  1. Not mad at all. Thought we represented ourselves pretty well for moving up to 3A and losing our All-State caliber QB. Just pointing out what I feel is an obvious flaw in the system. Some of you dudes try and turn EVERYTHING into an argument and it really is annoying/tiresome. Glad you all got a new field though.
  2. No dog whatsoever in the Chatard/Danville history/discussion/back-forth...but did the COACH really just leave the sideline to go stand in front of the stands so that everyone can "look at me??" Really?? I have no problem whatsoever with genuine excitement and celebrating with your guys ...but to leave the sideline and go stand amongst the cheerleaders?? Really?? Sorry for the distraction from the game - but man...
  3. Had ONE goal - but at the expense of others?? Just the "unintended consequences" argument?? Ya it made some P/P play up some classes a few years, but what of the obvious FLAWS in the system?? Like a school could win back-to-back States and have no repercussions??
  4. The Chatard/Danville talk can stop- it ain’t gonna happen. HH rolls in this one 28-7
  5. Seema that simple doesn’t it?? Seriously- how has this flaw not been brought up or fixed?? Makes zero sense at all. ZERO Man- can’t you guys ever play nice??
  6. It seems it is much easier for schools with enrollment's close to and/or above 1,000 to compete "up a class" ....maybe that's short-sighted or ignorant but just been my observation.
  7. I'm just not so sure the answer isn't just scrap the whole dang thing?? I seriously wonder what the date would like like had it not been in place?? Would THAT much of changed?? I know WHY the rule was implemented in the first place, and was done so with good intentions - I'm just not sure it's been the best thing/is working.
  8. Sure - but you've got potential for a reemergence this year - 1A-LCC/Lutheran 2A - Andrean 3A- Chatard 4A - Memorial Seems to me, and this may not be totally accurate/sensible, but letting this thing (Success Factor) run its course it seems really didn't affect P/P all that much. In fact one could argue moving Pioneer/Linton out of 1A, New Pal out of 4A might have made the road that much smoother?? The more I'm watching this thing (Success Factor) play out, the more I'm thinking we got it wrong.
  9. I know everyone is gearing up for their potential chance at a State Finals birth and it’s the most exciting time of the year- and for good reason. Nothing like punching that ticket to the State Finals. But something I can’t help but shake...and I know I should probably wait to start this topic till the offseason but I just gotta put it out there- Are we sure this Success Factor is working/is the best thing?? I mean- just look at some of the potential match-ups that would/could have taken place: 1A- Pioneer vs LCC , Linton (unless their enrollment has moved them to 2A permanently?) 2A- SR vs MD...any others I may have missed?? 3A- Memorial vs HH and/or Gibson, Chatard maybe in the South again?? 4A- New Pal vs Columbus East, Roncolli vs Cathedral?? I guess with my first go around with it- I’m second guessing if it was necessarily the best thing?? I mean- I’m watching kids work their tails off and paying for the successes of classes before them. And then I’m watching teams achieve nearly the same feats but get no penalty because it fell in a different cycle?? In what world is it right for a team to be able to go to back-back State and then remain in the class, but a team can do the exact same thing and get penalized?? What am I missing here guys?? Anyway- feel free to delete this moderators if the discussion takes away from the game talk this weekend...just been something that’s been on my mind so I was throwing it out there.
  10. Back to the game itself - I just don’t see a way HH doesn’t get it done in this one. The fact that Danville seemed to struggle a bit with VL (weren’t they down at half?) seems to tell me everything I need to know about this one. HH punches their ticket to the Oil Can Friday night and starts to prepare for the monumental task that is Chatard
  11. Didn't mean to imply that Chatard couldn't be beat. I know that not to be true as well...was just curious at to thoughts now that the "big bad wolf" so-to-speak was out of the South and moved North.
