  1. Your posts don't always make me literally laugh out loud. This one did.
  2. I would estimate the number of IPS student athletes in township schools would be at least 10x (conservative estimate) of those in private/parochial schools.
  3. I had the benefit of being able to buy at the gate during games on Friday for Saturday's games, saving the extra $7. If the IHSAA wanted to charge $20 a ticket and they get all the money I'm all in. As much as they may frustrate many of us the IHSAA does a great job. Not a fan of paying a 3rd party that much. I hope they are looking for a different option.
  4. As a former NAIA player and coach, as well as an NCAA D-II coach (Not to mention a father of an NAIA and NCAA D-III football players.) I have to respond.... NAIA has initial eligibility requirements for incoming freshmen. NCAA D-III does not. Get into the school you are eligible. And no, NCAA schools don't necessarily have higher entrance requirements.
  5. At some point in time this must have been an issue to make the rule. I would love to hear the story.
  6. When you play Ritter at Marian there are no HS hashmarks and the goalposts are not swapped out. Its like ground rules being discussed for baseball stadiums/fields.
  7. Usually when people go on a rant about a coach they have only posted a few times. Not only is he a legend he is also a super nice man. 7 teams in the Hoosier Heartland would love to be so poorly coached in 2022.
  8. You're a real peach... I'm not the only one who interpreted your comment as being against schools having athletes coming in on Saturday.
  9. Correct me if I'm wrong, didn't the New Pal softball team lifted on the day of one of their state championships. There are STILL baseball coaches who believe (even in the off season) that pitchers shouldn't lift like every other athlete. Really unbelivable.
  10. For landlocked schools turf is equal to buying property.
  11. Not all coaches will agree on this one. I personally love when an official tells us, "That was a tough call here is why I made my decision." Or even better, "We may have missed that one." To this statement my response is always, "To this point we have coached a perfect game. We expect the same from you." So far they always get the sarcasm.
  12. I was in HS when Marshall closed (abruptly in 85 or 86 if I remember correctly). Many of the students were sent to Arlington. There was a lot of violence since they were rivals and most were upset and forced to attend. At Mt. Vernon we received a lot of transfers when the violence broke out at Arlington.
