  1. Fascinating that no Duneland/SAC games were scheduled. Maybe Duneland has their games scheduled a few years out?
  2. How about Merrillville as a case in point? If they historically played schools of similar size, they might have 1 or 2 state titles?
  3. You're taking the list too literal. I think he just threw that list out there as a starting point. No one's forgotten about Luers and their 11 state titles.
  4. Another poster brought up the idea that Warsaw would be a good fit to the SAC. Would they be a good fit? Sure. Will it ever happen? No. Too far away. The SAC is just fine the way it is in it's current state. The two out of conference games sealed the deal. I did find it kind of interesting that so many matchups were set up with Indy, but none from The Region. I really thought that Merrillville and Valpo would be part of the equation.
  5. Michigan and Notre Dame are the two winningest programs in college football history. One is from Indiana and the other is just across the border and separated by only 177 miles. That's pretty cool if you ask me. Both programs place importance on the student athlete and take it seriously. Notre Dame has more national championships. Michigan leads the all-time series and taught Notre Dame the game of football..........true story. No point it sabotaging the historic rivalry these two great programs have. And I don't see either program being in a state of disarray. Freeman will figure things out. He has the staff and the players to make, his first campaign a successful one. Harbaugh is Harbaugh. As long as he is there Michigan will flirt with a 10 win season. He ranks somewhere in the Top 10 as far as coaches are concerned.
  6. You couldn't just settle for "reeled you back in?" You had to add "mission accomplished?"
  7. I do, but I won't. What qualifies a better job? The ability to recruit anyone with a brainstem in order to say "I won a national championship?" Some men might consider the better a job to be one that pays well at a university that has a higher moral compass than most and graduates 95% of it's players.
  8. Lol, not worth a response. Your posts are solid 95% of the time, but this one doesn't qualify.
  9. Presuming you are referring to Cathedral since Footballking isn't a Notre Dame fan. And you're way too smart to think that Notre Dame is in disarray. So what's going on with Cathedral? Major drop in talent?
  10. I'll give the Harbaughs that. Too bad Tom Crean wasn't 1/10th of his brother-in-laws. IU basketball fans would have been happier.
  11. Agree. Just curious. Were you a fan of Bob Knight at all? Kelly doesn't seem to be that much different then Knight in terms of how he goes after his players.
  12. Dwenger was the SAC's 5th best team. They just had a good game in the sectional championship that allowed them to play Zionsville. No one expected the Saints to beat the Eagles this past season. They had their shot in 2020 and blew it. Saints win that game 9 times out of 10.
  13. You said "I can point out instances." So point them out. I sure as hell don't have time. I doubt LSU really cares about a few temper tantrums on the sidelines. He wins football games and does well with the media. He might even be the best coach in the country. Look what he did with a bunch of smart kids. With Notre Dames recruiting restrictions, they shouldn't be considered one of the Top 5 teams of the decade. But that's where Brian Kelly led them. I know you hate the guy, but damn. Give him a morsel of credit at least.
  14. You're telling all the posters on this forum that Fort Wayne can't compete with Indy. I'm simply telling you that the SAC's 6th best team in 2020 took one of Indy's best to the 5 minute mark of the 4th quarter. Thought I already explained that. I get that the SAC's top have fallen big to the MIC and HCC. My argument is that the top half of the HCC and MIC seem to be on another level. You're argument is that the entirety of the HCC and MIC is on another level. I'll say 6-1. Like I said, an uphill battle. Every SAC school is playing a larger Indy school by enrollment. It'll be fun though for all involved. Kudos to Indy and Fort Wayne for making it happen.
  15. One could also argue that if 25% of the players in the NFL are white, then 25% of the runningbacks in the NFL should also be white. But NFL owners don't subscribe to that. They put the best person at each position to give them the strongest chance of selling out their stadium and advancing in the playoffs. There is also a misunderstanding that if 25% of NFL players are white, then 75% must be black. The actual percentage of black players is 58%.
  16. Which statement to be exact? You seem to somehow think that the Homestead/Noblesville game is the end all be all. By using your logic Snider (arguably their most underperforming team in four decades) and Dwenger would have beaten Chatard, arguably Indy's third best team, in 2020. And Chatard may have finished 6th in the SAC.
  17. Interesting. I watched every game and didn't see what you saw. Any video clips to back up your claim?
  18. Indianapolis schools are huge. It's an uphill battle. Nonetheless, it'll be an exiting weekend for football.
  19. I don't think Indy goes after Louisville and Cincinnati out of necessity, I think they are going after the competition...........the border war. Dwenger did the same thing in inking a deal with Cincinnati Moeller in 2023. I'm sure there were a slew of options in Indiana, Dwenger WANTED that game. I still think more Fort Wayne teams should explore options in Toledo. Border wars are exciting.
  20. I took it as Ben Davis didn't land any of the others, so may Concordia was the next best bet. Unfortunately Concordia isn't the same team that took Chatard to the wire in 2020 and the team that obliterated all their competition on their way to the 3a title in 2016. You're right though, no one can make heads or tails of it.
  21. Maybe Ben Davis didn't react fast enough. I'm surprised they didn't ink a deal with any of the SAC's Big Four. I know Snider reached out the Giants, but East Noble bit first.
