  1. -Madison was the biggest difference for Central in their meeting with Lincoln a few weeks back IMO (although they basically did what they wanted offensively in general). In an offense that’s more run oriented, I’m sure that was a hit to the Bears, especially in the 2nd half when the big guy really starts to wear on the opposing defense. Still..I think Jasper really showed what they’re capable of and that they can’t be ignored in that sectional. -North not having their signal caller certainly played a big part in the loss to MD, but I’m not so sure they win even with Brawdy. MD’s ability to control the game on the ground can’t be overlooked. They obviously found a chink in the North defensive front. I can only hope Lincoln learns a thing or two from the film as the Huskies come to Inman next Friday. -Castle looking better every week. The North and Jasper losses have opened the door a little for the Knights, who have yet to play Central.
  2. Haven’t heard how the frosh fared against Castle a week ago. Any info? They were able to handle Central 22-6 back on Sept. 10th. Freshman and 8th grade should be a fun group to watch. 8th grade is 5-0. Lincoln JV meanwhile on a 3 game skid after a 2-0 start. Sept 7- Loss 34-0 to MD Sept 14- Loss 35-12 to Central Sept 21- Loss 48-6 to Castle
  3. Love the matchups this week. GS/HH, SR/TC and (dare I say) two Big 8 contests.. Purple Cats over Pioneers by 7 GS over HH by 7 Raiders over Marksmen by 2 scores...rooting for TC though FP over SS 3 scores NK routs PC NP routs Tec Tigers over Hatchets by 2 scores
  4. -Castle over Reitz by 2 scores.. I see a similar result as Lincoln against a BIG BIG Castle team -Memorial routs Bosse -VL over Harrison by 4 scores..I can only hope Lincoln will rediscover some offense after being physically outmatched the last two weeks -North over MD by 3 scores...I will maintain that MD has a top 3-4 defense in the conference but not nearly enough offense. -Central over Jasper by 3 scores...5-0 vs 5-0 look super sexy. I want to call this a closer game. I really do. But this Central team is exceptional offensively...the speed to stretch you out and the size/power to punish you between the tackles. The Cats will do well to keep it close for a half
  5. Harrison @ VL video stream at https://www.wzdm.com/lincoln-high-school-sports/ Assuming WZDM follows suit after Reitz and MD homes games
  6. Wow what a game. Lots of good film for both teams to build from.
  7. -Central and North dominate as expected...Week 9 will be fantastic when these two square off for the conference -Jasper impresses over MD...this looks to be one of the better teams in recent memory down in Dubois County. The Cats pass their first test of the gauntlet second half schedule -Castle wears down VL...Lincoln getting little to nothing offensively the past two weeks and it has affected their defense which is normally stout. Still...an improvement over last week. This was a 7-7 game at the half. The Alices battled. Castle is a top 4 team in conference
  8. Central handles Reitz 3+ scores Jasper over MD by 7 Memorial routs Harrison North routs Bosse Castle narrowly avoids the upset, expect a bounce back from VL
  9. Yeah Central is on a whole other level than any competition Lincoln has faced so far. Haven’t seen speed on a team like that in quite some time. And their O Line was dominant as well.
  10. FP routs Tec TC over NP GS narrowly over Boonville and Mockobee Princeton over PA OC over MV HH over SS ND over Washington SR routs PC
  11. The exact opposite actually. No doubt the expectations have been tempered heading into this season. But the results through 3 weeks are encouraging to say the least. The Reitz and MD games have shown where we lack to win consistently in this league. Even so, those contests were both down to the wire. Physically we match up well, which was a concern of mine. Of course, this Friday will be more telling.
  12. Yeah I think you have to put MD in the top 10 somewhere. And I would have VL in the 8-10 range honestly, although 6 isn’t out of the question. They were toe to toe with MD and Reitz but weren’t unable to finish. This Friday will tell us a lot more about VL and Central both.
  13. Jasper routs Bosse MD narrowly beats Memorial North over Reitz Castle routs Harrison Central over VL
  14. -A bit surprised how Jasper handled Reitz tonight. The Cats look to be a real contender for the conference crown in their first season back. - A lack of a legit kicking game haunts Lincoln tonight. Had multiple drives into MD territory but couldn’t cash in after their first quarter TD. MD kicker has a cannon. The 32 yarder he drilled to go up 10-7 felt huge at the time and it proved to be the difference. The MD defense was superb. VL’s wasn’t too shabby either. -Was the Castle/Bosse cancellation Covid related?
  15. https://www.wzdm.com/lincoln-high-school-sports/ VL/MD stream
  16. Castle routs Bosse Central over Memorial - expecting a game similar to when MD faced the Bears VL narrowly over MD - I feel like Lincoln let one slip away last Friday. Should be fine if they cleanup some mistakes North routs Harrison Jasper squeaks by Reitz
  17. I believe they call it a mascot. Big A has roamed the basketball court for decades at Lincoln...rarely makes an appearance at Inman.
  18. And it was brought to my attention after the game that WZDM 92.1 live streamed the game on its Facebook page. Not sure if they will broadcast all remaining games or just Lincoln home games.
  19. Yes that’s 5p-7p at Inman Field. Families of visiting players, coaches, and cheerleaders will take precedence...not sure if that means an allotted number of tickets are sent to the visiting team for that school to sell through the week or what. I didn’t realize the protocols were so different compared to Evansville otherwise I would’ve posted this sooner.
  20. And it was...painful to watch at times, but exciting. I think I counted 8 or 9 turnovers between the two teams. Many, many penalties as well...even for this early in the season it was quite sloppy. Felt like VL played really well but couldn’t finish at the end of each half, which was when Reitz scored all of their points.
  21. Central routs Bosse Jasper routs Harrison North narrowly over Memorial VL/Reitz...give the edge to the home team Castle over MD
  22. FP over PC NP over Princeton HH over TC MV routes SS Tec over Pikers Boonville over SR Whiteland easily over GS
  23. MV has never defended well against anyone. I was simply pointing out the improvements of a program that went from being in the cellar most of this decade to a conference title contender a year ago. Coach Brunson was certainly a major part in that.
  24. Surprised but not surprised...that was one heck of a senior class that the Pats lost. So hard to replace that in a shortened offseason. And MV was on the upswing with Cory Brunson at the helm. I'm sure some of those teachings carried over despite his departure to Reitz.
  25. A little surprised by the lack of chatter...although it is only week 1. Big wins for Jasper and North Central as good as advertised Lincoln and Reitz impress in the first half of their matchups
