Correction.....the 7th place finisher today would have been Bronze in Tokyo. The 8th place finisher today was just .02 seconds slower than the Bronze medalist from Tokyo.
Incredible race. I thought Lyles won watching live and the review was for 2nd and 3rd. Not sure though. I am also curious to know how many of them ran their personal best.
Impressive win after losing to Alcaraz at Wimbledon a few weeks ago in what felt like a changing of the guard. I missed the match, but to have the 2 sets go to tie breakers sounds like it was quite a match to see.
Most golfers tried downplaying this tournament compared to the Majors, but Scheffler said his goal was to have fun, and it showed. On a side note, American golfers won all the Majors and now the Gold Medal. A final round of 62 is pretty impressive.
