I don’t know the film situation or even who is working on who’s staff. I don’t know the situation from last night either- so I probably shouldn’t have commented. An adult should be an adult, no question there. Thank you for posting the scores- GS is a juggernaut no doubt and clearly we can’t compete with their program- but that doesn’t discount the facts of 3 new SENIOR additions to an already loaded squad. And whether you care to admit it or not- that causes others in the conference to just “throw their hands up” in kind of a disbelief sort of way.

Lawrenceburg v Rushville
jets replied to Purdue Pete's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
This whole situation is despicable and everyone at Lawerenceburg should be ashamed. Bottom line. -
Here’s the deal guys- and you GS posters may not want to hear it- but this “superteam” you’ve built is not being perceived very well around the area. Of course it’s an exciting year for you all, but the way things have transpired and the “new additions” to the team have left a lot of discontent around the area and in the conference. The IHSAA signed off and everything is on the “up/up” as far as that is concerned- BUT, the addition of 3 SENIORS to an already loaded senior class is going to draw the ire of competitive people and give the impression of a “stacked deck” Right or wrong- that is what the narrative is out there and might be the explanation of tempers being heated.
-
Geez lo weez! Now we're turning to Jesus Christ to defend the GS "superteam." Look, no one on here accused GS of any wrongdoing. It's not like any team in Southern Indiana wouldn't have accepted those players. They just all happened to choose to play/live at GS - so it is their good fortune. I don't think you can ignore the narrative however...and I was just wondering how that would sit with the GS faithful. I think I have my answer in that "we don't care. It happens at P/P's all the time" Got it, moving on.
-
Of course - a lethal combination for sure . But again, the naysayers and observers will say they have 0 sectionals between them (thus far) and brought in some "extra help" in order to get over the hump. Again, not saying that is my personal opinion - GS was going to be good this year regardless - just pointing out the narrative that is going to travel with this team.
-
First of all- GS is insanely good this year. Secondly, the GS transfer thing has been hammered home pretty good on this thread. Building “superteams” is not a new phenomenon up/around the Indy area (I have relatives that live in Avon/Brownsburg/Zionsville area, and they keep me up to date on all the moving/shaking up there). But for our rural neck of the woods, adding 4 legit new starters to an otherwise already loaded team (well, I know one played last year) seems a bit...I don’t know the correct word to use?? Curious to know for all you GS fans out there...say you do reach the mountaintop. Will it “sour” it at all with the narrative going around that you had to bring in all this help to get it done? I’m not saying I agree with that- but that will be the narrative. I would think it wouldn’t sit well with me...but I get it- no program on earth would turn away those players.

Linton vs Boonville at the Roy. Trap game?
jets replied to globemstr3's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
Not the case. SR was willing to stay in the agreement....Linton wanted out. -
Great topic. I've said this for a number of years now...but it is becoming harder/harder to be a core subject teacher/coach.

Ok only had time for quick scan of this thread....what on earth did I miss?? Why is Bobref making an appearance and what are we talking about?!

Gibson Southern at South Warren KY
jets replied to Titan32's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
Sorry, I haven't been paying much attention. Is this the only game GS is challenged in this year?? What is the scouting report on this team out of Kentucky?? Maybe it is my Indiana bias - but I find it hard to believe an Kentucky team is gonna challenge the mighty Titans this year?? -
Alright then. Duly noted
-
I actually tend to agree.
-
For goodness sake- this is getting a bit ridiculous. The IHSAA wouldn’t let a transfer play basketball for a year, but GS can get 3 new transfer starters and all is on the up/up??
-
Well...isn’t that lovely. Congrats to the young man
-
Don't recall this name on the GS roster last year ??
-
GS was going to be a beast this year no question...but adding 2 STARTERS from a “transfer portal” (tonque-in-cheek of course) - it is like a “slap your forehead” good grief type of deal. But good for them I guess. Good fortune I guess?
-
So has GS become the new “transfer U” of Southern Indiana?? Neighboring schools, neighboring States...come one, come all I guess? I assume it’s all on the up/up with the IHSAA, so more power to them- but will anyone still have a fighting chance with all these move-ins??

Pioneer Last of a Dying Breed as BIG Money Takes Over
jets replied to a topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
I don't know about this topic?? Just looking at our recent history: In 2017 - won the State Championship in 2A (not bad for a public school) In 2018 - were knocked out in Semi-State by PUBLIC 2A Western Boone In 2019 - thanks to success factor, moved up to 3A and were knocked out in Sectionals by PUBLIC 3A Heritage Hills ( eventual State Runner Up) In 2020 - made the 3A Southern Semi-State, and again, were knocked out by PUBLIC Danville Point being - there seems to be more public schools than Pioneer making noise in the tourney?? -
What position did Coach Hart hold in the school system ?

Top Public Programs by Class - The Best of the Best
jets replied to a topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
I’d like to think we’re somewhere on a list. -
I purposely didn’t include any individuals in my post (obviously there has been OUTSTANDING athletes to make 8 of 11 happen- but also takes a lot more than that) - nor do I like “labeling” a school - just wanted to give public props for quite an accomplishment.
-
I know this is a football forum - but just wanted to give a shout-out to the Southridge senior class on their 3rd straight (COVID knocked out what could have been a 4 for 4 peat for them) baseball sectional, this one in 3A after being bumped up. This senior class, in their time in the hallways, has brought an incredible 8 sectional championships in a possible 11 tries in the "big 3" sports. (Football, basketball, and baseball). Dating back to their freshman years, they have went 3 for 4 in football sectionals (2017, 2018, and 2020) 2 for 4 in basketball sectionals (2017 & 2021) 3 for 3 in baseball (2018, 2019, & 2021) Obviously an accomplishment like this doesn't come from just them, as they were surrounded by awesome classes in their own right - but still- a run like that I may never see again in my coaching career. Kuddos to them.

What position does he play?

Just observing from afar...
