  1. Is it possible that Ben Davis played their best game of the season and Brownsburg had an off night? Maybe Brownsburg underestimated a team with a 4-5 record? I mean, if the HCC is as pathetic as you make them out to be, then the SAC might as well just fold their entire conference based on last nights results.
  2. What I'm hearing you say: Westfield waxed the SAC's best team tonight despite not playing well. Carroll's mistakes on offense were a result of Westfield's fine playmaking. The game should have been 37-7.
  3. Try that again, you're setting yourself up for disaster.
  4. It just goes to show that the IHSAA has a lot of work to do with regard to the tournament.
  5. Take Sagarin with a grain of salt when it comes to the SAC. That being said, would I be surprised if Zionsville won by two touchdowns? Not at all. Homestead, Carroll, and Snider all beat Dwenger by multiple scores this year. It really just depends on how badly Dwenger wants it this time around. They brought it against Snider last week, which was expected for a rivalry game. They need to bring that same intensity Friday night.
  6. I think most who follow high school football would favor Zionsville. Both have similar records, but it's widely accepted that the HCC is the better conference.
  7. Looking forward to seeing what happens when a 5 loss team from the HCC meets up with a 4 loss team from the SAC. Zionsville pulled the upset last year. Can Dwenger return the favor this year? I think the Saints can win this game if they play with the same intensity they played last Friday against Snider. But since Indy has had their way with Fort Wayne over the last few years, I'll roll with Zionsville by 7.
  8. Ohio State looks vulnerable. I wouldn't say that neither have a chance, although Michigan's chance is much better than MSU's.
  9. Although still in the hunt, MSU will go bye bye in the upcoming weeks. I still maintain that they will have at least two losses by the end of the regular season. It could be four. Now that Purdue disposed of them, I'm going to roll with three losses. Out of the playoff picture. The chances of Michigan finishing with three losses is pretty strong as well. But I think Michigan has a better shot to be part of the conversation in upcoming weeks. Brutal schedule coming up for both programs.
  10. November 3rd, 2017 was Zionsville's last road game. Their game against Dwenger this Friday will make 13 straight games they play in the friendly confines of their home field. THIRTEEEN straight games! I thought I was hallucinating when I looked this up. Must be nice.
  11. Takeaways: Michigan ranked ahead of Michigan State. I think it's cut and dry. It took the Spartans a late comeback on their home field to derail their "big brother." Then turn around and lose to a three loss Purdue team. On a neutral playing field, which is what the playoff is played on, 90% of football fans would agree that Michigan would win the second time around. Michigan State ranked ahead of Notre Dame: ND's loss came to Cincinnati at home. MSU's loss came to Purdue on the road and was never in doubt. Edge to ND. Key wins for the Irish are Purdue and Wisconsin. Key wins by MSU...........Michigan. Edge: even. Advantage Notre Dame. How about the Boilers coming in at 19?
  12. Carroll has six sectional titles to their credit. Four under Doug Dinan with his first three being blowout losses.
  13. That might be a stretch. Certainly the best team these Carroll seniors have seen.
  14. I was kidding about the tax hike. The link I found was for the renovation of the high school at a cost of 169 million. When I ran a google search of the stadium, this popped up. But when you click on the link it says 'not found.' wpta21.com › 2020/07/08 › homestead-sports-venueHomestead sports venue improvements coming Jul 08, 2020 · Homestead sports venue improvements coming. FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA21) - The soon to begin renovation of Homestead High School will include major improvements to three of.........
  15. You weren't notified of the $600 tax hike per household in the SACS school district?
  16. I don't remember the exact date. For all I know, they already started. I know they have a major overhaul plan of their campus.
  17. It makes me wonder what Homestead's new stadium will be like. They won't want Carroll to have the best stadium in Allen County.
  18. The SAC's streak of having a representative at semi-state for the last 34 years is on the line this weekend.
  19. Everyone has a different opinion of what "area" actually entails. And yes, good write up.
  20. I've got Westfield 35-21. Carroll has the facilities and the enrollment to become next level 6A. I'm just not sure they are there yet. I hope they prove me wrong. The Chargers are without a doubt the best team in the northeast quadrant of the state. So we'll see how that measures up to Indy.
  21. Lol, can't imagine that happening. If Merrillville were dumb enough to do that, it would be bye bye Pirates. The only thought on their minds should be five time state champion Penn.
  22. I don't think it's a double standard at all. Like you said, the Wolverines dominated most of the game even though it was on MSU's home turf. Michigan State's lone loss was also on the road, but it was against an unranked opponent. And the game was never in doubt. Michigan should be ranked ahead of Michigan State. Easy decision and no bias whatsoever.
  23. Actually, who knows. Maybe Southend is on to something here. The SAC's 34 year streak of having a rep in the semi-state is on the line with two Indy teams coming to town on Friday.
