  1. From what I saw tonight in the 3A games I streamed- it is HH’s title barring something catastrophic.
  2. I’ll eat crow on this one…did not see that one coming. Thought field conditions weren’t great, but man that Oliver kid was a tough cover
  3. THAT was a big holding call before half- WOW.
  4. Haha…I was thinking the best chance the Miners had in this one was sub-par conditions to equal things up. That Brownstown offense is just so hard to defend- especially the first time getting a look at it. Also- they are just really good…and, it’s starting to feel like this is the year for Coach May and the Braves to knock down that door and reach Lucas
  5. Care to elaborate for those of us who don't have access to that board?
  6. We got a ton of rain down around this way last night ....is the Roy still a grass field??
  7. Very political word choice there....reading between the lines I liked how the wording has changed from "community support" to "community interest" ....meaning, you'll have their SUPPORT only if you WIN, and run a system in which they approve! Tread lightly
  8. Good lord...I know you Pats fans are excited (as you should be) - BUT - this game doesn't deserve its own thread. Nothing to see here - Patriots by however many they want. What an IHSAA JOKE.
  9. Lot's of football left to play...things happen (injuries and such) - but barring something catastrophic, I don't foresee a 3A squad being able to hang with Heritage Hills. It's theirs to lose.
  10. The Roy is a TOUGH place to play - but I think Brownstown takes this one - and rather easily if I had to guess. 2TD's +
  11. Geographically, in the current state of 3A - you are correct. There probably wasn't much else to do. However, the IHSAA hasn't always just used geography for such matters. For years, Floyd Central and New Albany came to SR wrestling sectionals (while Tell City passed them going the other way to Jeff) - never made sense GEOGRAPHICALLY. Sounds like sour grapes to keep bringing it up, so I'll put it to bed and let sleeping dogs lie - but the pass the IHSAA gets (few years ago I believe it was Sect. 30 that was laughable) - never ceases to amaze me. To ultimately get to the question you asked - there has been precedent to send SR and HH east and send the Eville area schools up 41 ...but it doesn't just have to be a combination of 31&32. In the end doesn't much matter...just a pet peeve of mine.
  12. 1st of all - Congrats to the Patriots. You guys were the class of the PAC this year and showed your medal last night taking out the undefeated SIAC champs. Well done and best of luck moving forward Speaking of moving forward - it looks like it is a REAL possibility the Patriots won't have to leave the Jungle in their quest to return to Lucas Oil?!? Did I read that correctly? I've made my thoughts known about Sect. 31 (see below) - congrats to North Harrison - but what a JOKE of a job the IHSAA did with that Sectional alignment. In what world can anyone look at the alignment of 31...then look at 32, and think that is a fair allocation of teams?? "I'll just say this one time and be done with it - cause it is what it is at this point - but what a JOKE when comparing the 2 sectionals. Anyone with half-a-brain could have figured out a more even/balanced scenarios for the tournament. Yes, there'd be 2 hour drive times - but newsflash - there are 2 hour drive times anyway already in 31. Again - it is what it is - but the incompetency of the IHSAA just never ceases to amaze. 13. An argument can be made that the 4A sectional Memorial played in was not as difficult as 3A...meaning, Memorial may in fact not even gotten out of Sectional had they been down in class. No way to know obviously...just pointing out that fact We are on the same side on this 32 ....but we (SR) still live in different worlds (than GS). Your point still remains - not ALL enrollments are created equal.
  14. We’ve done pretty well (3 pages worth) of avoiding turning this into a “PAC vs SIAC” thing…BUT - you might want to take off your SIAC colored glasses a bit with comparing the 3rd place SIAC team to a team whose only losses the last 2 years are to Chatard, and some Kentucky state champs. If we’re comparing- I’d say a Memorial/GS comparison (we played them both) is more relatable than a Castle/HH.
  15. Yes - so to clarify - Noblesville has great community support for the Miller's - as long as you run an offensive system to their liking.
  16. The article and Coach Sharpe's comments would suggest otherwise??
  17. Much respect to one of the last of a "dying breed." He mentioned a couple times in the article how his offensive scheme was not "well received" in the community ?? Wonder the specifics of that statement and how exactly he was receiving that message?? Kuddos to him for sticking for what he believes in. We (SR) ran that offense for years, and it served us very well. Pish-posh what everyone else thinks.
  18. The more I think about this game - the more I am inclined to think it may not be that competitive at all. Now don't come at me with pitch-forks Memorial fans...BUT: Granted from what we've heard, we didn't get Memorial's best showing last Friday. That said, the only TD in the first half came via a result of a scoop and score from a SR fumble on a 3rd and 1 from around mid-field. Subtract that, and it is a 3-0 game at half. 2 scoring TD drives in the second half - BUT - Memorial did mount a drive to start the half - but a missed fumble call at the goalline awarded Memorial a TD that probably shouldn't have been given. The last scoring drive was aided greatly by what I would consider a "questionable" DPI call. It all adds up to 24 points in the end - and granted, SR didn't threaten all that much offensively minus a couple drives that crossed the 50 only to peter out with no points. In my opinion - Memorial will have to play MUCH better to have a chance in this game. HH is LOADED...and SR was without several "key" pieces. Every Friday is a different story - just my observations since I'm bored.
  19. Um…HH defense is no joke…And I’m gonna go out on a limb and say probably the best D Memorial will have seen this year.
  20. There are no more SF “cycles” - try and keep up.
  21. 2 of the most rabid fan bases on the GID- so I’ll make my statement early in the week and then just duck for cover. First of all, much respect to both programs. Their history speaks for itself…both have great followings and their players expect to win. Having said that- and From the unique (and unfortunate) standpoint of having played both squads- I don’t think Memorial is gonna know what hits them Friday night. HH by 14+
  22. Appreciate it. Our fellas have been thru the ringer this year- and just kept showing up to work. Injuries (season ending) to 3 senior starters, and arguably 3 of our best (2 captains- potential All State type kids) Never an excuse- I’m sure no one is 100% healthy at this time of year- but would have loved to had our full arsenal last night. Still, an 8-3 season (with our 3 losses coming to #1, #2, and #3 in the State) with all those injuries is nothing to be ashamed of.
  23. WOW - breaking it down Zapruder film style!
  24. In the grand scheme of life - of course. There was no fatality, someone has to win, and someone has to lose. That's how competition works. However, pretty insensitive statement to make to imply it is "unimportant" or "doesn't matter." We have a whole site dedicated to HS football and I'm sure this moment "stings" pretty good for the Danville Football community. That aside - anyone catch the Danville coaches comments about we win/play with "Danville kids" ...i.e. a shot at the Parochial community. I particularly found that comical knowing what I do about Henderick's and surrounding counties and players
  25. Bob - you said on the "officiating forum" earlier in the week, that sometimes refs have to use their "judgement" - and that not everything is so black/white as outlined in the rulebook. (I believe you even said "that's why you guys make the big bucks" lol). From an outsiders perspective with no skin in this game, this would seem to be one of those instances.
