  1. 1. A CFP team.....kind of a big deal. 2. The key word....WAS......Michigan WAS 25th too, so no point really there. And Iowa State was out by week 5; not even halfway through the season. 3. 12? Keep in mind though FCS wins do not count in the CFP Ranking, so 11=11 4. That MAY be; but throughout this season, it was never enough to have them move ahead of ND; but now it is? hmmmm This I would agree with. If Bama does win, all bets are off.
  2. A road loss to an unranked team is MUCH more deserving than a loss to one of the CFP teams????? hmmmm If that is a standard, then beating a 7-5 team by just one point ought to hurt them just as much as a win against an FCS team should; right? Keep in mind too that OU was a lower ranked team than they were. Also, ND played 7 bowl eligible teams......not that I would put any credence in that for either team, but certainly not worthy of having OSU step over ND
  3. Or they will blow it lol 70% 😁
  4. My thinking is that osu drops to a 6; ND moves up to 5th. I don't see any leapfrogging as no one did anything to warrant it based on where they all were one week ago. If Bama loses, they are out of the top 4........70% chance.
  5. chances that the Irish make the playoff....I say they are at 70%
  6. Not sure how it has both Baylor AND OK State passing ND in that.
  7. Nice afternoon for Jack Doyle. Hoping they can hang on.
  8. I don’t see that OK State’s schedule is much stronger than Notre Dame’s. I would add that the one loss for each stands out. ND has a loss against a team in the top 4. OK St. Has a loss to an unranked Iowa State team.
  9. Things like this are why I have so much respect for Tom Allen. “We did not meet the standard that I expect from our football program, and that starts with me,” Allen said. “This season was not acceptable and we will work to address it.”
  10. Seems someone has an axe to grind with certain officials....maybe after the game tonight, we can look to @Bobref to summarize.
  11. I was on the road for over 10 hours today coming home from my sister’s in Maryland. I did listen on SiriusXM….and I thought as it ended, I FULLY expected a few posts under the influence of a few beverages when I got home. 🤣🤣🤣
  12. The fact is the people that are firing him are just as responsible for the mess as Nagy is. It has been known for several years now that the o line was sub par, and a glaring weakness.
  13. Silver Creek High School has assistant coaching positions available at the MS and HS levels. Stipend only positions at this time, but there are several anticipated teaching openings this spring. Interested candidates should contact HC Dave Papenhaus at dpapenhaus@scsc.school
  14. Skipping JV or freshman seasons is a HUGE challenge for programs to overcome, especially for freshmen. They spend a season being scout team players and take a beating for that, and when/if a JV game or even a C game, playing time is limited for them. I understand the necessity for doing it, but in classes 4A and above, it can really set a program back.
  15. Here's a thought....how about we just focus on football and not personal jabs? mmmmk? Yeah, that'd be GREAT.
  16. Good thoughts.....Feel free to start a topic with those points. We really want to just stick to posting openings here. Thanks
  17. Had not heard they opted to play up in those years. Scecina was a smaller school than Cathedral and they were a 3A team.
  18. yes it is fair to say that.
  19. Not really......takes a LONG time to build depth. My only issue as far as coaching went was sticking with Penix as long as he did. I appreciate and understand all that Penix has been through, but it was obvious from the start that he was not the same player he was a year ago.
  20. yeah....I checked the depth charts a couple weeks ago, and found that of the 18 returning starters, there was maybe 6 still playing. The rest were injured.
  21. YEARS ago, it was selected as the best place to watch bad football. As far as atmosphere, it is up there. Tailgating is a blast, and this time of year is a great time to be in Bloomington. I have not been there to see the last round of renovations, but look forward to a time when I can get back.
  22. If this Colts team can find their way to get a playoff spot, they will be dangerous.
  23. Decent 2nd half, but a HORRIBLE start....Rodgers was way off early. Minnesota played aggressive all game long, and Green Bay never adjusted. Defense looked lost in coverage way too often. Way too many penalties and too many injuries yet again. Jenkins looks to be done for the season and that hurts. They do not have much depth now in their o line. I am beginning to wonder if Bakhtiari will ever be the same.........seems to be taking a long time to come back.
  24. Just for 💩 💩 💩 and giggles; scenarios that get the Irish in the playoffs Georgia beats Alabama and Ohio State beats Michigan Alabama beats Georgia by a wide margin and Michigan beats Ohio State Cincinnati loses a game Ohio State loses to either Michigan or the conference championship opponent. Honestly though, as far as the Michigan Ohio State game, the loser is out no matter what. I just cannot see a two loss team getting in the playoff. If Georgia loses big to Bama, they very well could drop out of the top 4. Their strength of schedule hurts them if they do lose. If that game is a close one with Bama winning (3-7 point margin) then they both are in and the Irish are out. Out of these top 6 teams, there really is only one quality win at the moment, and that was Cincy winning at Notre Dame.
