  1. This year they are. Normally the Central part takes care of business, but the junior and senior classes are loaded for the Starfires. I wish I could say my beloved Jets would have a better shot, but it seems they've played worse defensively as the tournament has gone on. Maybe it's kids playing hurt, but it hasn't been pretty. The first match up the Jets gave way too much cushion and South Adams methodically ripped them apart throwing 10 yd outs to #15 Miller. The big blow was when the Starfires connected on the deep shot and AC was playing deep. AC is going to have to find creative ways to move the ball on offense as well. It seems other teams have found a good game plan in slowing down the running game. Northfield did a fantastic job of that. Luckily the passing game was good enough even with a couple of turnovers to pull the Jets through last week.

  3. I stay home and watch The Berne Witness nowadays. I do miss going to games for the atmosphere of a close game. My feeling is waiting a few years until either one of my much younger cousins or my closer in age cousins' kids and my step kids and kids are involved. Sometimes my parents come over and watch with us or vice versa. Like mentioned, not going out in the adverse weather, no waiting in line for concessions, and using your own facilities is much nicer.
  4. We have 48 Sectionals, thus we have 24 total regionals. Why not number these as well? I get not needing numbering after regionals. Just would make it easier to track from a fan's standpoint.
  5. What is the method or reasoning of when presale tickets are made available or are not made available? Just curious if there was anything concrete by the IHSAA or is it up to each school? I know the OHSAA has angered some fans by only allowing presale purchases in person for the first round and championship games. The other rounds have be bought online now it seems. I know I've bought presale tickets as a kid for family and friends, but see that there are no presale tickets available for the sectional final game for my alma mater.
  6. Adams Central vs Northfield in sectional 44. This was supposed to be #3 vs #4 but Northfield upset #3 Southwood. They've won 7 or 8 straight now it seems. They gave the Jets a good game last year in the opening round. That Jets team was better than this years team.
  7. Only know most of NE Indiana this year and that knowledge hasn't really worked. I'm pretty clueless on SW Indiana & parts of SE Indiana. I'm going to keep dropping thanks to a couple of schools I won't name.
  8. Yes working is the reason I am considering the WGU route. My fear is that WGU's program would not be looked at in the same regards as others. I haven't pulled the trigger on anything yet due to this reason. I love working with children as I coach different youth sports in mostly the elementary to middle school ages currently. It may sound odd, but I loved going to school as a child. I love helping my step children with their school work as well. I hear the complaints from some teaching parents about state testing and such and acknowledge that frustration. I don't want to be naïve and think that teaching and schools are like they were when I graduated 10 going on 11 years ago.

  10. They have me concerned for this Friday. I just hope it's not a 2015 regional game deja vu. The Jets didn't look as sharp as I personally had hoped Friday against North Miami. They will have to play much better to win this Friday. Last years Norse team gave a talented Jet team all they could handle in round one. If that happens again, the Norse may come away with the upset.
  11. I know we should have quite a few with the coaches on the board. My question is should I go back to school to become a teacher? I'm thinking either an elementary or middle school teaching position. I will turn 29 later this year with a busy family and have an Associate's Degree in Agribusiness Management that I've never really used. During the summer between my sophomore and junior years of high school, I was talked out of teaching by a neighbor. I've never really knew what I wanted to be growing up as a kid, and guess you could say that up to this point that still holds true. My personality type is the INFJ that lists teaching as a good career field for my personality. I've looked into WGU a small amount, but have not pulled the trigger on anything. Does anyone have any insight or advice they can offer?
  12. Yeah that's how it seemed when my brother played. We drove towards Muncie/Anderson areas for games when we had other schools/traditional foes our size that were in other sectionals. We ended up traveling for regional to the one traditional sectional foe that year and were defeated in terrible weather semi state game at home. I drove my parents while my now wife stayed home with my now step kids. That was a fun year as my brother's little league teammates from Ohio did well and we traveled to watch them for their last win in the playoffs that year. We had Friday and Saturday travel while trying to keep track of college football. Once all the kids are older it would be fun to do that again since the step kids and one of my cousin's kids go to school in Ohio and my kids and another cousin's kids go/will go to school in Indiana.

  16. I'd personally keep the all in format, but have a points system for seeding teams or seeding the top half of the teams in either sectional or regional. Preferably by regionals to create the matchups. Still have the 3rd game (1-4A) and (for most) 2nd game (5-6A) as sectional champions.
  17. Never been so devastated as a fan as a kid. That team was by far better than probably any of the teams we've had from 2000 to now. They were up 21-0 at halftime I believe. Just sickening.
  18. Monroe Central is in 43 and would/should be South Adams 2nd rd game

  20. Best was our 2000 championship team (AC) that should have lost in the sectionals to Southern Wells who went on to win the 2001 championship. The game was pretty much over, but SW wanted to rub it in for slaying the proverbial giant and fumbled. AC got into field goal range and hit a game winner to move on their historic run. The 2004 AC Sectional championship team was a longshot. They were once again pitted against SW who had whipped them by around 40 in the regular season and upset them. I always say it was because of the Jeff and Joel magic (former WZBD radio announcers during those late 90s to early 2000s glory days) came back to do that game after not doing it for a couple years.
  21. Looking at Luers sectional, I'm not sure anyone will have the athletes to stop them speed wise. I can see them going to Regional and/or Semi State. They'd most likely have to play Eastbrook for the Regional. Not sure how they'd compare as Eastbrook was the runner-up last year. Then I'd assume the Cass/Pioneer winner will be waiting at Semi State.
