  1. What position did Coach Hart hold in the school system ?
  2. I’d like to think we’re somewhere on a list.
  3. I purposely didn’t include any individuals in my post (obviously there has been OUTSTANDING athletes to make 8 of 11 happen- but also takes a lot more than that) - nor do I like “labeling” a school - just wanted to give public props for quite an accomplishment.
  4. I know this is a football forum - but just wanted to give a shout-out to the Southridge senior class on their 3rd straight (COVID knocked out what could have been a 4 for 4 peat for them) baseball sectional, this one in 3A after being bumped up. This senior class, in their time in the hallways, has brought an incredible 8 sectional championships in a possible 11 tries in the "big 3" sports. (Football, basketball, and baseball). Dating back to their freshman years, they have went 3 for 4 in football sectionals (2017, 2018, and 2020) 2 for 4 in basketball sectionals (2017 & 2021) 3 for 3 in baseball (2018, 2019, & 2021) Obviously an accomplishment like this doesn't come from just them, as they were surrounded by awesome classes in their own right - but still- a run like that I may never see again in my coaching career. Kuddos to them.
  5. What position does he play?
  6. Just observing from afar...
  7. Aren’t there suppose to be “rules” that keep kids from transferring solely for the purpose of athletics?? Are GS and HH just immune to such rules- or does no one care much ??
  8. Ahh....3A Southern community - do I even need to say it?? If ya'll been following at all, you know where my frustration lies. What.a.JOKE
  9. 32 sure knows how to "deflect" any questionable discussion regarding his beloved Titans. In every instance someone has brought up/questioned the D-I transfer, he's moved the discussion in another direction! And maybe that's because there isn't a lot to discuss?? Family move, releasing school had no issue, then done deal. Just curious how that all played out?? Ya know, since a certain basketball player from down South was forced to sit a year for what was deemed as an "athletic transfer" Personally - I could care less...Gibson won't need any help this upcoming year the way it is. They're going to be a monster to deal with. Mt. Vernon has a former Raider running the controls now - won't be too much longer and he'll have them in the mix EVERY year.
  10. I'm assuming it was some type of "family move" - which pretty much ties up the IHSAA hands when it comes to that. Rich get richer it seems...
  11. Understatement of the thread.
  12. Meant to ask this question sometime ago...but what does the rule read presently on onside kicks in regards to kicking formation?? Specifically, the number of players that must be on one side of the kicker vs the other?? Is it 5 and 5 ?? 6 and 4?? And with that in mind, how in the world is the "bunch behind the kicker" surprise onside a legal thing?? Wouldn't/shouldn't that be considered an illegal formation?? Thanks
  13. Am I the only one reading through this thinking "Good gosh - if you can't field a competitive football team with 2,000+ students in your building, maybe you've got other issues other than what class you're playing in? " Just a thought....
  14. Copied/pasted straight from the Cathedral website: "Cathedral High School is a private Catholic college-preparatory school affiliated with the Brothers of Holy Cross. Founded in 1918, it is one of the oldest and largest Catholic high schools in the state of Indiana and has a student body of nearly 1200 in grades 9 to 12." So my question, and excuse my ignorance on the subject, but what exactly is a "college-preparatory school" ?? Does that mean their curriculum is solely based on sending kids to college?? No vocational classes??
  15. Well- since you asked: Pike Central, Brown County, Washington, Edgewood, Owen Valley, Princeton... Meanwhile, you have other area Sectionals with routinely 2 and/or 3 State raked teams squaring off. The discrepancy of competitive balance is comical. Someone was on some committee that had a dog in the fight, that's all I'll say.
  16. I guess this is as good of a place as any to appeal to the IHSAA to fix the comically put together Sectional 30??
  17. Wow - impressive educational resume Mr. Zirkelbach brings to the table. It does not mention in the article the position he will hold within the school building?? Any word on that?
  18. I'm not really into putting other people's business out there - but yes - he has a schedule that is very conducive for being the Head Football Coach and its responsibilities. And that's NOT a shot and/or a complaint. I believe more school systems should adopt a similar philosophy. I've been on record in a number of threads stating your classic classroom teacher/ball-coach is becoming more&more scarce of a commodity. This ain't the 80s anymore!
  19. Troll much?? Seems like an unfair low-blow. In my opinion, the demands/expectations have led (partially) to a coaching shortage. I've seen it with my own 2 eyes and was just offering my opinion. Of course, we all can't be taken care of and set up with sweet gigs like some HC's in Gibson County.
  20. So 8 total coaches at a HS practice. What are their positions/class loads within the school system?? Especially the "major" coaching roles (HC, OC, and DC?)
  21. Not as easy at it seems: Little Johnny live in school district. Was enrolled (in person)1st semester - COVID #'s spike over winter break so little Johnny's parents are concerned, and opt for the Online option the next semester. So does he count in the enrollment totals or not?? Numbers will be all over the place with the Online options available to students. I dare say it gives schools an avenue to "fudge" numbers/play the system a little bit. Which is a scary thought.
  22. Good deal. Thanks for the info. Looks/sounds like a pretty good set-up for you all. As I have been saying throughout this thread (and some others) - it is becoming increasing difficult to be in a "major role" on staff (HC, OC, DC) and also try and balance the demands of a CORE subject in school. (Not knocking PE, I know it has its own challenges, but you know what I mean) - The demands and hours it takes to be successful (breaking down film, practice schedule, etc...) plus what is being asked in the classroom - I'm not sure how much longer I'll make it to be honest.
  23. How many of those guys have a full class load? Subjects taught?
