  1. ZERO expand quote to see specific questions answered So if he cried behind closed door with his teammates then he gets a pass, but because Mom / Dad right there, because he explained the raw emotion in the presser I posted, still makes him a poor leader. Got it. I have stated many times over, the Chicago Bears have been a fine financial investment option for me and that continues today as well. Since 1986, only 16 different teams of the 32, so if Math is hard, that is only HALF the league in the last 4 decades have been Super Bowl Champions......so sensitive nope, merely pointed out the fact to some of our friends in this thread who have already assumed so much about the Caleb Williams that there is the other side of the coin that I believe I have successfully pointed out with you know actual NFL pedigree folks, backed up with STATS of the original twitter thread I showed, still not sure if you actually invested in reading that or not, plus a former players and current NFL analyst for the mothership network feeling on it. At the end of the day, whether its the 2024 Draft, the 2025 draft, the 2020 draft, etc, its a RISK business, there will be a risk of taking CW 1st, just like it would be if you trade out of the spot and all the other scenarios. I think it is just pure lazy opinions spouted on here about the shortcomings according to some which is nothing more than a regurgitation of headlines across social media and other yappy shows filling way too much time for way too much content they have to create. I started many posts ago stating that RYAN POLES has earned my trust in what he is doing, so far we know for a fact, he prioritized resetting the QB clock over JF extension. That tells me with his staff they have decided that they are going to be as good or better position with this mode regardless of the new QB they draft. Thats what we know right now., It seems as CW is the consensus pick from just about everyone, so perhaps thats what happens, if it does, he will get my full support, just like I would if JJ or MAYE or whoever, its up to him , the coaching staff and players to keep that support by making the next step improvements organization wide. I believe we are on that path, ultimately time will tell as also stated.
  2. It means at some point in this 2 year cycle they will play in the tournament sponsored by IHSAA. Sometimes its in year 2, sometimes right away but IHSAA has to have them included as those schools have indicated they are playing 11 man football. Faith Christian for instance, 1 year of 8 man, year 2 jumping into 11 man this fall, honestly no idea if they are playing tournament this year, but I am sure they will be in 2025
  3. of course, there is that as an outcome, he doesn't perform well, doesn't win, is a headache Then there is the other, which is positive outcomes That can be literally added to every single top draft pick especially QB in the last 20 years. Nothing ground breaking there
  4. Classes officially released today I'd expect by end of April is next Exec meeting so then
  5. In an NFL locker room, their are LEADERS, not 1 sole entity, yes, the QB is the lead voice on the offensive side of the ball, no denying that, its just incredible that some of you want to cherry pick media narratives to drive home your narrative that a player who has won an Heisman while playing the position of QB is going to fail as a leader in the NFL because he sat pissed off on the bench, he showed emotion in the stands with his family and has chosen different fashion choices with finger paint and phone cases........ Except for Michigan sign stealing drama. lots of smoke, no fires. https://www.cbssports.com/college-football/news/uscs-caleb-williams-hopes-viral-video-of-him-crying-helped-spread-awareness-for-mental-health/#:~:text=Following the 52-42 loss,a positive impact on others. USC's loss to Washington last weekend was an emotional one for Trojans quarterback Caleb Williams. Following the 52-42 loss to the Huskies, Williams found his mother in the stands and cried as she comforted him. That moment has garnered a lot of attention over the last week, and Williams hoped it had a positive impact on others. On Wednesday, Williams spoke to reporters and said he is an advocate for mental health and wanted to be his "authentic" self. "Me doing just what I did on Saturday, even though it was far from what I was trying to do or anything like that, it showed and spread that awareness that I may talk about when I don't have tears in my eyes," Williams said, per USCFootball.com. "It just shows truth and what I speak ... Being authentic is important." Williams also noted the loss really stung because of how badly he wanted to get a big win for his teammates. "That's who I am," Williams said. "That's just simply who I am ...That was raw emotion. Being human. Being myself. Someone that cares about this team, these guys and winning especially." https://www.nbcsportschicago.com/nfl/chicago-bears/bears-analysis/ex-nfl-star-gerald-mccoy-has-powerful-message-for-critics-of-caleb-williams-crying/540535/?amp=1 Gerald McCoy has earned to speak with his NFL career in my eyes: YEA, What a LOSER, BABY, POOR LEADER.....
  6. All I needed to read. Thanks
  7. What coach/teammate has actually said this from USC? NFL is the largest entity in sports...no denying its power WORLD wide, those who are paid to cover the NFL also have to generate stories, especially at this time of year, so seems like you like others are falling into that clickbait boredom manufactured stories that are dime a dozen right now. But like I said, hopefully you actually clicked the link I provided and thread and saw the SANITY in that vs the latter. "flex". no flex, just drawing parallelism of an NCAA athlete and how they have acted after games......So as I tagged my buddy there, big IU guy, so assumed he was also put off by how Romeo acted after losses, which I would argue was more egregious because he didn't care, seemed like Caleb cared a lot from a far in that moment. Why do we expect athletes to do act like robots??
