  1. The coach's dad has said some funny things to me on Facebook. Bitter loss in 1989 still stings.
  2. When a Diné coach says that direct quote to a team full of Diné players (maybe a Hopi or two), I think the circumstance might make it okay.
  3. I taught for a while on/in the Navajo Nation. We were the Fighting Scouts. A key phrase was, "Too many chiefs, not enough warriors."
  4. Yes, I know the name well. I was being facetious. Kids get on me for publicly body shaming nowadays. Handsome. https://allthatsinteresting.com/frances-slocum
  5. Here I go off topic a wee bit. When I lived in Ecuador, I met a relative of Tecumseh from southern Ohio, Charley Brown...you might be able to find him...true...Cuenca, Ecuador. He was a direct descendent of Tenskwatawa, The Prophet. Charley said he could see the future, too. And, I always tell my kids not to be judgy but one of those mentioned names is the most handsome woman I've ever seen. Mac something.
  6. The kids in the hallways and classes say that they hear 2 more to come to the TRC. The admin is tight-lipped. We shall see 🙂.
  7. Center Grove should send their B team to play in 5A.
  8. You can't be true to a system that picks its players. It's just a rehash of the success factor from top to bottom.
  9. And Coach Brandewie has landed at Eastside.
  10. FWCS doesn't, generally, rip apart their schools/schedules.
  11. https://www.mcs.k12.in.us/en-US/employment-b63f443d
  12. I would have to check on that. I'm sure most of it is from people simply not doing the right thing to begin with.
  13. Politicians. Codes. Laws. Statutes. Policies.
  14. That's our system. We don't only send high-aptitude students to the local college prep high school, we send everyone.
  15. Our best and brightest are just as good as the best and brightest anywhere. We don't test and send kids to different kinds of schools as in some countries, we throw them all into the same pool.
  16. Poor Luers. Will they ever see that field again?
  17. Our whole system is different, yet we compete well in the world.
  18. That is certainly a view that you've developed. There are many views on what a government should and shouldn't be. What a religious system should and shouldn't be. What an education system should and shouldn't be. Insert choice in there where you'd like. You're a product of where you come from.
  19. I have lived in three, count them three, developing countries. There is nothing wrong with strong infrastructure and helping pay for good roads, schools, and the other social things. It's very hard to live in place that doesn't have good infrastructure and where the man doesn't take care of his place/people. They also use a true system of promotion and relegation because they PAY their players and recruit them. I've also seen some of the top players in their home countries as they develop and move on. Good football in Colombia and S. America. Of course, the best move on to countries where the money flows.
