  1. Polls mean very little at this point. Although it was a narrow win for Alabama, it was a road win in a very hostile environment. BTW, their defense only gave up 19 points, not too shabby. Yes, UGA did beat a FCS team by a whopping 33 points, but Purdue also did the same thing...but by 56.
  2. Takes me back to my Freshman days at UK in Lexington. Dunbar, Woodford County (I dated a girl from there), Tates Creek, Scott County, Bryan Station, and East Jessamine are all in the Lexington area. Most of the rest (Owensboro, Hopkinsville) are either in the Western part of the state or Corbin (former roommate--I hate that guy), Pulaski County are from the South and East with some Cincinnati area representation (Covington Catholic, Dixie Heights). My guess is all of the Luh-ville schools are 6A.
  3. I'm still at a loss over all of the pass plays in the late 4th--King Dorue was having a decent game.
  4. you weren't there in my guess so you would have no of knowing.
  5. On Brohm? Did he commit penalties? Make no-calls against Penn State? No.
  6. Same with South Newton? 2-0 for the first time since face masks...
  7. If Purdue loses to Penn State by a lot or even a little, I don’t think it sets the tone for the entire season. They all have seen the schedule, they know who they play and when. It all comes down to execution.
  8. South Newton 14, The Beef House 12 Rebels improve to 2-0 for the first time in a long time. Lake Central loses by 2 to Providence Catholic
  9. Maybe North Newton is just that bad this year.
  10. Merrillville 17, Hobart 7 Lowell 14, La Porte 7 Both in 4th
  11. Lafayette Jeff 22, Michigan City 7 Second Quarter
  12. Hobart 7 Merrillville 3 First Quarter Penn thumping Portage, Rensselaer blanking North Newton Lake Central 7 Providence Catholic (IL) 7 First Quarter
  13. I know it’s just the preseason, but Jordan Love is throwing too many picks. I think Terre Haute’s own Danny Etling would be a much better backup and heir apparent to Aaron Rodgers.
  14. My bad, but my pick remains the same.
  15. I'm still shaking my head at the LHS-CP game. I knew the Red Devils are down, but I wasn't expecting them to get skunked, although I must give the Dogs their props. Onto the CP-Andrean game, the Nines only scored a touchdown, right? Sure it came against Merrillville, and although I know football is not transitive, I still like CP, 31-14. As for Lowell-Portage, RDP 24-10.
  16. Agreed--rules are rules. Although the Pirates are one of the top teams in the Region, Crown Point looked real good on Friday night.
  17. From way out west: West Covina @ San Dimas (-35)
  18. I understand, and it was a bit of a joke. But on paper it does look like a good thing, but with the finals being on 12/2, I see many basketball coaches not being all that enthused.
  19. I've said it before: if all of these others states jumped off of a bridge, would you, too?
  20. Many freshman play varsity for class A schools. I saw the field.
  21. Thanks for sharing, my grandmother also went to East--class of 1932.
  22. Won't happen. Ever.
  23. Great summation.
