past with this is that the symbols used identified more with the American version of rebel. The flag you could see at football games was a single bar with stars in it, rather than the X in the stars and bars....way too similar. If memory serves me right, they had a mascot in a gray military uniform as well.
  18. New lockers at New Haven, I am guessing. The new gym is much closer to the stadium too, so a shorter walk. Thinking the previous LONG walk had to do with some of the flags we saw. 🤣🤣 I kid, I kid. Good luck to you guys this season, it will at least be an interesting one.
  19. That could be, BUT if those people tested positive for covid, it very well could have been the cause of death. People regularly survive the flu and pneumonia, but having covid on top of either complicates things significantly, to the point that people cannot survive.
  20. https://www.si.com/nfl/2020/07/21/nfl-preseason-2020-canceled-coronavirus
  21. As I posted earlier, the timing of the name change was planned to be just ahead of the real story with this organization. Sure enough, people are still talking more about the name than they are all the other allegations.
  22. Yep, add in that varsity game days cannot count toward those 10 practice days. The scrimmage cannot count either.
  23. The difference in those two is that in season, the student will have been in school as well. So contact tracing will show more people have been exposed. That said, the possibility still exists in both cases that the kid got it at home. Some schools are saying that there is a possibility if a kid at school has it, that not everyone in the room will need to be quarantined. Administration will look at who was in close contact first and isolate those people.
  24. This is likely the most inaccurate statement regarding one side of the discussion on the entire thread. From the first line, no one who wants to wait until there are more safety considerations in place thinks kids will stay apart. No one has ever mentioned that there is an unrealistic expectation that kids will isolate. The comparisons you are trying to make here are apples and oranges. What kids do outside for a few hours a day with a handful of friends, is NOTHING like being in a classroom 7 hours a day for 5 days a week, with central air with 30 or so other kids, in a building with a few hundred other kids.
