  1. Bluffton @ Luers - Luers wins big. Running clock. 56-7 FWBL LCC @ Andrean - Upset of the week. 28-24 Central Catholic Mater Dei @ Triton Central - Like TC here. Think they control the LOS on both sides & force MD to be one dimensional. 24-14 TC Lapel @ Linton - Lapel's better than their record. Finally healthy and playing their best football. Power run game with Big O line & workhorse RB. Freshman gunslinger at QB. Had they been healthy & played all season as they are now, record would be 9-3, possibly 10-2. Can't ignore the 2.5hr+ bus ride however. Lapel keeps it close early, but if Linton gets up multiple scores I can see this one snowballing late. 42-14 Miners
  2. Cal Preps: 2022- 38 2012- 31 2022- 35 2015- 31 2022- 28 2016- 40 2022- 35 2021- 34 Be interesting to revisit when the season ends
  3. Very well said. Anyone who thinks less of Linton or their postseason chances doesn't understand how dangerous that Sullivan team was nor the Linton/Sullivan rivalry. I get the sense that group isn't always the most consistent when it comes to focus and preparation, but when they're dialed in they're really good. I think ultimately the Miners were the mentally tougher team. I'll also stand by my earlier comments - going into the game, anyone from Linton would've happily taken a 9 point win. And, a focused/motivated Sullivan team would be a handful for any 2A South opponent this season. Bottom line, we beat a very good team twice who's strength was our supposed "weakness". And both times by multiple scores.
  4. Pretty simple. Every metric available - massey, sagarin, cal preps - says Linton's odds of beating LCC > their odds of beating Luers or Andrean. Massey for example, gives Linton a 57% chance to beat LCC, but only 38% against Luers or Andrean. Obviously games are settled on the field, but there's enough data and consistency amongst the rankings to confidently say if they played today, Linton would be solid underdogs against Luers/Andrean but very slight favorites against LCC. As you know, the best team doesn't always win. St. Peter's wasn't better than Kentucky or Purdue last year, but they still knocked off both in the NCAA tourney. Massey's current odds of LCC beating Andrean are 28%, Luers 29%. Simple math tells us massey gives LCC a roughly 8% chance, or 1 in 12, of beating both Luers and Andrean. If LCC & Linton both get to LOS the odds probably settle around 50/50 after accounting for games over the next two weeks.
  5. I think Andrean wins. Hope I'm wrong though. If Linton's fortunate enough to play at LOS and avoid Andrean or Luers I like our chances. Wouldn't mind a rematch with LCC to boot
  6. don't see it this way...certainly don't think MD waxes them...but hope you're right. 🙏
  7. So you're really saying LCC wins this one, but in a roundabout way so you avoid eating crow if they don't. Solid strategy.
  8. This has to be a joke right? A tradition rich program like Reitz decides to cut practice/preparation during sectional semi-final week?? Nah
  9. Most vulnerable to a team with balance that can use the run to set up the pass. I don't think a 2A team will beat us being one dimensional. Corners have struggled letting receivers get behind them, safties are aggressive and like to hit, so over commitment by the safties with corners on an island vs quality receivers is our biggest weakness.
  10. Didn't surprise any of us familiar with both teams. Sullivan's record doesn't do them justice. They have gamers and very skilled, dynamic playmakers. Not to mention their strength is Linton's supposed "weakness". Sullivan compares favorably to Lincoln if that helps. Well coached, dual threat qb, highly skilled playmakers on the outside with a legit WR1. Defense bends, but they fly to the FB, and have opportune playmakers on that side also. Solid special teams. Kicker puts it in the end zone & hit a 40yd fg last night IMO, the arrows would be a handful for any 2A school in the south. Ask Owen Valley. That said, great win by the Miners. Just kept battling. Lot of heart on the Miner's side of the field .
  11. So you're saying Linton, Gibson Southern, Owen Valley, Southridge and maybe Sullivan all would have won the SIAC??
  12. I'd day holding Northview to 7 was pretty impressive, but hey why ruin a good story
  13. Try to tell people in this thread OV was very good against the run. Of course all we heard was the "after watching film, OV has a nice team but they'll need to make some adjustments to stay within 3 scores of GS" type comments. I guess they made those adjustmens??
  14. Best them up front on both sides. Shut down run game. Tons of pressure on GS qb, 9 sacks. Pounded the ball on offense. Wore GS down
  15. Copy. I was listening on the radio so didn't see it live, but per the call I believe LOS was 15 prior to the kick. OV blocks kick, returning for a score and ref blows dead. OV gets ball at the 24. Doesn't sound like ball crossed LOS. TBH, announcers were certainly pro OV so kinda took everything with a grain of salt but they made it sound like GS received several breaks from the officials.
  16. Sounded to me like OV wore GS down. Constant pressure on the QB. My guess, this would be a repeatable outcome for OV. They're much better than they were given credit for by most here Got beat by a better team
  17. This! Lot of shade thrown. Patriots better up front on both sides. 9 sacks
  18. OV wearing GS down. Seems they're winning up front on both sides
  19. Thoughts on the blocked FG being blown dead on the return? Sounds like OV is winning up front on both sides
  20. Per radio: OV blocks GS field goal. Return for touchdown, official blows play dead negating score. Anyone there elaborate?