  8. PLEASE just click the link, and follow the thread. We've hit the point of NFL off season where boredom sets in and now we are concerned on how a young man sought comfort after a tough loss on an athletic field? What color his phone case is?? My goodness...... @Bash Riprock You must of really hated Romeo Langford in his 1 year at IU.....you know hanging out with his parents in the stands after losses, cannot confirm if tears were shown or not however. Going to be a long 24 days for some of you
  9. Who ranks the "rankers". Pundits......talking heads......list goes on.
  10. thought the same too. been enjoying watching them when they made it to the channels I get. Great call having it in Hinkle
  11. did Ware leave open the, I can come back still? Or is it a done deal, got the Agent, leaving college game? Where is Romeo?
  12. Like to think not, but also would think Bears draft board also had CW right on top just like everyone has had for last 2 years.
  13. saw recently that Charlie Baker is wanting to get the books to 100% outlaw all College Prop betting
  14. My issues was with Getsy was he was way to inconsistent and and WAY Too late to the party to get concepts / schemes that maximized what JF did well, instead he wanted him to be a multi level multi read QB and seemed to lead to a lot of missteps by JF. His adaptability was troublesome from my naked eye. Hard to fully understand when not sitting in room listening to coache sand watching the tape but that was my takeaways from him. He probably is a real good coach for his system with certain pieces needed to run said system. Maybe I am a bit of skeptic of OC who have HOF QB at their disposal, I am sure there were bad calls made into great calls by Rodgers when he was with Getsy.
  15. Saw reports there was 4 or 5 suitors asking for JF, but JF's Agent requested that those teams not be the final destination and led them to Pittsburgh. I believed Poles then and I do now, when he said he was going to "do right' for JF when he makes his decision. Rooting for the kid.
  16. Just putting this out there: Gateway in INdiana where this data comes from is ANY MONEY the school corp pays you. For instance, when I look at my "gateway" number, it is more than the teaching contract with the 2 varsity sports I coach and its stipends. I do Middle School reffing for my AD, school has to put it on my payroll , which came from central office decision, so be it, but those type of things raises the number on Gateway. Just throwing it out there.
  17. #oldtakesexposed I think this is what Dakich refers to as "blogger boys" I talked to IRISHMAN on the side, it continues to BAFFLE me that IU has still not figured out how to find guys who can shoot the ball. IU has fallen into that same trap of others, enamored by "STAR" rating and the athleticism of the ranked players, however, are you recruiting any basketball players or just athletes who play basketball? That is exactly what you see in that post above by CrimQuerry, in the summer, X is just the better athlete and is so much better than Smith is the sentiment.......then the season happened...as a reminder, it was between BELMONT and PURDUE for Smith, IU didn't even bother to look at him. You have to find that balance in my opinion between Tremendous athletes with actual basketball players. I know I am huge Purdue fan, alum, etc, however, I WANT IU to be consistently good as it HELPS Purdue, It Helps B10/18/20/24 whatever it is these days
  18. Buy your Potato farm for retirement yet in Idaho ? 😃
  19. Swift I think is a interesting signing for Bears, reasonable price, but not stupid price, essentially a 2 year contract. Love the Safety Byrad signing and especially the price also. Now with all the QB movements that have occurred: What is logically known? Vikings (just signed Sam Darnold) Pats (Just signed Jacoby Brisett) Commanders. (Still has Sam Howell) 11th, 3rd, 2nd picks How bout this scenario: Vikings send: Justin Jefferson, 11th overall, 4th/5th in 2024: 1st and 3rd in 2025: 2nd in 2026 For 1st overall Pick in 2024: 4th in 25: 3rd in 26. Extend JJ right away. Draft J.J. at 9 Draft best EDGE/BOARD PLAYER at 11. Fields plays next 2 years with JJ and behind him. Give Bears a chance to see if this Coach can unlock talent of Fields, if he does and he turns out to be that guy, then you have trade capitol of JJ LETS GO!!!
  20. Trinity, perennial powerhouse, Alma Mater of Brohm Family and Rondale Moore (bummer for New Albany)
  21. not against it Winner, leader, great qualities to have in your QB
  22. https://thesidelinecatch.com/2023/03/05/does-the-nfl-combine-matter/#google_vignette' For the last decade its been a manufactured made for TV event. I could care less about it, haven't paid attention to it and will continue to ignore it. It is great for the unknown to show some movment skills and go from Undrafted FA to maybe a 6th round pick. It serves its purpose to be able to meet the prospects and get to know them as a person thats about it. I take zero away from anyone who chooses not to throw or Ghost the entire interviews like Marvin
  23. Russ WIlson on open market now too Now you want to talk about a complete mess......Denver $85 Million in Dead Money
