  1. If I had to pick the order knowing Linton has to face MD & NK in consecutive weeks, I rather MD 1st. NK & MD both play a physical style that's likely to leave a few lingering bumps and bruises. I'd rather play NK a little sore than MD. Looking down the road...if Linton and NK would square off for the 40 crown, Warrior Field will be rocking!!!
  2. I agree. Did I say something different? My point was instead of Linton and Mater Dei playing in the championship they will in round 2, which compared to some other draws, isn't that bad. Sectional 40 lined up pretty well. Pioneer, Cass, Avon, Brownsburg, and others have much worse draws. If Linton swaps with NK how would you feel?
  3. Have you even looked at some of the other draws? What makes sectional 40 "insane"? It's actually a pretty fair draw for everyone. In a seeded bracket Linton and Mater Dei would be set to play in the final (in Evansville). Instead, that game will be a week earlier if both teams get there. Not really that big of a deal. Several sectionals are much, much worse. I would say 40 is one of the more accurate draws if you compared it to an actual seeded format.
  4. Could you expand on why you feel that way? Not saying your wrong. Mater Dei is obviously one the 2A favorites, but Linton isn't too bad either. Admittedly, I know nothing about MD this season other than they've been very competitive in a conference full of bigger schools. I would expect them to be fundamentally sound, probably not prone to beating themselves. Undoubtedly with their schedule, they've played a team or two better than Linton. My biggest concern is an opponent with a strong passing game and excellent run D. I see they've only allowed more than 14 points once. That's very impressive against their schedule! Our pass D has been our soft spot, and while Goodman's had an excellent season throwing the ball I'm not sure how well we'd do if the run was shut down and we had to be a pass first team. Of course none that matters if we don't clean up some mistakes that keep lingering.
  5. 45 was one of the few to come out reasonably close. Adjust for FC/RP/Covington and it would be just about right. The semi finals could look basically the same as they would if it were seeded and the favorites won. Even keeps the two favorites on opposite sides and the most likely darkhorse on the side of the bracket with what would be the #2 seed. The ping pongers were pretty good for sectional 45.
  6. Actually they have both added a fall sport in recent years. Who needs football when you have fùtball?
  7. Thanks & congrats to the Falcons on the great win. P.S. Tanka's going to be devastated when he finds this out.
  8. Check the newset rankings. Jeff must be having some fun. Homestead is #156. Luers now #305.
  9. Thanks for the correction. Is it true that Brian Moore is from heaven?
  10. I'm confused. Brian The Great lost to a coach from Amishville? I feel like everything I've been reading is just lies. What's next? The earth is flat?
  11. Linton 21 North Knox 13 end of 3. NK has ball 3rd & 3 in Miner territory to start the 4th.
  12. Tanka....Do you think Hank Lopez could coach Mike DeCoursey to a mud wrestling victory over Amber Decoursey? I have my doubts. Maybe Woody Hayes could ask Hank his opinion and report back to us?
  13. No he doesn't...but he is kinda funny. Tanka's post have made me giggle a few times. His love for Brian Moore is heart warming.
  14. It's good to see the Turkey Run/Rockville Co-op has found a few athletes. After watching their basketball team last November in the Linton Shootout, I assumed there wasn't an athlete in that entire school. My goodness that team was bad; unathletic, either fat or skinny and nothing inbetween. I want to eat later today, so enough about PH basketball. Sagarin has the Co-Op just outside the top 30 if you combine 1A-3A, roughly 45 point underdogs to 3A leader Chatard. It's always great to see when fans stay humble and see things realistically.
  15. I'm not so sure about Heritage Christain. I do like Triton Central and would add them into the mix. North Putnam is in Webo's sectional. They could also be a factor.
  16. Passing game isn't bad. Effectiveness correlates to run game success. When they're playing their style and tempo the run to pass ratio is roughly 5:1. Out of necessity they threw more vs Sullivan & VL. Both held NK to less than 4ypc on the ground. In both games they got behind and were forced to put in the air more. Not suprisingly, those we're NK's least efficient passing games statistically.
  17. I would flip GS and Southridge. GS has beat no one and lost by multiple scores twice. Southridge has defeated the #8 & #9 teams. Actually, are we sure GS should be ahead of Jasper, Castle, or Mater Dei?
  18. I show Sagarin favoring the Miners on a neutral field by 9 (predictor) and 12.5 (recent). Home field is valued at 1.5. Official Sagarin line: Miners -7.5 (P) or Miners -11 (R)...Official Hick line: Linton -27.5 North Knox has a solid team. They thrive on imposing their physicality in the run game. If you let NK pound you in the face it will be a long night. Fortunately for L-S this is right up their Defense's wheelhouse. They excel when the walls close in. I suspect the Miner defense will lock down the run game enough to force NK into uncomfortable situations. Couple that with Linton scoring fast and often..not a great matchup for NK. To be in the game late, NK needs at least 28 points, more likely low to mid 30's. In two matchups vs defenses that challenged them physically in the run game....Warriors tallied just 18 points in those 8 quarters. Can't see the Warriors getting enough points to hang around.
  19. Kudos to ND on their improvement. That program was in shambles for awhile. When they hired their current coach, some felt he was a steal for a 1A program in the middle of Amish country. He seems to have turned things around and done so quickly. From what I understand ND has some size and a very solid D line. QB likes to let it fly and has a weapon or two capable of big plays. I still think Linton wins this convincingly...maybe close for a bit, but expect the Miners depth and overall skill to seperate them from ND as the game goes on. Miners 41 - 7
  20. I get you're fishing for a reaction. I'm bored so I'll take the bait.... Linton's athletes are better. Linton's line is better. Linton's coaching staff is better. I haven't seen PH nor do I need to. They scored 26 on Attica (nothing against Attica), and you think they'd put 63 on Linton and score in 2-3 plays every possession LMAO. Linton would boat race the Rox/Warriors