  12. So...I just gotta ask- would you rather square off with Chatard in Semi-State, knowing a trip to State is unlikely, but knocking them off makes a State finals appearance that much more “winnable” and that much sweeter?? Or this way around with Chatard waiting up at State?? Not that the path has been easy...but let’s just say playing all public schools in route to a State Finals birth is pretty unheard of in 1/2/3A ?? (Not that it’s there yet, but assuming hypothetically??) I don’t mean to damper any excitement or accomplishments, just curious since you brought up this history with Chatard. I’m sure there are plenty of HH teams that would have loved this alignment. (As SR would have if MD somehow magically got moved away lol)
  13. I guess that means MD is probably pretty happy that SR went up due to the success factor??? Let’s not start the SIAC vs PAC thing till offseason when we’re all really bored, come on. What Chris is simply saying is that when Reitz/Castle are good/strong- it makes the conference that much better. With them being a bit down...kinda takes the “sting” outta the conference a bit. Which ive always wondered but never really asked...why in the world is Castle not better than they are?? Good lord- you’d think with that enrollment and socioeconomic set up they’d freakin roll??
  14. Well shoot...was planning on trying to attend. Now might just sit at the comforts of home.
  15. I’m gonna go ahead and venture a guess that wasn’t the case.
  16. I’d be careful trying to compare a 12-0 Patriot squad to a South Dearborn team. Know nothing about SD, but I’d be willing to bet even if the schemes are similar, Lawrenceburg hasn’t seen anything remotely close to the Patriot ground game and just how they operate. Maybe EC would be more similar in terms of physicality of play?? As far as D...you best bet on throwing it around the lot, cause the Patriot run D is one of the best around. I guess since Lawrenceburg’s QB seems to be dynamic that might add another dimension...but if you think you’re just gonna line up and run it up and down the field😕- I’d be shocked if that was the case. A QB that can make plays with his legs might be the best bet to hurt the Patriot D as if they do have a weak spot on D- their pass rush isn’t what I’d call dynamite. Should be interesting how this one plays out as the winner most likely will be playing Danville for a trip to LOS
  17. I’d say only about 10% of HH’s offensive sets come out of the Bone. Most of the time- you’re gonna have a 2 Wing set...one in motion most every play. 90% run based offense...some big ol boys touting that rock, and one of the better athletes in Indiana running the controls at the QB position. (Reminds me so much of Winchell when he used to pull the ball out of the FB’s belly and take off)Although I’m not entirely certain if he is playing at 100%...but even still- his 80% is pretty damn good.
  18. Kind of a busch-league kind of thing for TC to do, in my opinion.
  19. Man- I can’t hardly decipher all this vocabulary coming from Eastern Indiana...you all speak a different language over there?!? What can the Patriots expect facing Lawrenceburg?? They still doing the ol Single Wing they were running when big Parris was there?? Sounds like they may have opened the offense up and have been running more Spread stuff?? Who is their one loss to??
  20. Didn’t realize a change had been made. Awesome and good luck moving forward.
  21. Is the game at WeBo?? If so, better hope for good weather throughout the week. Field can become an issue if any weather comes through
  22. Guys I’m not getting into this/that. HH won and proved they were the better team by beating us twice. The purpose of this thread was to ask genuinely about field playing conditions and people’s opinions about playing Championship type games in less than ideal field conditions. And yes- the field last night was less than ideal- was disappointed in the condition of Patriot field but it is what it is. I just personally don’t feel like like a Championship game should be played on a field that has less than ideal footing. That is all. Best of luck to the Patriots moving forward. Got a good team there in Spencer County.
  23. Just of my opinion that a CHAMPIONSHIP game shouldn't be played where footing/turf are questionable when adequate resources are available elsewhere...and no that doesn't just include at SR. It's just too bad. Yes we play an outdoor game so elements are part of it. I just personally don't like what I watched at Luers last year...it doesn't seem right to me. Most around the State have went the field turf route or at least sought out suitable replacements for playing and don't have to worry about it - some still do. To each their own.
  24. Been raining cats/dogs here in SW Indiana for the past 24 hours - too bad sectional championship match-ups have the possibility of being hampered by adverse field conditions- especially when adequate fields are readily available 😕
