  1. Although still in the hunt, MSU will go bye bye in the upcoming weeks. I still maintain that they will have at least two losses by the end of the regular season. It could be four. Now that Purdue disposed of them, I'm going to roll with three losses. Out of the playoff picture. The chances of Michigan finishing with three losses is pretty strong as well. But I think Michigan has a better shot to be part of the conversation in upcoming weeks. Brutal schedule coming up for both programs.
  2. November 3rd, 2017 was Zionsville's last road game. Their game against Dwenger this Friday will make 13 straight games they play in the friendly confines of their home field. THIRTEEEN straight games! I thought I was hallucinating when I looked this up. Must be nice.
  3. Takeaways: Michigan ranked ahead of Michigan State. I think it's cut and dry. It took the Spartans a late comeback on their home field to derail their "big brother." Then turn around and lose to a three loss Purdue team. On a neutral playing field, which is what the playoff is played on, 90% of football fans would agree that Michigan would win the second time around. Michigan State ranked ahead of Notre Dame: ND's loss came to Cincinnati at home. MSU's loss came to Purdue on the road and was never in doubt. Edge to ND. Key wins for the Irish are Purdue and Wisconsin. Key wins by MSU...........Michigan. Edge: even. Advantage Notre Dame. How about the Boilers coming in at 19?
  4. Carroll has six sectional titles to their credit. Four under Doug Dinan with his first three being blowout losses.
  5. That might be a stretch. Certainly the best team these Carroll seniors have seen.
  6. I was kidding about the tax hike. The link I found was for the renovation of the high school at a cost of 169 million. When I ran a google search of the stadium, this popped up. But when you click on the link it says 'not found.' wpta21.com › 2020/07/08 › homestead-sports-venueHomestead sports venue improvements coming Jul 08, 2020 · Homestead sports venue improvements coming. FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA21) - The soon to begin renovation of Homestead High School will include major improvements to three of.........
  7. You weren't notified of the $600 tax hike per household in the SACS school district?
  8. I don't remember the exact date. For all I know, they already started. I know they have a major overhaul plan of their campus.
  9. It makes me wonder what Homestead's new stadium will be like. They won't want Carroll to have the best stadium in Allen County.
  10. The SAC's streak of having a representative at semi-state for the last 34 years is on the line this weekend.
  11. Everyone has a different opinion of what "area" actually entails. And yes, good write up.
  12. I've got Westfield 35-21. Carroll has the facilities and the enrollment to become next level 6A. I'm just not sure they are there yet. I hope they prove me wrong. The Chargers are without a doubt the best team in the northeast quadrant of the state. So we'll see how that measures up to Indy.
  13. Lol, can't imagine that happening. If Merrillville were dumb enough to do that, it would be bye bye Pirates. The only thought on their minds should be five time state champion Penn.
  14. I don't think it's a double standard at all. Like you said, the Wolverines dominated most of the game even though it was on MSU's home turf. Michigan State's lone loss was also on the road, but it was against an unranked opponent. And the game was never in doubt. Michigan should be ranked ahead of Michigan State. Easy decision and no bias whatsoever.
  15. Actually, who knows. Maybe Southend is on to something here. The SAC's 34 year streak of having a rep in the semi-state is on the line with two Indy teams coming to town on Friday.
  16. Leo is another program that would benefit by playing in the SAC. Throw New Haven in there and that gives them 12. Division split...........large/small.
  17. " After Georgia, there are 10-12 teams that on the right day "could" be playoff worthy." I think that statement is pretty cut and dry, with Notre Dame obviously one of those 10-12. Michigan will be ranked higher than Michigan State for the same reason they were ranked high to begin with. They opened up an impressive multiple score advantage over MSU on their home field. The committee has taken that into consideration. It doesn't really matter though. I think the chances of MSU having two or more losses is higher than that of Michigan. Both teams have brutal schedules down the stretch. Speaking of Nebraska. The Cornhuskers this year remind me of where Indiana was in Gerry Dinardo's final season at IU. Competitive in every game, just not enough to win. Nebraska would be making a big mistake if they take the same road IU did.
  18. It's the only ranking that makes any kind of sense. Sure, it has it's flaws, but it's way more accurate than the AP.
  19. Exactly who are the playoff teams then? Most years, absolutely not. But let's face it, there aren't many teams that are playoff worthy. It's a crapshoot after Georgia.
  20. Most years, probably not. This year? Name 10 teams better who are better. Good luck with that.
  21. The problem in the video is #62. How Wayne reacted was natural human behavior. Number 62, who weighs about 280 lbs, leveled a kid who weighs about 140. If Wayne players didn't come to his aid, then shame on them. This is 95% about #62 and only 5% about how Wayne reacted. Also note that it was not an 'all out brawl.' Several Wayne players kept their composure. That being said, if I'm Coach Haydock, 95% of my focus would be on the five unsportsmanlike conduct penalties that led up to the large fight............that's a major problem that needs to be addressed. The other 5% is focused on the reaction of the Wayne players when their 140 lb teammate got blasted by a kid twice his size................#76 on Wayne should be given praise for putting an end to what #62 had started.
