  1. That's our system. We don't only send high-aptitude students to the local college prep high school, we send everyone.
  2. Our best and brightest are just as good as the best and brightest anywhere. We don't test and send kids to different kinds of schools as in some countries, we throw them all into the same pool.
  3. Poor Luers. Will they ever see that field again?
  4. Our whole system is different, yet we compete well in the world.
  5. That is certainly a view that you've developed. There are many views on what a government should and shouldn't be. What a religious system should and shouldn't be. What an education system should and shouldn't be. Insert choice in there where you'd like. You're a product of where you come from.
  6. I have lived in three, count them three, developing countries. There is nothing wrong with strong infrastructure and helping pay for good roads, schools, and the other social things. It's very hard to live in place that doesn't have good infrastructure and where the man doesn't take care of his place/people. They also use a true system of promotion and relegation because they PAY their players and recruit them. I've also seen some of the top players in their home countries as they develop and move on. Good football in Colombia and S. America. Of course, the best move on to countries where the money flows.
  7. And I was wondering aboout 8th graders at Northwood Middle School across from Dwenger.
  8. New Haven? Concordia? Woodlan? Dwenger? Interesting on where they could rent.
  9. It most certainly does.
  10. https://outsidethehuddle.net/2022/12/05/todd-mason-eastside-ad-aaron-willard-release-statements-on-masons-resignation/ You can see it at the link and I appreciate the frankness in this paragraph: My resignation is not the result of a single event, single person or season. My tenure at Eastside has been riddled with challenges, yet not from parents or student-athletes. The lack of institutional transparency and collaboration has left me exhausted mentally, physically and spiritually. I have lost my hope and belief that our educational leaders are willing to make decisions that are solely for the best for our students.
  11. That makes too much sense for the powers that be.
  12. So, the kids are paying for their predecessors athleticism.?.? Maybe we should make some good coaches resign to make it equitable.
  13. You can't have a true system because the players age out and you aren't picking them yourself from a talent pool. That is very different than the leagues that use promotion/relegation.
  14. Look what happens when Phil Gardner leaves...it gets worse and worse at that place.
  15. You think the other 2A schools aren't homogenous enough? We see good public school programs throughout the country, too.
  16. Ding Ding Ding, we have a winner!
  17. It's not very expensive for a former Catholic school teacher anyhow. 🙂
  18. No mention of your education or knowledge of football players at private schools was made. My speculation and assumptions are just like everything else, based on years of working in public schools in rural and suburban areas and listening to the folks. I'm not sure which private school has gotten you all riled up. As a public school teacher and a product and supporter of both Catholic and public schools, I find that the advantages/disadvantages go both ways. Perspective is needed.
  19. I've found that most people who speak like this don't have much experience with the private/parochial/whatever schools that play tough competition in a city. I see it says Triton, so you might be that same guy from Facebook that talks about private schools in a way that is less than friendly.
  20. You must not live in an urban setting.
  21. I lived in two/three countries with far less organized high school systems. Be careful what you wish for. Oh, but their pro leagues have systems of promotion and relegation.
  22. Isn't this fake news in Indiana? Delete, delete.
